Should I restart my platinum...

I chose Piplup as my starter and I'm not a huge fan of Empoleon. I hate dual steel types. Should I restart and pick a different starter or is there a good in game water pokemon I should pick up? I've gotten the national pokedex and all that jazz.

there are plenty of everything after you get the national dex, the question you need to ask is if you want to play through it again or do you want to just train a new water type

But what water pokemon? And is houndoom a good fire pokemon or should is switch to heatran?

I would've chosen Piplup, but I like Fast Pokemon.

mine strategy has been catch a magikarp if I pick something other then the water starter, but there are so many water types in that game and there are so many good ones and as far as fire, you need to play as both to decide your play style. some people would rather have houndoom because they view legends as to powerful to use ingame
