 What do you like best about Death Note? Ryuk, L, Light or is it something else entirely? Or do you hate Death note with a fiery passion. Do you prefer the manga, the movie or the anime? This is a forum for people to discuss all aspects of this series.

I enjoy Death Note because it's a smart series. There's a lot of logical thinking and suspense thriller in it. There are some characters that I can't stand, Misa being one of them, but for the most part I thought, for its time, it was very innovated and new.
I enjoy the manga more because it seems to delve more into the story and the characters. The anime does a pretty good job but, for the most part, the characters seem a little flat.
The movies....aren't bad. They're kind of their own thing after a while but they're not bad.
The only thing I really hate about Death Note is the rabid fan base surrounding it. I can't tell you how many years in a row that I've gone to my local convention and I see cosplayers as Light and L 'glomping' each other. It gets a little over bearing sometimes :/

I agree that the movies were a separate entity. I love Ryuk though he is so funny and his dark humor makes me smile. I also agree however that the squeeing L and Light fan girls need to be silenced maybe I will use my death note on them twisted

i like death note just because i like the iea of a book that can kill and death gods,i like the mana best then the anime i abouslty hate the movies

favorite character is Ryuk, perfer the anime, and the only thing i dont like is when light dies at the last episode i wanted to cry sooo bad cause of his death but the story was great though

kk so deathnote.. my favorites of the manga are the first 6-7 books cuz L's just awsome
u should check out L's cuppycake song on youtube...
mellos cool to but not as much..
i like the plot of the series and how the characters seem to be one step ahead of each other then the other person does something unexpected..
ive nvr watched the anime though.. only read the manga..

I really enjoyed Deathnote. I read the Manga and watched the Anime but the Live action just kinda put me off. I would think manga and anime is enough to profit from this story because of the mass amount of merch in stores like Fye.
I'll admit it... I cosplayed as L for Mechacon... I did not really enjoy being L#7. How embarrassing. I'll never play a popular anime/manga again. Especially when the Kira character stalked me... psychos....
In the plot I loved the twists and turns. I seriously cried when L died. The plot was just dragged on after that. I just saw the original plot as Light vs. L. Throwing Near into the plot just seemed like a desperate attempt to replace L.
And I do hate Misa. She was a idiotic puppet which probably pisses off a good bit of Feminists. She was the definition of spoiled bratty fangirl.

yeah misa is annoying but she did help light a lot though i never saw the movies and i never have time to go and buy the manga so i either have friends let me copy the anime or download it off the internet so i can watch it or if walmart has it i buy it but i really like never go to a book store to get more mangas sad

I could ramble on about the psychological thriller aspect of the series, or use it as a metaphor for social commentary... but I believe I will truncate myself to a simple:
