I just finished watching the series and I don't understand what is the big deal about it. It was a pretty cool show but... it was as fantastic as people say it to be.

I agree completely. I've seen an episode or two -- sure, it's neat, but why do so many people worship it? neutral It's kinda like the Matrix. Toss some philosophy into something and suddenly it's the second coming of Christ manifested into a film format. rolleyes
What I don't get is how impractical the Evas are. They're much, much, much bigger than they need to be, and require so much power that they need a power cord or giganto batteries to do anything...what's the point? neutral

*SPOILER*Evangelion is a possible good show. The whole things is just a dream that Shinji's has
Angels and eva's = certain gods of greek mythology
Three magi= the three wise men
adam and lillth= i for got which mythology
eva's= is a mother that holds a child( the eva's needed souls of a mom of the pilot)
lance of longinus= the spear that when in Jesus Christ( suppose to give godly power, hitler went after it). This spear was carried by a soldier turned monk(longinus)
tree of life( jewish mythology)
dead sea scrolls= past telling the future
