Okay so my friend heart_of_a_fighter showed me this website, and it tells you who you write like based on one of your own creations. http://iwl.me/

I got a few for different pieces. Bits from my novels ran the gamut of Dan Brown and William Gibson. One of my random musings was reminiscent of Lovecraft. A letter/rant I wrote but never sent to a self-publishing agent got me Lovecraft, as well.
I love this site, I swear. I'm going to start analyzing my school papers now.

Apparently I write like Ian Fleming.
I followed the link they provided to Amazon and read through some of the book reviews and the occasional plot synopsis and I can see why I got that result. Makes sense.
Of course, I pasted parts of my bondage/romance piece I've been working on for the past week, so that might be why...

Writing like Dan Brown made me happy too, not gonna lie. His research skills fail him at times, but I just love his writing style nonetheless. And honestly, I don't care if it's 100% true or whatever; it's fiction, anyway, so all that matters is that the reader can imagine it vividly.
Sorry, slightly off topic. xD

I like Tolkien's style a lot. What genre do you usually write, Flea?

Well, the thing I plugged in was historical romance. (Did I get Tolkien because my story has swords?) Normally, I write a kind of light scifi/fantasy mix. I dislike high fantasy and found Tolkien kind of boring. I only finished the first LOTR book because it was a school assignment. X_X

I myself have gotten several results from posting different stories of mine. I had gotten Stephenie Meyer the first time which I found kind of odd, even though I think of muself as a good writer.
Then I got these people who I looked up: J.D. Salinger, Kurt Vonnegurt, Chuck Palahniuk, Margaret Mitchell, Harry Harrison, and Ursula K. Le Guin.

Well, I got Dan Brown, Anne Rice, Cory Doctorow, Stephanie Meyers (I was testing an old RP post I made probably... Last year?), and Stephen King. And the reason I don't trust the website: William Shakespeare. Seriously? I don't believe that at all.

Apparently I write like J.K. Rowling. Ironic. Ironic because my fourth grade teacher said, and I quote, "She's the next J.K. Rowling." Well, I got her the majority of the time. I also got Tolkien, Ursula K. Le Guin, James Joyce, and Stephen King.
I forgot how many times I got J.K. Rowling. I think... three? Probably three.
