I KNEW I shouldn't have done that! XD
I thought I was all out and prepared for the E4 with my pokemon all at level 43. I completely blasted my way through the E4 and made it to champion Lance all smug and awesome-like. I thought, yeahh, I can totally do this!
Imagine when I got to beating down his Gyrados with Discharge first and saw that LEVEL 50-SOMETHING Dragonite.
"Oh hell..."
Getting past the E4 only leveled a few of my pokemon to 45. xD Not to mention I only had about 20 MooMoo Milks, no Hyper Potions, 4 Max Revives, and 2 Revives.
I ended up beating him anyway. (Yeaaah!)
Anywho, onto the topic:
Has something you expected to be simple in Pokemon ever taken you by complete surprise? Like how your Rival will completely jump you in the most random places, and you won't be prepared?

Aw, you should have posted this in my Elite 4 thread D:
His damn Dragonites took me by surprise, I thought I could take them and they annihilated me. That's when I taught my Gyarados avalanche.
I remember another time when I was on the SS Anne, and I was just about to head into the Captain's room, and the Rival came out and challenged me. Of course I had low health, that's how it always happens. Y:<

I realized I should have put this in your thread after I posted it. X_X Lawl.
I was skimming down the page to see if anyone posted something similar to mind and my eye just skipped over yours. xD
But yeah. I beat Lance by pure luck. I happened to have my Cradily transferred from another game. xD Protect/Toxic/Rockslide/Recover.
So I badly poisoned all of his pokemon and protected when possible.
I won by sheer luck (when I ran out of MooMoo Milks and Revives) when one Rockslide went CRITICAL HIT. xD;;

You can always post it again, or perhaps another story you have. My thread is lonely. ; v;
This is sort of like, a surprise type of thread. Something like "WOAH I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS THERE" or "DAMN WTH ARE YOU DOING RIVAL MY HEALTH IS LOW" stories like that.
I'm not sure if I'm making sense.

I'm unprepared a lot of the times if I'm in a Rocket Hangout, or if I'm not expecting my Rival, which is why I save a lot so I can always turn it off then back on if I happened to have low health.
Forgot to reply to your other post, I critical hit his Charizard with Aqua Tail or whatever it's called. It was the last Pokemon I had of his to face, and was SO HAPPY. Now I'm just chillin in Kanto, bein cool and s**t. C:

I know! Steeevenn!! Unfortunately, you only see him twice face to face, and then you get to stare at his backside for the remainder of time in Pewter Mueseum. T - T
UNTIL! SATURDAY!! Enigma Stone event comes out for the other Lati that's not in your game! :'D And you see Steven again. <3

You can see him as you wish at the E4 Entrance certain days. You can battle him. Yes!! Oh! You'll see him at Mt.Moon in Kanto, too. :3

I still didn't think Lance can do that. Lv. 47 & Lv. 50 Dragonites.
Since when can he do that!? Lv. 55 Dragonairs evolve into those Dragonites! xd
So it turns out, some of us aren't the only cheaters. xd

ugh, in pokemon Green when you get to the seveii islands there was this area that i forgot to explore so i was all excited and tooling around when i found this couple that wanted to battle me.
im like, "oh yeah no biggie lets go!" The guy had a tauros and the girl had a miltank. For some reason these guys were really hard. Its like their pokemon had even more HP than usual. I had to take out the tauros first because he was just killing my pokemon. the miltank kept defense curling so i left it alone. Big mistake.
i finally kill the tauros and now i focus on miltank. DEAR GOD. this battle took me 20 minutes. I used up basically all my revives and all of my potions. When i finally won i was so mad, i saved and quit.

When I was playing Emerald, I got to the Twin's gym and I was like: "Okay so they're strong compared to fighting type, so what?". I GOT BEAT DOWN HARD. Imagine fighting with a Blazekin (at level like......53) and half of his attacks are fighting types -__-;; In the end I finished them off though.....I didn't know floating rocks could be so powerful though.....
