So as you may know (if you've been keeping up with the RP), The Major recently experienced a "work accident" and is currently hospitalized. He's been stabilized, but he has yet to regain consciousness. The doctors don't know when he'll wake up, or if he'll wake up at all.
This leaves Kilo and Victor without a head for their field garrison.
And I don't know what I want to do with that.
But then I realized that Kilo and Victor would have absolutely no power to decide what corporate wants anyway, so I'm putting it to you! You guys are now the Regulator Generals and/or corporate heads that work with the task forces. Congrats! Take this in whatever direction you want, I won't interfere at all, and I'll play out the consequences of what people choose no matter what.
I set up a poll with some of the options I'd see as more likely, but don't limit yourself to those. Hell, make it a mini-RP if you want. My characters have already decided they are waiting a day RP time before taking any action to see if The Major pulls through, so this isn't an emergency call that we have to wait on for progress.
Ideas I've had: 1) Promote Kilo - Kilo is Vic's superior now. She has more freedom in day to day areas, but her professional actions will be under much more scrutiny. She'll be much more in OMNIDRINK's spotlight in certain ways and much less in others. Victor will be assigned a new partner or will be assigned the undercover mission since he will not have a partner to leave behind anyway. 2) Promote Victor - Victor will hold power over Kilo, and she'll be stuck with a new partner promoted from the Sergeant ranks. Either that or she will be given the undercover mission. Think carefully on that, though, because OMNIDRINK officials do know that Kilo has been unmasked by one of the rebels before, so sending her into the lion'stiger's den when they already have her face on file might not be a risk they'd want to take. 3) Promote another Lieutenant - Kilo and Victor stay partners, but now they have a new superior. I do not have a superior in mind. Since you're assigning them to me, you can make one if you want. 4) The Major miraculously recovers! - I think this is self explanatory. xd 5) Higher ranking official fills in temporarily - Someone from the higher ranks that normally isn't on the field steps out of their neatly pressed dress uniform and back into their gear. Kilo and Vic would be probably be dealing with a Corporal or another Major if that was the case. It means life will probably be harder for the two of them.
Other - You name it. Makawee pulls some strings in an unpredictable way, The Major flat-lines prematurely, Kilo and Vic get transferred to another unit, whatever. I want to see ideas. whee
Note: If you guys aren't into this, then just ignore it entirely. If I don't get any response at all, then I can decide for myself. I just thought this would be more interesting.

I was told a million times of all the people in my way Hmm.. I vote for Kilo getting promoted and Vic getting assigned a new partner. I think King should be Vic's new partner too. Then when the beta soldiers come along and take over operations, OMNIDRINK dismisses the troops that Betas replace by having them slaughtered by the beta soldiers. That way it'll 'encourage' the ones who aren't replaced to work harder, and the surviving soldiers can rebel with the Mechanical children. it took Ash in full tiger form while still getting his a** kicked to beat 3 Beta soldiers, so I'd imagine it would force people like Kilo to pull out all the stops when fighting em. how I had to keep on trying and get better ev'ry day

Only interfering on a technical note -
They're high enough in the ranks that whoever is assigned to work with the Lt. that is left behind (in Ash's case, Vic's new partner) wouldn't be a rookie. They'd come from the sergeant pool or would be a lieutenant from another garrison.

I voted for first option, because I think that it would give X some nice roleplaying obstacles that would be challenging but fun. 3nodding

I'm voting that a previously faceless lieutenant get's promoted for the job... Someone who's got less history of pussyfooting than V or K... I think having someone who's more of a hardliner step in to fill the void left by the major, to attempt to straighten the soft wrinkles out of those two layabouts would be good.
after all... Killing mechanical Children isn't all that bad in the eyes of Omnidrink is it? more cost effective than risking them continuing to rebel.

One of the reasons I wanted outside input so badly is that I wanted to do what OMNIDRINK would think was the smartest idea, not what would be coolest for my characters' situations. This makes a lot of sense from that standpoint. I like where people are thinking. I'm glad you're all willing to help. whee

I was told a million times of all the people in my way Plus it would make sense if they suspect someone aided within the Omnidrink ranks the escape of the mechanical children. Since the beta troops don't officially exist, Ash's collar is still presumably on his neck and PQ is considered missing. all they have to go after is Black and the aekean swat team. how I had to keep on trying and get better ev'ry day

To Ahs's first suggestion: Well, what good is King in the regulator ranks? He's a MAGIC agent, it'd be best to "return" him to that position and act as OmniDrink's spy. That would be OD's best option in that case.
And why totally replace the regulators with the Betas? As powerful as the Betas are, it's also nice to have cannon fodder and meat shields to use in Zurg rushes. Slaying the exsisting regulators and/or putting them out of a job will just make new enemies. Enemies with information about the innerworkings. Best to keep them on "our" (OmniDrink's) side.
