I've been speculating on how the bending art will differ to the new series, Legend of Korra. I've been reading articles about each philosophy of each bending arts and came up with my twist for the bending arts. I'm planning on using it for my RP which needs more people joining. scream

This is just little bit about my idea for my RP. I haven't come up with a name yet but for now I call it a fusion bending. Fusion bending is two elements working together to make a new type of bending art or new fighting movements. In the legend of Korra, all the nations come together and a few gifted few learned that bending art can come together. I came up with ideas for real martial arts to be base off of.

Water + wind bending = Create a new fighting style that is highly influence with Jeet kwon do. It is refer to "style without style" which mean it adapt to the fight and take advantage of the knowledge. Bruce lee said "You should be like water because water can come in any form such as a tea pot" The most powerful attack is the one inch punch which require the user to get extremely close to the enemy and a vacuum of wind is suck into the space between the fist and enemy. The final step is a punch which punch the air between the enemy to cause the enemy to go flying.

Fire + wind = Create a new fighting style that is highly influence by Wing Chun, Chinese boxing. Each punch requires fire bending and air bending. The air bending come from the coiling of the arm after an attack and footwork to confuse the enemy. The fire bending come from the punches. The air bending come in the agility which mean it is harder to land a hit on this bending art. A single punch does little damage but 50 punches can do huge damage. The main form of attack is a machine gun type of punches and this fight styles like shoot over 20 fireballs in a few seconds. It can either finish with a knock out punch or a fury of punches in a short time.

Fire + earth = True metal bending. Founded by Toph but later expanded in the future. This fighting stance is influence by Muay Thai. The fire techniques are from the sun warriors and the earth is used for the substance to bring to life. The user would use their fire bending to forge new metal compounds to be use in battle. The elbows and knees can do damage similar to a blade. The strong stance of earth and the dynamic attack of fire can break through any defense. This bending art is the combination of offence and defense combine. The famous finisher is the muay thai kick which is a extremely powerful roundhouse kicks.

Water + earth = Mud bending and it is influence by ancient Karate. Mud can be a solid or it can be liquid. The idea is to be prepare for counter and make the opponent tired. Think of how hard it is to move in the mud and the idea to tire out your opponent. The strong stance of earth bending give the user a calm mind and water bending is use to reverse the power to the opponent. Throwing moves are a favorite in this bending art.

Red lightning = All I can tell you is that it is a more powerful and accurate than regular lightning bending. I won't spoil it. It also can't be redirected because of the seer power of the lightning.

Fire + water = is a art form than a fighting form. This art form is influence by T'aekkyŏn . It is a dance that show the user can handle two opposite element together. This form use 80% legs and 20% arms. Using only the legs, the user can form water whips which make the user glide on any surface and increase their the speed. The fire bending come from the unexpected kick. This form is about a unique dance but can unexpectedly do fire kicks. The dance is beautiful to watch and the fire will make beautiful flower design in the air. The arms can be used to make steam. Again this form is not meant for fighting but it has the power to handle a fight.

The people who already sign up can't change their bending arts. You need my permission to use them.

yeah great idea i thuoght if a idea like that about a year ago but i have ideas like that ALL the time, plus when i go to college my major is going to be animation and game technology ohh and that roleplay stuff confuses the mess out of me, i just dont understand it crying

This is a great idea. Unfortunately I get a bit confused with all the different arts but all in all I get a pretty good idea.

To see a whole duel with these bendings would be very interesting.

Thank you. It would be interesting. The original Chinese arts which were base off the regular 4 elements has brench out to other martial arts.

There is a few more idea of combinations

Earth + water (different variation) = plant bending or can be called pure bending. It is another bending art that is not meant for fighting. It is used by the most devoted monks to restore nature. The user can purify the earth on which they are standing. The user will use soft earth bending to tend the soil while the water bending is meant to heal any reminding life. This bending art can make the soil of the earth live for health plant life and this bending art can rapidly increase plant growth. The user's bending ability depend on their devotion of nature and being a true monk. The special ability of this bending art is healing

Earth + wind = spirit bending. Only Avatars learn this bending art. Avatar Kyoshi was the first Avatar to notice the bending of two elements. (I made it up). Avatar Kyoshi started as a earth bender but use a iron fan for her Airbending. Both Earth and air are opposite of each other. Earth prefer to be in structure while Air is about freedom. Air represent the heavens while the earth represent the earth. The conflicts of heaven of earth open up the spirit gate to the spirit world. Avatar Kyoshi use this bending art to learn that "Only justice will bring peace." The spirits can be the oracles of the future or it can guide them. There is no combat application to this bending art but it is used to go in the spirit world. Be warned that these elements will destroy the user if the user is not aiming for justice.

I'm surprise that no one want to do my RP. Maybe it has to do with the bending vs non-bending conflict. Nature vs machine is what I think should happen. I still got a few more idea for bending arts but they will lock away in my RP.
