Hey guys, I think it's about time we got an OOC chat thread running for the RP so we can settle things without having a million comment blurbs, talk about things we're up to, generally goof around with stuff that has to do with the RP or otherwise comment/complain/ask questions about As the Gears Turn RP. Sound good?
I'll start. Fun fact? I just noticed about an hour ago I named my primary agents Victor and Kilo, coding them after the letters V and K. I had just done it because I liked the names. Raging ensues. mad

How do regs differ from the field and the prisons if you don't mind me asking? I have two Wardens set up but I dunno how the OmniDrink system works for the most part.

I was under the impression that the Regulators were a military force, not the law. Regulators protect OMNIDIRNK's intentions, only acting on transgressions against the company. It seemed to me like they either killed, broke or re-educated any that crossed their paths. Take no prisoners, yeah?
At least, that's the Regulators. I thought the prisons of Aekea were still with the guard, but I guess it would make sense if OMNIDRINK had their own system also. I just had kept it separate from the Regulator work thus far.

Good, I was going to make one these soon, anyways.
So... King's already made enemies with the Regulators. Fun! So do you actually know, out of character, what the thumbprint was for, or was that just an excuse to beat me up?
You don't have tell me if you know and want to keep it a surprise, I just kinda want to know wether or not you've got anything planned. Not sure if that's the wording I wanted, but it's close enough.
Also, might we be able to jump forward to morning shortly?

The thumbprint is how OMNIDRINK acknowledges "consent" to their terms. It didn't matter that you changed your thumbprint, since it was ran against your current prints as soon as it was received. Basically, you were forced to sign the same crap most officials are, which says "Blah, blah, I'm aware that OMNIDRINK has the right to monitor all electronic transmissions, blah, blah, if you're caught harboring a fugitive we'll kill you, if you're caught with intent to conspire against OMNIDRINK we'll kill you...."
You get the idea. Part of it was just their way of saying "Hi! Welcome to the neighborhood!", part of it was just to be a slap in the face, and part of it was an attempt to make you realize that they didn't give a rat's a** about MAGIC. It's totally illegal and mega d**k, but that's how the big corp runs things, I suppose. Also for Hayley to try and (fruitlessly) beat the cockiness out of you and get you to suck it up and lay low for once. xd
I'd let PQ and Ash take a little longer to work out the stuff they started posting on before morning. I'm ready to sink my characters for the night as soon as stuff is resolved, yeah?
Black - It's not Kilo and Vic's department. I've mostly just taken over the grunts, and I really don't want to swallow the whole of OMNIDRINK with my own creation. Go wild with the prisons, mate. xd

Okay, that's what I guessed. I just wanted to double check. The change in print was done as a hopeful counteraction against anything more evil.
Though, you do realize, I now have to get King to pound into OmniDrink's heads they can only mess with MAGIC so much. MAGIC is already trying to get Kilo and Vic tried in their courts. I'll let you handle how that ends up, but there are potential repercussions. I've been trying to make MAGIC less of a piece of King's backstory and more on the ball this time around, and they're already not happy with OmniDrink. So remember that you'll have to dance around it occasionally.
I was posting the question here so I know when to jump. I wait for everyone's okay.
Final thought: I'm glad you've taken the grunts, makes it easier to keep who's fighting who together. You're like the GM in a way/

Well on the same token, you'll also have to acknowledge OMNIDIRNK's power WITHIN the city. King is trying to get them tried, but the courts are still owned by the corporation. If taking down OMNIDRINK was as easy as MAGIC just suing them, it would have been done already. The people outside aren't blind. OMNIDRINK is a whole new monster.
Speaking of, you mind if I PM you about some things? I was thinking about a few things for my character that might involve MAGIC and I wanted to hash them out with you. 3nodding
EDIT: Off-topic? PQ's scarf. It's perfect.
EDIT EDIT: I'm sorry, I just re-read my post and don't like how it sounds. I'm just trying to say that while MAGIC's prodding might piss OMNIDRINK off and take certain precautions like, say, reprimanding the offending soldier's publicly and letting them off with something like temporary probation, I doubt OMNIDRINK or my characters will be completely ruined by a lawsuit with MAGIC. I'm trying to be reasonable with it, yeah?

Oh yes, I'm all ways open to PMs. No need to ask. I like how it let's sneaky backdoor plannings to happen. Feel free.
MAGIC vs. OmniDrink: I acknowledge that, which is why MAGIC is trying to get them into Durem courts, where (I'm assuming) it's less corrupted. I'm planning on posting a list of MAGIC's can cannots, kind of a guideline to follow. Also: MAGIC wants the goons "responsible". The camera can film, but they have no idea to the identities. OmniDrink can easily just sacrifice weaker goons. I'm leaving the results up to you, just wanted to bring the potiential to your attention.
I'd also suggest we make a list of OmniDrink's cans and cannots.
All I have is they CANNOT control magical transmissions, as MAGIC firmly will not let them. King sends two reports: One by internet (A cover to let OmniDrink think they know more than they do) and one my magic fieldy-ness (The "True" report. Tells the real situation, plus a few code words. Makes sure OmniDrink isn't engaging in magical terrorism). If neither reports show, MAGIC will assume King has been compromised and send in an assault squad to right things. OmniDrink knows of the technical reports, and MAGIC's willingness to protect King if need be.
I'm trying to keep power limited by MAGIC, but completely out.
PQ: Nah, you can never do too much as long as it moves the plot. I usually stick with a "At least one other post between" rule, but do whatever you feel right.
And the scarf is very nice.
EDIT Response: I know, I realize this. I'm not trying to ruin them. MAGIC is just trying to say "We're watching."

I like the idea of setting those guidelines now. I was really worried that it was going to become a bigger issue than it should. D:
I knew OMNIDRINK couldn't access the magic stuff. They're not equipped to do anything about that with any measure of haste and without spending more cash than it's worth.
The DID get the electronic one. I have yet to decide what happened there. xd
The MAGIC vs. OMNIDRINK lawsuit is as of right now not affecting the storyline, I don't feel. There's a lot of red tape on the Coporate end before any results are shown there, and unless someone wants to play some of the suits, I say we let that one stew and come back to bit OMNIDRINK later.
I actually really like the idea of MAGIC fighting the good fight from the outside, which is part of why I wanted to talk to you last night, but then forgot. xd
As for moving the plot, I'm actually against moving the plot too fast at the expense of a major character. If someone doesn't post for a few days, then fine, but I like giving everyone their due and it makes for a more interesting story. That could just be me.

The one time my character gets outside interaction and omni has to come.......My characters get all alienated in all the other RP's too! xp
and YAY! Deceptus already wanted for re-ed! thats almost a record for my character being wanted in an RP. XP
