Hope nobody will hate me for being lazy and copying this straight out of my journal sweatdrop First up is Xyre, the 1st pet I've ever purchased from a lovely Shounen-ai shop. Besides being scantily clad in his undies, he is quite the perky little guy, hopping around all over the place - if you tune him out, he sort of becomes just a blue blur in the background. XyreNow on to Gully, my beloved little clutz. If there is something fragile to be knocked over, you can guarantee that his curiosity will lead him to it, and his ineptitude for any sort of balance will bring it crashing to the ground. He's good-hearted, though. He doesn't try to break things - in fact, all he really wants is friends. And, if he can keep his balance long enough, and his constant giggle-fits ever subside, he'll fight for them. GullivanAh, Lucien, a character of mine from a good while back. His original history is a little too in depth to put here(aka I'm too lazy to type it up), but it should be known that he is a denizen of hell and heir to the throne until it was usurped, so now he's a pissed battlemage running around and destroying people's s**t biggrin Yeah, that'd be about as simple as I can put it. He's quite obsessive with his magic and power, and it's really just too bad for Gully that they ended up being siblings XD; He's not necessarily evil, though...just...missunderstood wink LucienAaawe, my babeh, Benjamin, or the little frufru boy, as some like to call him ^o^ He's still just a toddler, so he's fairly silent, save gurgling noises or vague immitaions of monosyllabic words. If you don't think he's just absolutely adorable, then I hate you biggrin BenjaminHomg, my Sirius Black custom cosplay! &w& If you can't tell by now, I really like my Malepharin Knight boys, heheh. If you know who Sirius Black is, then an explanation really isn't needed here - if you don't know who he is, then go read the damn Harry Potter books in order to stop sucking. SiriusAh, Cedric, he's like me in a lot of ways...with the name I wish I had. Shy, like social wallpaper, a nice kid, smart, mellow...eh, I'm not good at describing myself. Want to know what he's like? Just talk to me some time, heh. Weird thing is, I suppose he looks enough like me too - moreso than any of my other pets, that is ^^ CedricTavok! One of my favorites to RP, my feisty wolftaur. I should just post the contest entry that I won him with here...but it's so long, you'll all get tired of scrolling through text and run away sweatdrop He's rambunxious, into battling, but not quite as savagely as his fellow wolftaurs. He's got a much gentler side, loves hearing and telling good stories and participating in other such campfire activities. What he really wants is to overthrow the chief wolftaur in order to promote peace through his tribe, so all of his violence really does spawn from a pure motive. TavokThe other babeh, Emori! This self-conscious wolftaur is going to grow up to be a major flamer - I've always wanted an overtly gay pet, and he's absolutely perfect for the job, heheh. Figure I'll give him a sweet tooth, since he's candycorn themed, got him from a halloween event ^-^ Thank god for events, otherwise I'd be taur-less, those flatsales go too damn fast for my shitty internet speed x.x And any bullies lining up to pick on Emori better just scatter now, lest they want Tavok to kick their asses domokun EmoriAh, finally, my GCB! Been waiting a while for him - a first glance at him should tell you a fair bit. A morbid child, obsessed with the remains of whatever creatures he might come across, it is probably best to keep a sharp eye about him. If it looks like he's sizing you up and taking some mental measurements, then he probably is. It's hard to distract him far from the topic of death, but it certainly could prove interesting if managed. LucaviEeep! At long last, my shounen-ai boy! X3 I've been lurking at this shop for well over a year, and I finally just got my boy, heh. I think it's the 1st time I've actually won a competitive speed flatsale too, it's a miracle! Cody, my dear Tiger boy, has a fizzy personality to match his looks. While easily excited and outgoing, he has his mellow moments, and still enjoys a good stretch alone with his music. CodyIt should be interesting enough to see how Garin reacts to all of these people from time to time, if he does at all with the foreshadowing of his bookworm recluse personality. I guess we'll see!

Dear Diary...journal...thing, I just picked up Garin today, and the experience was far from what I expected. Sure, that "Oddy" lady sounded...well, odd, albeit nice, over the phone, but the things I found out once I arrived caught me off guard to say the least. It's all a very pleasant surprise, though, like finding a 20 in your pocket when you're doing the laundry...except then that 20 turns into a baby. Yeah. The book - that is to say, the child - is really quite exquisite. I've certainly never seen anything like it. The cryptic, glowing green marks on the binding and covers make it very easy to believe that it came from a foreign, even mystic world. The pages are like parchment, leaving me to wonder how people of this other world, "Xanth" as I'm told, would react to technology. More likely I should be concerned over how this world will react to Garin - a magical child running about the streets, what have I gotten myself into? Something exciting, I hope. My first venture out into the world with him on the way back from the agency, and it had to start raining. This particularly worried me as Oddy told me to keep the item safe, and that damaging it might harm the child. Not wanting to think about what water-warped pages would mean for Garin's welfare, I quickly tucked Garin underneath my coat and ran the rest of the way home, careful to avoid the puddles pooling in the cracks of the sidewalk. Now that he's home safe, I can't help but sit here and thumb through the pages. It's as if I'm compelled to read what clearly isn't there. Every page, completely blank. Yet I sit here, my mind held by something beyond text as my fingers are somehow warmed by the flutter of pages. They're too thick for me to accidentally tear, so that worry isn't on my mind, thankfully. I haven't told my other various sons what the book is, for fear of their tearing it apart out of curiosity. Nope, unless it's with me, it's definitely staying in my room, which shall henceforth remain constantly locked. I'm sure they won't be too surprised to be joined by another sibling at this point, although it should be fun watching them deal with the element of magic. Other than that, nothing else has happened since I returned home. Just thought I should check in and assure that everything is alright. ~Makokun

Dear Journal, Well, it's been around a week and a half since I brought Garin home, and I figured I should check in. While he's still only a book, I figure enough has happened since to merit another journal entry. Keeping him safe has been somewhat harder than I expected. I'd have simply kept the tome locked up in my bedside cabinet, but, knowing that it had once been a human made me wonder whether or not it required oxygen. Do inanimate objects holding one's soul need to breathe? I'd have asked my son Lucien, if not for fear of being consequently turned into an inanimate object myself. Not only that, but it just felt like a sin to keep something so enchanting locked up. The soft, mystic green glow has an almost hypnotic effect on me, being warm to both the gaze and the touch. Any fool could tell that it is no normal book. Being a literary connoisseur of sorts, I often feel crushed when I can't present Garin as the crowned jewel of my collection. Even with his pages being blank, he is definitely something to brag about. But my protective paternal instincts conflict with showing him off to the world, so I resort to keeping him locked in my room. One day, however, it seems that I forgot to lock my door - I'm only human, right? Well, my son Cody isn't completely human, but he's as curious as one nonetheless. I can only assume that he made his way into my room after I left, found Garin, and thought "Wow, this looks like a great coloring book!" because a few minutes later I caught him creeping back into my room with markers in hand. "And where do you think you're going, little man?" I asked, catching him by the wrist as he turned the knob to my bedroom door. "U...umm...nowhere?" he said completely unconvincingly. I could only smirk. "Taking markers into my room? What for, mister?" "Th...there's a really cool book in there...and it's empty..." How could I have been so stupid? He seemed to be asking me the same question as he tilted his head. "Nonono, that's not for coloring, Cody, sorry." That was too close! "You just go color on your brother's wall or something." And so he was scampering off to another mischievous pursuit. Other than that, all I can say is that I've been keeping Garin safe, waiting and wondering when the potion required for his release will be ready. Flipping through his pages at night, I become sure that I'll miss the tranquility the tome gives me, all while looking forward to the excitement the baby will bring even more. ~Makokun

Books, and more books!:
It's a little hard to keep Garin safe, but you did it! And it is almost time! Oddy has called upon you and informed you that the antidote is indeed ready, and to come to the shop after you check your journal!
Also, we want you to write a Solo-RP or Journal entry describing how you feel, or what you do after the journal check and call before you come in!
Also you note a new page in your journal, which was given to you by Humfrey Two. Journal Page Before you visit the X.I.A. Shop, it would be nice that you buy some toys and 2 - 3 books with empty pages.
Please bring these items with you into the shop! (Don't be scared to ask for help if needed. You may draw/create the images or find them online (as long as you credit where you got the images from, somewhere, later.)

Dear Journal, Well, it has finally happened! The antidote is apparently ready and waiting for me at the Xanth agency, meaning that I can quit worrying about Cody breaking into my room with his markers in hand and giving Garin a...errr...more colorful outlook on life, should I say? Although I doubt it would end up with such a positive spin on it. Now, thankfully, if Cody tries to color on his younger brother, a simple bath will be enough to fix all of the damage. The more I think about it, the harder it hits me - I'm going to have another baby around the house! My last baby, Benjamin, is a toddler now, and my son Gullivan really takes care of him nicely, so the new addition won't be an entirely new experience for me, but completely welcome. I'm just glad that I have had the past experience of taking care of babies under my belt, otherwise I'd be a nervous wreck. The prospect of magic, however, certainly makes things a bit more, errr...interesting. I'd been wondering what connection the book will have to Garin himself. At first I thought perhaps Humfrey merely chose an item at random, but the book seemed so warm and responsive(well, as responsive as a magical book can be) that I quickly decided against that theory. Will he be intelligent? Book wormy? Personality might definitely play into it. Or there was the possibility that his magic was book oriented. Of course, it could be both of these as well. But upon seeing Humfrey's entry in the journal, I concluded that books definitely weren't a random selection. A few books with blank pages? That was a rather specific request, but easy enough. And baby toys, well, I'd already assumed that I'd need those, so the shopping trip I took wasn't too difficult at all. For books with blank pages, I grabbed three journals, and then dove with much more interest into the baby toys section. Call me a sucker for itty bitty items made for babies, but I simply could not pick which toys I wanted to get on my tight budget. A rattle? No, too cheap...and noisy. A ball? Well, I'd wait until his reflexes and motor skills developed for that. I finally came across a rather appropriate baby book, complete with bright colors, cute pictures, and plenty of different textures. Since it was all printed on a very sturdy fabric, I wouldn't have to worry about him chewing on it either. But what if the book theme really wasn't related to his personality? I grabbed a plastic toy truck, just in case. And then, something every child should have - an incredibly huggable plushie! I nearly melted as I saw an adorable lamb sitting on the shelf, and snatched him up before anybody else could. He was just as soft and cuddly as he was cute, and I was sold. Well, three journals and three toys seemed like a good start, so now here I am, writing this, ready to go to the agency. Now, as I sit here, I can't help but wonder how this "antidote" will work. Will the tome actually take the form of Garin? Will Garin come out of the book itself? Or will there simply be lots of curious explosions or strange magical occurrences that, once cleared away, leave my baby sitting there, and leave me in utter confusion? Well, I guess I'll find out soon enough - Garin's tome is ready to go, as are his things, and I'm ready to walk out the door as well. So I guess when my next entry is written, I'll have an actual baby to write it about. With much anticipation... ~Makokun

Dear Journal, Garin is home! The process was unlike any I could've imagined...definitely no normal birth! I wonder if that's how it happens in Xanth...quite a strange land, I'm quickly concluding. I hope I'm able to keep Garin immersed enough in his culture, I wouldn't want him to lose something so...unique... I'll have to check back in at the agency about that. Anyways, he seemed completely at peace when he...errr...came out of the cauldron...worried me a bit at first. Don't babies usually cry when they're "born?" But the fact that he was suckling happily on a book calmed me a bit...as well as confused me. The only time he really wails, though, is when the book is out of his sight. On one hand, it's reassuring that he arrived with a book, it makes me think that perhaps he'll be rather scholarly. On the other hand...well, the book itself is rather unsettling. Neon green with a rather menacing looking skull bearing a red ruby eye...a scholar with an attitude? It almost gives the impression of a tattooed biker diving into Shakespeare as he hits the open road. Leaves me to wonder how those two contradictory images will turn out. Another thing I noticed right away was the green jewel that seems to be forever encrusted in his forehead. Ms. Oddy says it's nothing to worry about, but I don't think she realizes that children typically aren't born with jewelry permanently attached to their skin here. Not to say I don't like it. No, I rather adore it, it's quite unique, but that's the problem. He's definitely going to get a lot of extra attention for that thing, and I'm just hoping it's not negative attention. At least nobody will ever be able to pinch him on St. Patrick's day. He has been quite a well behaved baby, which, thankfully, throws off the biker image. He won't go to sleep without hearing a story, but once he gets his wish, he sleeps soundly. So soundly, in fact, that I'm often rushing in to check on him, only to find him sprawled out innocently next to his book, perhaps dreaming of more stories...or what to drool on next. All in all, things are peaceful so far. Will update soon. ~Makokun
