Gluttony is a male dwarf roguish worrier. He carries with him a double sided war axe, a bandoleer with trowing knifes on it, in my pack/on my person: 3 flasks of oil, 3 torches, a small hand mirror, a box of tender twigs (matches), a trenching spade, 2 canteens (1 of water, 1 of ale), thieves tools, bed role, 2 bars of soap, 1 flask of perfume, 2 maniacal (handcuffs). a sledgehammer, 4 wooden stakes, a wet stone, and an amulet with a boar head engraved on it and a tear drop shaped blue stone in the middle of the boars forehead.
Tired of the politics of his people. When his beard was still short, Gluttony ran from the mountains with nothing but a small axe and his father's amulet and found a home with the humans, and halflings. Learning a thing or two from the halflings about the alien art of stealth, and escape artistry. The humans teaching about tactics and preparation, though its very hard at times to fight his racial instincts to rush in and swing his axe till no one is left standing.

Hokay. A few minor adjustments. There are no wooden matches in this world per se, so you'll have to make due with a tinderbox, which containes a flint and a striker, a small bit of coal, and some wood shavings. Also, while you are fully capable of carrying all of this gear, It unfortunately goes a little beyond "within reason" So I'm going to have to ask you to pare it down a little. I am all for being creative with the tools you have at your disposal, but I'm not going to allow you to conveniently have all those tools instantly at your disposal. You may have the items we discussed in the PM. A Length of rope, a portable spade/entrenching tool, A bar of soap and a hammer. And wen I say hammer I mean a hammer, not a sledge hammer. there is a biiiig difference in size and weight between the two. You also get the tinderbox. You may also choose 3 items from the assortment you posted. and I don't mean 3 torches as one choice a canteen as another and the stakes as a third. I mean a torch. or 3 torches if you want to use all three as your choices. The theif's tools (a set of 3 lockpicks and a probe) count as one item.
your weapons are fine as well. In addition to your battleaxe, you have 5 throwing knives in a bandolier.
Beyond that, I am afraid your character will just have to make do with what he can pick up.

no biggie, I figured I would have to leave some stuff behind, more then I was hoping but hay " what are worldly possessions, that we can't take them with us" lol. I'm going to assume your not going to make me pick my amulet for one of my three items. I'm going to take the thieves tools, small mirror, and a flask of oil.
Just to clairify so I get those things in addition to: the rope, hammer, bar of soap, spade, and the tinder box yes? ..... and weapons of course

So final inventory is: A Pack containing 50' of rope, a Hammer, a bar of soap, a small mirror anda flask of oil. on your belt are the folding spade, and the pouch containing your thief's tools. You are wielding a double headed battlexe, and are carrying a bandolier of 5 throwing knives. You have 20 Body Points(BP). If you are ready to begin I will explain the situation.

Oh sorry You have the Tinderbox as well. just forgot to mention it.
The situation is thus: One night after drinking and wenching the spoils from your latest adventure, you awake to a subtle knock at the door. It is a messanger sent by the local Duke, Vedic Brisbane. Brisbane wants you to track down a group of bandits who are using an old abandoned temple as their base of operations. Their leader, Malarus, is an expert in the black arts, and seems to have come into possession of a letter from the Duke to The Countessa of Betany containing information of a rather personal nature. It would be disasterous if this information got out. The mission is to find this letter and destroy it. If, however, you find that the seal has been broken, you will also have to kill Malarus to insure the information dies with him. You will be compensated handsomly for your efforts. Enough to keep your belly and lap full for for many long knights to come. You will be acompanied by Triskal, the half elven ranger. He is loyal to Brisbane and is there to assist in any way he can.
At the outset of this adventure you have just reached the outskirts of the temple. The temple is located in a clearing in the middle of a forest. the clearing is roughly circular, with the temple sitting about 100 feet away from the edge of the forest from any given point. You are facing north and are protected from view by the treeline. you can see the main entrance to the temple ahead of you. the temple is old and its stonework cracked and crumbling in places. It is roughly round in shape and domed at the top, but on the western side you can just make out that it branchs off slightly. The Main entrance is guarded by 2 bandits wearing rough leather armor, the one on the left is armed with a worn, but hefty broad-axe, even from where you are you can see the blade is chipped and stained... but it is still a deadly weapon. The bandit on the right is holding a rusty pick-hammer. Niether of them can see you where you are, but both are alert, and would certanly spot you if you came out from the trees.
It is now your move.

... ok is the temple only 1 story? Are there any window's? If so can I see anyone from them? is there anything between the guards and the temple (fence, wall, etc.)? (you know someplace for there to be more guards that are out of view) since there is a branch off from the main front part of the temple there would logically be a corner where the front and branch off meet, is that corner out of the peripheral view of the guards? is there thing note worthy about the ground (I'm assuming there's grass, is it wet or soft or unusually dry? how easy would it be to see my foot prints beyond the edge of the forest?)

The temple is effectively one story with the main building being comprised of a high dome. From your vantagepoint, you can see this much of the temple: there is a crook where the main building meets the extension, but Bandit 1 would only need to turn his head to see you. There are indeed windows, but they are either boarded up or sealed with cement. Furthermore, while you aren't sure whether or not the guards could see your footprints... its more likely that they will see you if you attempt to break cover. It is only 100 feet from the treeline to the temple. I remind you however, the tree line extends fully around the building. The Grass itself is niether particularly dry nor wet. It comes up to about your ankles and appears to be a healthy shade of green.

I motion for Triskal to follow me. I have us (while keeping out of view in the trees) scout out the crook of the building and the western part of the temple.

The Crook of the building is nothing speciall... too wide of an angle to main tain propper concealment for very long. The western vew of the buuilding reveals another entrance guarded by a single bandit. He is carrying a shortbow and appears agitated, as if expecting an attack at any time. Like the other bandits he is clad in rough, ramshackle leather armor, and has a longknife strapped to his hip. He is currently scanning the treeline and fingering the arrows in his quiver nervously. You also notice, to the northwest, a small adobe outbuilding. There is no doorway visable from your position.

I have us (still using the cover of the trees) scout the small building to the northwest, settling in the trees directly north of the single guard.

As you approach the building younotice 3 things.
1. It has no roof or windows.
2 .Its dorway has no door, and faces due north.
3. It smells horrible.
Why don't you go ahead and roll a check for me. Success on a 15 or higher.

Well. You can't do much better than that.
You see something sparkling in the failing light. Even from where you are, you can make out that it is a key sticking sticking out of the pile of snking stuff in the building that can only be midden.
