Ok... This link got my mind working, and it greatly surprised me that myself.. had a few common ground with it...

Like, when I became a Christian, my uncle ( the one who led me back to Jesus) said about the Christmas is NOT REALLY DECEMBER. That, Jesus is not born in December...

After a few months, I was searching in Youtube about God's verses and songs when I suddenly found myself infront of my Computer in a Man speaking about CHRISTmas beinga PAGAN custom... or something like that. and NOW I landed on this one! o.O

Catholics... BRACE YOURSELF OF WHAT YOUR GOING TO READ.

God Hates Christmas!
The Plain TRUTH about Christmas
Santa Claus the GREAT Imposter
The Evils of Christmas

OK, now, Its got me confused... please tell me your opinion! I DON'T KNOW why I keep on running to these grounds!? gonk

what is christmas?

Christmas..as Catholics and some other Christians celebrate... is the Birth of Jesus Christ.. but the problem that says in the link... all of the mistletoe... exchanging gifts... Santa Claus and the other customs comes straight form Nimrad and his wife and the Babylon. Thats right... it shocked me greatly... even the lighting of the Candles and the Christmas tree... a Tree worship that came form ancient Pagan drive?! first of all.. what that link is trying to tell us... Christmas is NOT the birth of Jesus Christ.. but the birth of their SUN-GOD???

eyy.. ppl, did you take time to read it? because if you did... maybe you can make it to me clearer. You know, im also confused...

Those are fanatics that don't know what they're talking about. Yes, we have based some Christmas on Pagan traditions but I assure you it's all about Jesus people.

But we base all the truth in Bible, because we believe the Bible is the true word.. based on Paganism.. hmm.. Paganism! thats it! Our father dislike Pagans, ( i knda think it that way)
Because, of their worshipping of many gods and traditions... this thing Got my mind working!

The only important thing is that it's about Jesus.

I haven't read the links yet, but i intend to and after i read them, i'll have more to comment.
But....
I will say this..
I have known some Christians who do not celebrate Christmas because they do not believe the Bible supports Dec. 25 as the actual date of Christs birth
AND...
because somewhere in the old testament it describes how pagans cut down a tree and decked it with gold and stuff and then worshipped the tree as like a god.
Well... as a Christian, I totally agree that worshipping a tree as a god is idolatry. I believe that worshipping anything other than Jesus Christ is idolatry.
But at Christmas time i dont worship my tree. I dont believe Jesus was born on Dec. 25th either, but I celebrate Christs birth every day anyhow.

For me, Christmas is a time set apart for family reunions and gift giving, homemade cookies, pretty decorations, delicious food, beautiful music...
None of which are in the least bit sinful.

okay i have to go make supper now, i'll have more to say later.

I really like the jesus is savior website.
I use it alot to provide biblical evidence and truths for us to look into and compare other beliefs with the bible.
It has alot of very good articles.
However...
there are some things on that site that i do not embrace.
this thing of Christmas being one of them.
I do not accept that just because someone celebrates Christmas, that it automatically makes them wicked and practicing pagan rituals.

Christianity is a heart belief. we worship God in spirit.
we can celebrate Christmas, with all the traditions and trimmings (those which are not sinful) and not be partaking in some spiritual pagan anti-Christian worship.

If it's a tradition that everyone gets drunk at Christmas, then yes, i believe that's sinful. But mistletoe? a wreath? an evergreen tree? tinsel?

on any day of the week it is a sin to be materialistic, not just Dec. 25. on any day of the week it is a sin to be greedy, not just Dec. 25. on any day of the week it is a sin to lie to children and tell them that Santa Clause is real. But.. is it wrong to pretend that Santa flies in his sled and delivers presents? No.

I have told my children that on Christmas we pretend that Santa delivers presents, i have never told them that he is real. on Easter, we pretend that there's an Easter Bunny...

Anyhow...
I think some things can get taken past the extreme until some people begin to feel it's a sin to even have fun.

Just because Pagans did something with tree decorating doesn't mean they have to ruin the fun of it for everyone. We can celebrate Christmas in the right spirit. Greed, materialism, Santa worship and lies do not have to be a part of it.
I love Christmas.
I love the beautiful songs that declare the birth of Christ.
I love the lights the manger decorations in peoples front yards.

why is it so wrong to have pagan traditions, paganism and Judaism formed christianity, the easter bunny comes from an old pagan tale about a bird who had offended the goddess and she punished her by turning her into an animal that was fast as a bird, but could not fly. This animal was called a rabbit, The rabbit was very sad, and wished it could have its young in the spring like everyone else, but she couldn't, so the goddess took pity on the poor beast and said that once a year the rabbit could lay eggs, thus the rabbit sneaking in to our houses pooping eggs and hiding presents for the little ones.

The problem is that the claims made by Christ are incompatible with any other religion or way of life out there. Even among gentler faiths, there will be conflicts. Paganism and pagan traditions do not glorify God in the positive sense of the word. Obviously, He gets glory in the end, but they set themselves up in opposition to Him.

That said, I think that these guys who are going off on Christmas have good intentions, but are ultimately full of it. Yes, they have Pagan traditions. Consider 1 Corinthians Chapters 8 and 9. These other "gods" do not exist, and we have a lot of freedom because of it. Even if they did, we are for the one true Lord of All, and Him alone. We as Christians have the freedom to hold whatever days special that we so desire. That's part of the liberty that comes with being in Christ. But remember this: If your exercising of that liberty causes a brother or sister to stumble, we are guilty of sin.

I grew up as a Catholic. And I've been there with the "must have a tree, otherwise Christmas is not Christmas"! And I must add here that I lived as a toddler in Germany, so there the "person" who brings kids all the gifts is not Santa Claus, but the Christchild (German: Christkind)!!! Now outrageous is that!!

As a born again Christian now, I still celebrate Christmas with decorating my house. I just changed it to Happy Birthday Jesus banners. I like to treat it more like a huge bash for Jesus. He came to live among us to die and save us, so I like to honor His birth as well.

As for exactly, when His birthday really was, I try no to get all hung up about it. Plus, giving others gifts for Christmas, yes, I still do that but I keep it in perspective. My sweetie and I know that the real gift on that day was baby Jesus.
