Dear staff and participants of the 2010 8th Annual User Ball,

I have been on Gaia since 2004, on various accounts and as various persona's over the years. For years, I was useless. Every other account I have had as been hacked, and after said hackings I grew weary of sucking at virtual life.

Than I made my 5th incarnation Gaian. Hoping to apply myself and actually do something for once, I joined the 8th Annual Gaian Ball Guild after seeing it on the front page. I can honestly say that it was the best click I could possibly have in a lifetime.

From the start, I was bombarded with challenges, obstacles, and most importantly of all, potential. But I wasn't alone; we always worked as a team, and it gave my Gaian life actual purpose. I tried my hardest to help out with whatever I could within the guild, and soon enough I applied for a room host position.

I was excited when I found out that I was a room host. I was paired with the user Lectern, whom I had no prior experience with. That was my loss, as I quickly found out that Lectern was easy to work with and did a brilliant job at directing and communicating with the entire room. I would have been lost without him.

We were assigned the Room by the Sea.

From there, we gathered roleplayers and cohosts, easily filling up our slots with the best we could ever ask for. Everyone in our room worked flawlessly together; it was like a complete jig-saw puzzle.

As we approached the start of the ball, we got things done. I don't know how, but we made it. And then the ball was postponed. From there, we worked to make our room even better; completing avatars, writing up posting formats, and finalizing prizes for our contests. Again, the date of the ball approached, and we were prepared.

One thing worried me, however.

As the day of the ball approached, so did the day that I have to leave my regular Gaian life behind forever. I was worried that I could not fulfill my duties as host, and that our room would fail because of me. I underestimated the power of our team, however.

Lectern really stepped up to my unplanned absences. We had complete trust; I even trust him with my own account. Lectern is a real friend; dedicated, hardworking, and pretty much awesome.

I was really impressed with how our thread turned out. While other hosts complained about spammers and trolling, I only saw dedicated roleplayers and pure awesomeness, which in reality accomplished what EVERY one on Gaia could ever hope to do. We created a situation that brought people together, establishing a fully interacting community that follows all the rules laid down before them while still generating fun and interest. I am an intellect, sue me.

And then the end of the ball arrived, which I unfortunately missed, due to personal situations. But I understand that it went perfectly, and even extended into the towns. What I am the most proud of, however, is that our roleplayers are so dedicated that they wanted to continue to roleplay even after we have finished, kudos to you guys.

And so, my first experience ever with the Gaian Annual Ball came to a close, and with a heavy heart, the end to a good thing. But not before personal messages!

To Lectern
Thank you for being the most awesome host ever! I think if I had to choose, you would be my best Gaian friend. Remember the good times, buddy.

To Sabs-face and Blissy
Bliss, you were the host who took charge in the beginning, and Sabs you gained control in the end. I am proud to say that I know y'all, and wish you gargantuan success in the future.

To all of the hosts in the Meebo room, you know who you are
Keep your sense of humors. If it weren't for that room, we would of all died of stress, and I would not of thought of all those brilliant ideas.

To Epcot
Sorry if I got on your nerves. I love messing around with people. Try to relax and be open to others taking responsibilities, but also try to plan for the future. You will be surprised if you put your faith in others.

To captains bootie
Thank you for coming and helping me with the ball at my own personal request. You are a beautiful person, no matter what anyone can say. I owe you one!

To all of the ball participants
Thank you so much for coming out and hanging with us this year! It was a blast, and was totally worth planning for months on end. You guys are what draw me back here every single time!

And now that the personal messages are over, it is time to say goodbye, as this will be my last correspondence as a regular on Gaia. I hope to impart a little wisdom, which will hopefully make the world a better place.

Always try your best and your hardest. If no one around you needs help, find someone who does. Don't judge on appearances, never judge period. Live your life because it is your only one, not because you have to. Never regret anything you do, never wonder about 'what if's', and strive to do the unseen good deed. It is because of all of this that I am joining the United States Coast Guard; it is so I can help people to the best of my ability, because I can.

Thank you all, for everything.
