Once Upon a Time
There Was A Land of White
A Beautiful World Where Everything was Bathed in Gentle Purity.

But One Day
Darkness Decended on the Beautiful World
And Distorted Everything

Still as Beautiful as it Was
The World No Longer Felt Pure
Darkness Swallowed Everything

Oki and Yune looked around, taking in their surroundings. Yune flapped his wings and climbed up a tree. He sniffed the air. It reeked with darkness. Oki could catch a whiff of something familiar...but not. He shook his head. That wasn't important right now. "Senkei, your orders." Oki said as he looked up into the trees.

Senkei looked around and shivered a bit. Of course, send him to the the cold place, whatever. He tilted his head a bit, hearing the fox's question and shrugged. "I guess we're just looking for now." He said as he put his hands into his pockets and started walking. He needed to move and keep warm. It would have been great if he weren't sent to this place, due to cold, but he wanted to leave, so he got what he wanted. He looked up at the sky, then down at the ground, thinking of nothing in particular. He could just feel that something was up. Of course there was something bad going on, they wouldn't have been sent other wise, but still, it was just... Very unsettling.

"Yune, take to the sky and make a round, report any movement of any kind." Oki ordered and scouted ahead. They were bound to run into heartless sometime. The cold didn't bother the foxes, their coat protected them from the chill of the snow and wind. Oki stopped and snarled. He could smell heartless.

Senkei walked a little further ahead, hands still in his pockets. There were bound to be heartless somewhere around here, anywhere. It was the natural lot. There were always heartless, and they would always be there to take them out. but here, something seemed off. Way off. He hadn't seen any heartless, but lots of their claw marks in certain places, the ground, trees, things like that. It was almost as if they had struggled with something prior to their arrival on this world. But that didn't make any sense. Why would they be sent here if there was no problem, and someone was handling things? He kept walking, looking around the area, and came across something even more strange. An entire section of the forest had been petrified. And it wasn't just the trees either. A troop of heartless, some of them really powerful, had been completely petrified in that area of the forest. They just stood there, lifeless. It was eerie to say the least of it. Senkei tilted his head curiously at the sight. He didn't know of anything that could do that. Kill a heartless, make it disappear? Yeah, lots of people. But steal the life out of it like that, leave it completely petrified? No one at all. This was unsettling, and he didn't think staying there longer would make it any better, but they had a mission to complete, and whoever did this, if it was in fact an enemy, would be in for the fight of its life if it tried that on him.

Oki walked up as his snarl faded. Interesting, very interesting, almost unsettling. He tapped one with his paw and tilted his head. Yune came back, fluttering to the ground gracefully. Oki looked yo him. "Anything?" he asked. Yune nodded.
"Yes sir, I found a few lesser heartless to the east but there are more petrified heartless around the forest." he said as he scratched his chin. "Do you know what might have caused it ?" Oki shook his head.
"No...do we investigate of keep moving?" he asked Senkie.

Senkei looked down at Oki and then back forward, down the path that they were on. "Keep moving, there's really nothing here to investigate." He said thoughtfully, staring out into the space in front of him. He took a few steps forward and looked back over his shoulder. "Besides, we can investigate if there are more of these areas around this place or if it was a solo incident. It may give us insight as to what caused it if we know whether or not it's moving." He said as he continued to walk. From the looks of the area, it looked as though whatever had done that had left a while ago. Those trees and heartless had a lot of snow on them, and the snow wasn't falling heavily, so it meant they had been standing there for a long time, unmoving. Whatever did it was gone. Or wanted anyone who came by to think it was gone. They would circle the area and try and see if they could find who had done it. There was no telling what whoever had done that had planned for this world.

Oki and Yune nodded in unison. They continued walking, keeping their senses sharp.

Icy blue eyes peered from the dead branches. Her ears flattened. This is disappointing...they know nothing either? she thought. Velvet sighed, letting out a chilled breath, They arrived before the three did to check out the heartless population only to find the big ones as still as stone. It was odd. She shook her head and disintegrated into snow, blowing away with the wind. She'd follow them a little longer, it was her job to gather information.

There came the soft treading of footsteps from within the woods. Soft, barely audible. Stalking. Circling. Quietly. Slowly. They sounded like they were from a small creature. Maybe a small heartless. Maybe one of the creatures that had Caesar was talking about, turned, but not a heartless. Whatever it was, it knew they were there.

Then suddenly the treading ceased. There was a moment of silence before the sounds came again. However, this was the noise of shoes crunching down on snow. From the depths of the darkness appeared a man in red, his eyes a brilliant orange. The fierce orbs were clear signals of his decent into darkness if not the fact that he reeked of dark energy, something akin to Zeke's own darkness when let loose. Across the man's face was a massive grin, bearing large canines. He spoke, "Greetings." The voice was aged, and mature, full and deep. "I welcome you this dreary wonderland of black." He spread his arms in a presenting manner, dropping his head so that his hair fell before his face. With a flick of both wrists, a black and a silver gun appeared in his left and right hands respectively. Jumping backwards, he brought his hands back and unleashed a hail of bullets that was much like what Caesar had shown he was capable of accomplishing, the only difference being that this man wasn't manipulating time.

Senkei turned to the man that "welcomed" them to the world and scowled. He reeked of darkness. It wasn't unsettling, just threatening. More like you could tell that this man was not a good guy. When he pulled out his guns, Senkei's eyes widened with shock and fury and threw his right hand out as he jumped to the side in a dodging manner. With the throwing out of his arm, he had summoned his keyblade and thrown the right one out as his own bullet, the blade flying at the man in a streak of light. "Darkness." He said as he called his armor to him. He knew he wouldn't be able to dodge all of those bullets, so he wore his armor to protect him from the fire. He slid to a stop, gripping the left blade in his left hand and dashed at the man, gearing across his torso and slashing outward from the right.

About a half a mile in the air, stood a large man clothed in full, black armor, looking down at the fighters. He had his arms crossed, and where clouds of vapor would come from the grates in the part of the helmet that one would breath through, nothing came out. It was as if he weren't breathing. On his right shoulder, sat woman. She was wearing a small black shirt that only covered her chest, black sleeve like gloves that started at her forearm and went down like kimono sleeves, and a long, black skirt with a slit up the left side, that was held loosely closed by buckles. her hair was long and blackish purple and her skin was gray with glowing, deep purple markings. She was considerably smaller than the an as she was able to sit on his shoulder, and the two of them sat and watched the battle. For now.

The man ceased his assault as he saw the two incoming attacks. He didn't even try to dodge as the weapon embedded itself into his chest, merely causing him to stumble back six or seven exaggerated steps, but nothing more. It was only mere moments later that Senkei's second attack ripped into his body, connecting and halting as it hit against the keyblade already embedded in the man's chest. The body slumped over on the blades slightly. It would have appeared the fight was over as quickly as it had begun. A heart slowly drifted from the figure's body rising into the air slowly. Then another.

From deep within the man's throat gurgled up a small, weak chuckle. It quickly grew into bountiful laughter as he looked up at Senkei. Suddenly, the tips of the guns where against the boy's armor, and the barrage started again, with his target taking the hits at point black range. At this point, the laughter was hysterical. All the while, more heart's continued to leak from his wounds. And he seemed all to oblivious too the fact to care.

Yune flapped his wings and shot out a violent torrent of wind to push the figure away from Senkei so as he wouldn't take a direct hit. Oki ran through the violent gales and slashed at the man's legs with his blade. His lips curled back into a viscous snarl. The darkness was pungent. It made him want to puke. Yune observed the hearts pouring from the man and tilted his head, then he saw something strange.

While the hearts were being released, five streaks of purple danced across the sky, snatching up hearts left and right, seemingto consuming them. They paid no heed to the two above them, or the battle below. They were all focused on the task at hand.

The violent gust tore the man from Senkei's blades, causing hearts to gush into the sky. But the flow quickly halted as his body reformed back to it's original state. It was obvious now that this man was much like Samara in the fact that she had multiple hearts supporting him. But the amount of hearts released from him in that small moment of time, it was enough to be near an entire world. And he was still laughing maniacally.

As Oki cut at the man's legs, the man threw himself forward, sto that his newly reformed hand caught onto the fox's face. However, he didn't intend to out power the man and force him into the ground, he instead let himself be dragged along as Oki continued, clinging like a parasite and fire round after round from his gun into the foxes back. And since the legs were not a major part of his body, no heart leaked from them.

(Darn it)

Senkei growled as the barrage of bullets pushed him back. He left the blades inside of the man, smiling wickedly as he did, holding the chain in his left hand. As the bullets forced him back, reflecting off of his armor, he buried his feet into the snow and dirt, stopping himself from moving backward. As Oki went by and inadvertently dragged the man along, Senkei dove forward, seeing as this was going to get bad quickly, and he couldn't let his friend get hurt. He dashed forward and grabbed the man's wrist before he fired, pointing the man's hand toward his chest, taking the bullets and yanking him from Oki. He turned at his waist, digging his feet into the ground as to not be pulled along with him. He turned down toward the ground and slammed the man into the ground, pulling out his left key and ramming it through the man's chest and into the ground.

Oki bucked and kicked trying to shake the man off before he fired. He was grateful that Senkei managed to pry the man off of him. Yune let the winds dissipate and rushed made sure OKi was alright. Oki stood and shook the snow from his fur. Both foxes flanked Senkei and the strange man, waiting for some kind of attack.
