So, i was on bulbapedia today, and it said there were new updates about pokemon black and white.
apparently, you will only be able to catch 5th geneartion pokemon until you obtain the national dex o-o

So what are your thoughts on this?
i sort of understand why they are only putting gen 5 pokemon in since Isshu is a remote part of earlier games ( according to the article ) but personally, i like the earlier generation pokemon a TON and i would have loved to catch some of my favorites sad
but i am also excited about the new pokemon. idk im kind of nuetral about this. its nice using new pokemon, but i'd like to use like 1 or 2 that i really like from before razz

I like the concept a lot. As much as I'd love to transfer my Luxray over to help me out, assuming the new pal park-ish system is after the national pokedex, I do like having exclusively new pokemon to play around with!

I love this, I think it will make people experience more Pokemon instead of just sticking with what they know and love. Also I try to do this anyway, it helps me learn more about each Pokemon and I suggest it everytime I see someone pick up a new game for the first time. Instead of sticking with the six that you played with in your last game, mix it up a lot and make an entirely new team. I was hoping that they would do something like this.

I love that they are doing it this way.
As much as i adore my other teams, I really think its a great idea to do it this way. So literally everything is new.

So what about the pokemon that evolve from earlier gen pokemon? Will we not be able to get them until after the national dex?
Although I'm sure there will still be some gen V version of Rattata/Sentret/Zigzagoon/Bidoof to annoy anybody.heart~<3

I'm loving this idea. Personally, I find it good that I will never see a bidoof or ratatta every again until post nat. YES! Also, I get more of a chance to encounter new favourites.
(And more of a chance to encounter Rankurusu.)

As long as they are not attacking you every 3 steps I will be happy. Encountering them ever since blue, you start to get mad every time you see the entrance to a cave.

yeah, when you start playing your game, you will only encounter gen 5 pokemon, Until you get your national Dex, then you get to catch the others.
(at least thats how im interpreting it)
