Odyssey leaned against the counter quietly flipping through a catalogue. She was looking for more stuff to cram into the shop as well as just pretty shiny trinkets for herself. Never-the-less she waited for someone she had called some moments ago to come pick up an item they had recently purchased.
"Go ahead and give me this one's journal, Humfrey Two." Odyssey called out after checking the clock for what seemed to be the millionth time today.
Humfrey Two replied with a snort, "No, it is my job. Might not mean much to you, but I want to do it."
Odyssey rolled her eyes and shrugged, "Like you have people skills," she mumbled under her breath.
"I HEARD THAT!"

The raven haired woman stopped her walk at the window of shop. She checked the paper in her hands, confirming the address. "Umm... Not what I was expecting, but it's in the correct place." From the windows it looked like it was a junk shop. Amiliane sighed to herself. Well, it didn't matter, this was the shop that had the Xanth cross she had asked about.
Opening the door she saw even more stuff everywhere. A person spend days here and still not see everything, she mused to herself. "Hello? Is there anyone here?" Ami was hesitant to step much further into the shop.

No sooner had the woman called out when Odyssey peeked around the shelf, blinked a time or two then grinned, "You made it! I was worried that I gave bad directions." She greeted Amiline cheerfully and stepped from around the shelf to be more visible.
"Come in, come in, we are mostly friendly here." Odyssey was trying to be as welcoming as possible so as to make sure to make up for the short comings of her grumpy and gnomish man who hasn't yet made an appearance.
"I have everything ready. Humfrey Two is probably getting your journal-book finished up." The blonde explained while adjusting her specticles higher up along the bridge of her nose.

Amiliane smiled at the friendly woman and did as she was told and came closer, careful of where her feet went. She really didnt want to break anything in here. "No, no, the directions where fine. I walked here, thats why it took me so long."
An eyebrow lifted when the woman started to talk about a journal. "Sorry, but what do you mean by someone is finishing up my journal?" Amiliane did look a bit confused.

Odyssey just giggled at Amiline when she mentioned at what took her so long. This world had so many ways to get around, why should one walk? No matter, there were important things to talk about. One of which being that cross, and the journal.
"Oh yes, a journal to help you keep track of things. It also gives you a list of things to get when I have the antidote mostly ready. You are aware you will be taking care of a child after I have stuff ready, right?" She seemed to fret for a moment, "'Cos I was going to ask you for her name and I may have forgotten to tell you about that part. I do not wish to spring such things on you." Odyssey became somewhat tearful and pouty at the very thought. Had she messed up? She obviously hadn't finished explaining the journal yet.

Ami was trying to keep her jaw from falling. This odd woman kept rambling, that is untill she started to look worried. The young woman grinned at Odyssey, "I know about the cross changing. That was one reason why I called you looking for the Xanth shop." Amiliane couldn't whipe the silly grin off her face if she wanted too.
"I was unsure why there was a journal, but now I understand. And I think it might be of use. But er, I have another question. That is if you don't mind," Ami was getting to become a bit worried again so she went right to the question, not waiting to hear her answer. "How long will it be untill you have the antidote ready?" Okay so really wanted to know why it was an antidote, but that question could wait.

She looked happy once Amiliane apparently told her the right thing as she was quite cheerful there after, "Well the antidote can take anywhere from a week or even more depending on if I can get everything to go correctly. It also depends on how long it takes you to get additional items. I have people do it that way just so it is like a bonding experience with their soon to be child." Odyssey explained.
A moment of pause, "Your child can't really change back to human on her own so she needs to come here so we can help make that happen. She won't remember anything of her former life until much later if at all." Odyssey explained. In truth the item-turning potion was like a poison in that effect. Though to use such a term would be alarming.

Ami's mind soaked in the information while also coming up with many questions but one statement did stand out, "Wait, what do you mean she won't remember her former life? What happens if she does remember? What if she was some amazing person and decides she rather die then life without that livelihood? And how do you know she's female?" Amiliane had to take a break from her interrogation to breathe and wait for some answers.
The woman was looking flustered, very confused, and it was obvious she was holding back several more questions.

Odyssey's eyes went a bit wide at the question, but when the rapid-fire completed she sighed a bit gathered in some breath and began a return-fire of answers...At least the best way she knew how to answer them.
"I know the gender because I was there when she was changed into an item. They come to me and my business associate over in Xanth in order to get transport to Gaia. I cannot, however transport living people and so they need to either be an item. Nothing big mind you, but small enough for me to safely transport. Last time I transported a living being with me they ... turned inside out." Odyssey paled faintly at the memory but continued on, "If she remembers something, hopefully she comes to you and talks to you about it if you understand it or not. You are after all now her mother for all intensive purposes."
Then Odyssey laughed and shook her head, "Amiliane, they would not come to us if they wanted to stay. We are an transportation service. Our promise carries that of a new life, and those that come to us want a new life. It isn't like we run around turning random people into items at a whim."

Amiliane took a deep breath and made herself stop thinking so rapidly. Most of her questions were about the person her cross once was. But finally she started to take in what Odyssey was saying; that her cross was being granted a new life. A life with her as its mother! She took another deep breath while making herself to remember that the girl who'd come out of the cross may remember what she once was.
A smile crossed her lips as she chuckled alone with the blond lady, "I do hope you try not to do that." Ami leaned against the desk, "Alright, I'm getting to understand this much more, so is there anything else I need to know? Anything I need to be aware of?"

Odyssey thought on that for a moment and shrugged, "Your child also has a talent, and it will likely manifest in her new life. Other than that I do not think there is anything else. Please follow me to the counter." Oddy was the type to roam the shop and thus often time she was in another part of a shop when the people come one than where she started at.
"Do you have a name for your item?" Oddy asked as she seemed to move to the counter and then get behind it so as to get the cross and it's certificate. At the same time a short gnomish man hobbled out with a journal-like book in his hands.
"Here is yer journal. It's t'help you keep track of stuff and you'll get messages in journal to help guide you in y'care of the child." Humfrey Two muttered and plopped the journal on the counter and retreated back into the backroom as if hastled. He certainly seemed busy.
Odyssey blinked after him and shrugged, "Err, feel free to ask further questions if there is something you didn't understand." The blonde giggled a bit with a small shrug as she produced a golden cross along with it's certificate.

The raven haired woman followed Odyssey in a daze. The talent part was new...What ever did the blond mean by that?!
Amiliane was about to say the name that had been floating in her mind since she heard of the cross but before she could spit it out an odd man came out. He muttered something and before she could say anything, he left, leaving a journal on the counter.
"Um, What did he mean that I'll get messages in the journal?" Ami still had that silly dazed look on her face.

Odyssey peered back at Humfrey Two and grunted herself and looked at Amiliane, "Well, the journal is kind of magic itself. What'll happen, firstly is that if I have an antidote ready to help your item become a human child, or rather a baby it'll notify you and send you on a task to gather a couple of things before. It's a way of prompting you into coming to us when all is ready." The blonde hoped she explained it better than her shop partner.
"Understand...?"

Ami still looked a tad confused but she understood the important part. "It can give me messages then. Alright, I got it," She said as picked up the journal.
She looked around the shop once more before stoping at the cross still in Oddy's possesion, "Is there anything else that I should know now?"

Odyssey shook her head after taking a moment's pause to think about that question, "Nope, not that I can think of. The process is still kind of new to us too, so we'll all be learning from this." She gently handed the cross to Amiliane, "I suggest you do not let this item get harmed though. The child may not come out alright if it is."
The woman nodded and grinned, "That's it for now then until you come back to us for the potion stuff!"
