A storm rumbles overhead. "Not surprising," you think, as storms are common in these parts- the ocean lies to the east and the great tundra to the north. But this one seems odd...Different, in some way. You would normally see a storm like this coming; but these clouds seemed to have materialized out of thin air, far too quickly for it to be normal.
There was barely enough time to question the strange phenomenon; thunder was already crashing overhead. A dense forest looms a few miles in front of you. It exudes a sense of safety. It is obviously the best, and only, choice.
You quickly make for the forest, and as if by some strange chance, you see a path. Small and overgrown, but a path nonetheless. Curiosity gets the best of you, and you find yourself delving farther down the path, and deeper into the forest.
The trees become thicker as you move deeper. Eventually, it becomes so thick that you have to fight your way through the brambles and thickets.
After a few minutes of walking and fighting through the trees, you find the forest clearing out- the trees are lessening, almost to the point where they become sparse. Then you notice why: Up ahead you see a dark, almost black wall of...Something. You can't make it out from here. There's a hole in the wall. It's dark beyond the break. Night already? How long have you been following the path? "At least the storm is gone," you think, approaching the hole.
As you make your way closer, you notice that the hole is, in fact, a large stone arch set in the ground. A great wall stretches through the trees on both sides. What could be hiding in a forest such as this? It's too dark to tell from here.
There is only one solution: Go investigate for yourself.
What you find surprises you: It's an ancient city. Old and crumbling, you're surprised it's still standing. But just look at this place! Think of the things you could learn, or the adventures to be had! These ruins have laid out endless opportunities in front of you, just waiting to be explored. For this is the place of old, the land of potential...
