Well seeing as "Ghosts of Ascalon" is a prelude to the game I would think that the happenings in the book will be accessible in some manner in game. For instance #1 on my list of things to do in game would be to visit Killeen's grave by the Dragonbrand (assuming it exists in game) as well as a myraid of other things that I find interesting through info collected from the books, or forums, or however. Feel free to make suggestions or explore my fancies yourself when the game is released.

My List:
1. Visit Killeen's grave (assuming it exists in game)
2. Explore Ascalon City (without dying as an added challenge)
3. Kill the 4 Elder Dragons; Primordious, Jormag, Zhaitan, Kralkatorrik (assuming it's possible)
4. Find Blimm's Tomb
5. Find either Magdaer/Sohothin or the Claw of the Khan-Ur (if possible and depending on race or just find both(all 3))
6. ...
