I'm at rock bottom depression and I can't sleep I'm absolutely exhausted I may get an hour here and there and eventually pass out for 2 or 3 hours at best I get 5 hours a day that's not enough!!! I'm epileptic!!! I have seizures when I'm sleep deprived!!! besides making me even more miserable it's a real threat to my health this is the first time anything like this has happened I've had bi-polar for about 10 years and any level of depression made me sleep

Have you told your doctor about this? Surely some sleeping pills would help?
You have my sympathy... I know how bad depression can be with such little sleep is enough, I can't imagine how hard it must be with the epilepsy.

You might be experiencing what's called a mixed state, in which symptoms of depression and mania occur at the same time. Having a reduced need for sleep is a symptom of mania, but you feel bad, so a mixed state seems plausible. But of course, it would be the most help to get a professional opinion.
