Tonight was a very intense night for me. A friend of mine, who I will call by her pseudonym "Syrna", contacted me online claiming her desire to kill herself. After a while, I submitted her to a specific exercise, to give her some perspective on her life. That exercise was to write one hundred things she loved about life, from the big things to the little things that we seem to overlook but mean the world to us.
Three hours later, Syrna came up with one hundred things. I told her to take the list, look at it, and imagine a state of being without any of those things. And if she didn't like that state, I told her, "Live. Because you have a Hell of a lot to live for." I logged off bidding her good night and God bless, hoping nothing but the best.
This event in my life has inspired me to bring it up with you wonderful BKers. I know many of you, more than once, have gone through trying times whether recently or a while past. I know life can seem frustrating and almost futile. That's why I challenge you all to this task: write down 100 things you love about life. If you can think of more, write more. Just think of all the things in life you love, no matter how insignificant they seem to be. And hopefully it will remind you of how precious and beautiful life really is. smile

Since I wrote 100 things for Syrna to read, I'll start with my list and maybe I'll add more in the future:
1. I love the smell of coffee when I walk into a café.
2. I love the feel of a pen against my fingers when I write in my journal.
3. I love the sting I get in my fingertips after I play a song on my guitar.
4. I love the autumn breeze.
5. I love the ocean spray.
6. I love dressing up as a pirate with my friends.
7. I love sitting by a fire.
8. I love telling and listening to stories.
9. I love sappy pop music.
10. I love my band mates.
11. I love gospel hymns.
12. I love waking up in the morning with the sun warming up my bed.
13. I love Belgian waffles at the local diner.
14. I love dry cider.
15. I love Ireland.
16. I love chocolate.
17. I love driving with the windows rolled down while blasting Nightwish music.
18. I love live concerts.
19. I love singing.
20. I love writing.
21. I love rhyming.
22. I love the way the second hand moves on a pocket watch.
23. I love peanut butter oreos.
24. I love walking at night while listening to Pink Floyd.
25. I love cuddling next to my sister when we're both exhausted after a long day.
26. I love laughing over nothing significant.
27. I love ridiculous Youtube viral videos.
28. I love the crackle of a car radio.
29. I love sushi.
30. I love typing on a vintage typewriter.
31. I love walking barefoot in the grass.
32. I love reading a weathered book.
33. I love long philosophical discussions.
34. I love a warm cup of hot chocolate.
35. I love holding a marshmallow to a flame and watching it turn a perfect brown.
36. I love guitar solos.
37. I love having snow in my hair.
38. I love inside jokes.
39. I love the feel of a steering wheel.
40. I love screaming at the top of my lungs while riding a roller coaster.
41. I love licking my fingers after eating spicy chicken wings.
42. I love watching plays and getting chills when I see the actors perform.
43. I love sitting in the center of a movie theater in the perfect spot - not too far, not too close.
44. I love microwave popcorn.
45. I love catching the last word of a conversation and being completely weirded out by whatever I heard.
46. I love literature lectures.
47. I love watching student films where I can nitpick all the things wrong with the filming process.
48. I love trying to teach myself yo-yo tricks and never being able to get them right.
49. I love the way my cat meows whenever he walks into a room and can't remember where everyone else is.
50. I love rubbing my dog's belly when he rolls around grunting like a pig.
51. I love sunsets.
52. I love sunrises.
53. I love being terrified of climbing trees, then finally making it up halfway and feeling ultra proud of myself.
54. I love drinking from a tea cup, even if there's no tea in it.
55. I love watching the food channel late at night and getting hungry for the unhealthiest of cuisine.
56. I love the jolt I get in my stomach when a plane I'm riding in lifts off the runway.
57. I love yellow roses.
58. I love giving piggyback rides.
59. I love playing video games.
60. I love being a critic.
61. I love being an analyst.
62. I love being a playwright.
63. I love watching foreign films and TV shows without the subtitles and wondering what the Hell they're saying.
64. I love learning new languages.
65. I love quaint little pubs you can find on street corners in Dublin and San Francisco.
66. I love standing on the deck of a ferry with the fog in my face.
67. I love great views from balconies or windows.
68. I love listening to vinyls on old record players.
69. I love cracking an egg and feeling the yolk between my fingers.
70. I love crescent moons.
71. I love twilight skies.
72. I love zipping through a tunnel on a train and not knowing when it's going to end.
73. I love taking deep breaths after a long run or bike ride.
74. I love my father's hugs.
75. I love my mother's laugh.
76. I love my brother's weird voices.
77. I love my sister's friendship.
78. I love seeing adorable animals and cooing at them as they walk by.
79. I love the feel of a sword's hilt in my grip.
80. I love renaissance faires.
81. I love music festivals.
82. I love downtown farmer's markets.
83. I love driving at night when I can see the way the cars are moving down a slope like a stream of gold.
84. I love the warmth after rubbing my hands together on a cold day.
85. I love cheeseburgers.
86. I love standing on the edge of a cliff or ledge and screaming, "I'm the king of the world!", then waiting for everyone to groan in unison at the movie reference.
87. I love watching award shows.
88. I love stand-up comedy.
89. I love reading old family recipes.
90. I love flipping pancakes on a grill.
91. I love having long wall conversations on Facebook that go absolutely nowhere.
92. I love the occasional glass of Amaretto.
93. I love attempting to ride a skateboard only to end up seeing it fly out from under me.
94. I love playing impromptu soccer, even though I'm terrible at it.
95. I love playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time melodies on the recorder.
96. I love random trips to Target.
97. I love talking into a microphone.
98. I love homemade chocolate chip cookies.
99. I love the fact that I can tell all my worries and secrets to my family and they'll still love me no matter what.
100. I love that even though I stop at 100 things I love about life, I have at least a hundred more still zipping around in my head.

1. I love acting.
2. I love singing.
3. I love dancing.
4. I love the feeling of just performing on a stage and transforming into someone else.
5. I love talking.
6. I love the support system of my family and friends.
7. I love coffee drinks.
8. I love red and white roses, especially when put together in a bouquet.
9. I love nailing a song, monologue, scene, show, and anything else along those performing lines and just feeling so great and fulfilled afterwards.
10. I love hearing applause/entertaining people
11. I love giving applause/being entertained by people.
12. I love taking funny photos with friends.
13. I love those lazy days where all you do is surf the net.
14. I love Trader Joe's.
15. I love catching up with old friends when you haven't talked to them in ages.
16. I love those random, rare moments where I just write and write without stopping.
17. I love blogging.
18. I love adorable animals.
19. I love my dad even when he worries.
20. I love my mom and her sensibility.
21. I love my brother even when we don't get along.
22. I love my sister and all that she gives me.
23. I love philosophical talks.
24. I love just plain silly talks.
25. I love when you can just be blunt with a group of friends and talk about the dirtiest or most edgy things.
26. I love a good hike.
27. I love poetry.
28. I love reading a good book.
29. I love walking down a beach.
30. I love our cabins up north.
31. I love my dog and his silliness.
32. I love my cat and HIS silliness.
33. I love my grandparents and how connected I feel with them even though they've all passed on.
34. I love shopping for clothes and just having the best of luck.
35. I love dressing up just because I can.
36. I love an aced audition.
37. I love belting out a song.
38. I love singing soprano.
39. I love playing a character who is so different than me that it becomes a challenge.
40. Speaking of which, I simply love transforming into people who aren't me and living their lives/learning from said lives/having adventures.
41. I love chocolate chip cookies.
42. I love random "adventures" with friends.
43. I love sitting at a cafe sipping coffee with friends.
44. I love Veggie Grill.
45. I love sitting in a car and actually loving it while I listen to music.
46. I love singing along with my sister's iPod while we're driving.
47. I love shamelessly singing along with/listening to boybands.
48. I love silly pop music in general.
49. I love singing while my sister plays guitar.
50. I love playing flute.
51. I love playing piano even though I'm not very good at it.
52. I love watching musicals and plays.
53. I love being in a musical or play that I've always wanted to be in for months or years.
54. I love cast parties.
55. I love the bond that forms amongst a cast during a show when living a different life as different people.
56. I love Christmas.
57. I love Halloween.
58. I love Greek mythology.
59. I love dressing up in costumes.
60. I love critiquing things.
61. I love ranting.
62. I love watching hilariously bad movies and commenting on them with friends.
63. I love my sister's and my best friend's story "Writer's Quest".
64. I love reading that said story aloud.
65. I love going outside of my comfort zone.
66. I love riding my bike down a hill.

69. I love playing on playgrounds even though I'm 21.
70. I love being able to purchase alcohol.

75. I love that I'm still pursuing acting/singing/performing despite my doubts.

79. I love a well-crafted character to either read about or transform into during a play.
80. I love sitting inside on a rainy day and listening to the rain fall on the roof.
81. I love swimming in a pool on a hot day.
82. I love rolling down a hill at top speed.
83. I love how green my hometown is.

85. I love getting those random times where I go on a cleaning spree and actually love it.

90. I love those incredibly crazy times where my friends and I act like idiots...completely sober.
91. I love losing my inhibitions and just dancing and singing like crazy in a club or at a party.
92. I love staying up late and talking with people.
93. I love random late night car rides.
94. I love going to a sex store with friends just to hang out.
95. I love anything having to do with the Renaissance.
96. I love amazing writers and playwrights.
97. I love spending a day with my family and not fighting at all.
98. I love playing board games.
99. I love random computer games.

100 Things Deb Loves
1. I love this idea because I take too much for granted.
2. I love my husband.
3. I love my little sister, Lynnera.
4. I love the small growth in the relationship with my mother.
5 I love hearing my husband sleep.
6. I love the sound of Buzz purring.
7. I love the way Dirty always wants up or "hugs" right when I get home.
8. I love the time I spend with my husband in the morning sitting in bed reading the newspaper.
9. I love my husband's laugh.
10. I love that Dirty will find me when I am crying, even if I am trying to hide- he paws at the door.
11. I love my Jeep.
12. I love my family- even if we never speak again.
13. I love 'bazanya."
14. I love the way music reaches into my soul.
15. I love that Buzzman just climbed up into my arms for a quick snuggle and is now sleeping next to me while I write this.
16. I love a glass of milk with a BB&J.
17. I love to cook for my husband and sister.

20. I love when my sister becomes really excited and squeels.
