Curious to see if I'd get a response here seeing as it hasn't been used since its creation; buuuuuuut...
What about a side-plot that shows the effect the assassination attempts have had on the main populace? Just thinking, something as big as that would get out and romours would spread (demonic sacrifice, ambitious nobles, rival kingdoms, ect.) causing fear and tension amongst the people. That way you can show a progression and how the kingdoms respond rather than have everyone come back from godland to see that either everythings still normal or everythings gone to [add expletive here].
Just thought I'd find out peoples views on this before I attempt a proper proposal.
