Favorite Genre: Rock
Favorite Artists: Lots to mention, but Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin (just Stairway to Heaven), the Beatles are my classic favorites. As for modern, Eva Cassidy, even some Lady Gaga and the Killers are what I listen to.
Instruments I play: Acoustic/Electric Guitar

Been looking for a band for a while now, but can't seem to find any asides from metal ones.

Hip Hop and Rap are pretty much the same thing.
Anyways, I like Hip Hop/Rap. My favorite rappers are Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Ron Artest. smile

I always thought you can go slow with hiphop, but not with rap.

Eminem and Lupe is the bomb. I laughed at the other two. rofl

Some of Kanye's songs are good, he just overrates himself. And for Ron, "Champions" is actually not bad.
Eminem and Lupe are geniuses.

You can have a entire debate on if there is a difference between Hip-Hop and Rap.

But i've always maintained what KRS-One has said. Hip hop is the lifestyle or culture, Rap is the music of that culture.

I would vote for Rap in that case, and my favorite artist a lot to mention.
I think it's obvious I am a big fan of Lupe Fiasco other than him. Kanye West, Jay-Z, MF Doom, Nas, Eminem. Also a whole bunch of old skool guys like Slick Rick, Rakim, Scarface, Wu-tang etc.

There are some rappers I kinda like, Lil Wayne for example..but i'm waiting for that masterpiece CD from him otherwise he's pretty solid. like Eminem's latest CD is pretty sick.

Also Kid Cudi, but he has to do more and sometimes he's not even a rapper...but IMO I loved his CD and was one of the better CDs of last year, still listen to it at least.

I do listen to other music though. Really anything, RnB, Rock, Pop, Techno. I don't try to discriminate. Also I do approve of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bob Dylan. I don't go out and buy her CDs or anything but GaGa is pretty amazing that she has incredibly catchy songs.

Also I have to of course mention Bob Marley. If I have a bad day, that's all you ever need. Oh and Michael Jackson, his music was great and man I can spend all night listening to about seemingly numerous songs like "Dang..I like that one...loves this one..."

Edit
I somehow forgot Outkast. Outkast should not be forgotten.

Wow, didn't know all you people like rap. lol
Well i like rap too as my favorite but i also listen to rock
MY favorite rappers are Tyga, Lupe, Kanye, Outkast, Eminem, Run DMC, Jay Z, TI, B.o.B. Black Eyed Peas I cant believe i forgot this guy, Charles Hamilton. If you've never heard of him you should consider listening to him.
I have more but ill just leave the list short.
MY favorite rock groups would be Linkin Park
i cant think right now so ill edit this later on if i remember to.
But im starting to go away from mainstream like lil wayne hes starting to just sing in his songs and not rap and hes not good as he was. Btw, Kid CuDi got arrested for weed and some crime . So he'll be in jail for awhile. Maybe he'll be even better when he comes back like TI was.
Also, lil wayne had to shave his dreads off for jail.

That makes more sense.

Lol, Outkast is amazing, you seem to be into African-American music much? I guess it depends on culture.. and I agree about Bob Marley. He never tires me out, Jackson has some good ones too. Great list in general.

Lil Wayne has has to battle a soft image persona, and a hundred dollars I bet he is going to use his jail time as an excuse for how tough he is. The stories are going to be so disproportionate, and more people are probably stupidly enough going to try to follow his footsteps.

I don't think any artist these days doesn't smoke weed, Cudi must be senseless and careless enough to have traces of it lying around. But its just probably for a few months.

Speaking of Lupe, is he done making albums? And why hasn't Lasers been released?

You must have a lot of people there to teach you around - I know a lot of Filipinos who can guitar pretty well. Or you can learn by the Internet - some people learn from youtube videos. All that matters is effort and practice. It may take hours, it took me months to get used to the chord transitions, and years to master strumming (I still haven't, but I'm getting there.)
