the deal here with me is I just want to get an inside veiw on this religon, I am a jew and I have different belifs but we both worship the same G-d so I hope we can all get along, Thanks

It's really "rare" In my place to find some jewish people here since I live in a Muslim country. (I live in the middle east... Near Saudi but kinda far from Israel) So Im really fascinated on how you base your faith trust on god etc. If you won't mind.. share!

well here is my basic life story and how I became Jewish
My father was married to my mother and he was jewish and my mom doesn't really have a religion she respects them all and she does believe in G-d
my mom and my dad had my sister and then, my mom got pregnant with me. now see my dad was a nurse in intensive care, and he had these really strong pain killers for his patients and the hospital would usually give the nurses more that anyone needed, just incase, and if you didn't use it all you would sign it back in.
My dad had been having some major back issues so he thought that he could just take a little and it would help. but sadly my father was a "druggie" he did pot, coke, meth, shrooms etc. and the pain meds mixed with the pain killers made him extremely depressed.
My mom was about 1 month pregnant with me.
One day my sisters preschool let early, and my mom was bringing my sister home, she got into the apartment and called out my dad's name, he didn't respond, but she knew he was there because his car was, so she looked in all the rooms and she found my dad in the bathtub with a gun, blood everywere and a hole through his head.
it took along time for me to get over this because i never knew my father, I went through many different emotions throughout my childhood, from sadness, to blaming myself and to pure hatred for my father.
when I was in 6th grade, I knew some jewish people and they took me to temple one night and I realized that this is where I belong.
Judaism is almost the same religion as catholic or christian we believe in the same G-d and we both have Abraham as our founding father.
What you call the "old Testament" is what we call the Torah which is basically our bible.
We have the utmost faith in G-d and we believe his name to be so holy we mustn't write it so thats why i write G-d instead of it with a o. we have many names for G-d, such as Adonai, Hashem, and many others.
when we pray to god we start almost all of our prayers with
Baruch atah adonai eloheinu melach ha olam, which means blessed are you ruler of the universe (there are many different translations all meaning basically the same).
In judaism when a boy or a girl turns 13, we have bar or bat mitzvah's, where we become adults in the Jewish community. only recently have girls been allowed to become bat mitzvahs. We learn all the prayers and a portion of the torah, my portion was Ki Tissa which was the creation of the golden cow. (my fav part even before my bat mitzvah)

I enjoy letting people know the real me, I think keeping secrets is the worst form of disrespect to G-d because you have knowledge to share, not to keep to yourself, I know its a weird philosophy but hey I like it XD
