well both of them are vary smart. kudo can find the feack. but kid alwa gets away so thay are both vary samrt. i dont thinke one is smarter. thay are almost equwels.

...Sorry. I mean to say: if you read "Magic Kaitou", the dis-continued series also by Aoyama, you'll know that Kaitou isn't as smart as he lets on. Haha...

They say Kid has an IQ of 400 but no one knows what IQ scale was used.
And Kudo is very smart too since he is able to solve any case just about.
so in my opinion i say they are pretty much equals but being more Of a Kaito fan than a Conan fan i have to say Kid is smarter but just a little

i would say kudo cause he always catches kaitou but kaitou too cause he always escapes

of course its conan he figures out all of kaito kids tricks.
Kaito kid is just someone who is great at magic. now that doesnt mean he is like super smart

Its Kudou because even in the third movie all kid did was follow Conan.

They're pretty evenly matched, but Kudo wins. Kid might be able to impersonate people flawlessly, but Kudo can tell what people do from a handshake

Why?
Because Conan (Kudo Shinichi) has been able to discover the tricks of Kaito, his disguise and many more!!!!

ive seen observed and studied every episode made so far and kudo is actually smarter
kid just seems smart because of his trick methods but my opinion is kudo is smarter
