Alrighty folks, so today I was really bored and decided to make a dynamic signature image that would link to a site where you could find some details and stats about the all the badges one might collect in zOMG.

Get your dynamic zOMGBadges signature now!

What it does now:
Takes your Gaia UserID and Fetches your current avatar, current badges (which are saved to a database for some features to come), and spits out some BBCode or HTML to use to display your dynamic signature image with a link to allow people to view what badges you have.

Here is a working model: (Note, you might have to display blocked images if you are set to only see whitelisted images)
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

*Update* Points system is in full swig. All badges have been assigned a point value. Obviously, harder badges to obtain are worth more points, and those that are easy, less points. This point ranking system will allow for ranking to take place as imagined. The amount of points you have as a fraction of the total will also determine the "rank" pip that you will see, accompanied by the text for the rank. Those ranks will be based off of the US army ranks and will add another layered image to the whole.

*Update* The homepage now displays a link to show the top 50 badge collectors. You can click the following link to view them: Top 50

*Update* Now when you click your own (or anyone's signature link) you will be able to see all the badges they have, if you click view total progress, you will be able to see all the badges they have and all the badges they don't have by location. This will be handy to track your own progress!

What it is going to do:
The last thing I'd like to do is make a few different backgrounds to choose from for the image, as well as allow custom background images and colors.

How you can help
if you have any ideas or suggestions, please spit 'em out!

You can also "sport" the image in your sig/profile while its still in beta! In other words, try it and report bugs/errors to me.

How to use it

You can view the FAQ in our guild forums here. If you have a question please feel free to ask there!~

In order for my application to know what badges you have you must be using the new profile system and have the badges showing there. Once you have them showing on your profile, all you need is your Gaia userID (which you can get by clicking on your avatar in any forum you have posted in, it will be the numbers at the end of the URL of your profile page).

Once you have
a) badges showing on your "current" profile (classic will not work)
b) your gaia UserID handy

head on over to this URL: http://zomgbadges.co.cc/ and type it in the little box and click gimme! You will then see your custom siggy image, BBCode and HTML code and all the badges you have received.

How do I find my Gaia UserID?
There are several ways to go about doing this. You can hover your mouse over "My Gaia" and click profile like so:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Alternatively you can click your avatar in any thread you have posted in to view your profile URL with the userID in it.

And once you have clicked to view your profile by either method, you will be able to see your userID in the URL, like so:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

*Update* Registration is now possible, however its still pointless since there are no additional images to swap out to or member features. Login can now be done from the homepage if you are registered.

To register click your own signature image and on the page that appears click the link for "Register". The process of registration requires you to modify your profile "Theme Override" code. All you have to do is add the line you see on the register page. And for those of you who want to know, that code is a CSS comment so it will not effect your profile page at all. This method of registration is a sure fire way to prove you are really the owner of the account. All you need is to add that code and create a password. Also note.. for the love of gawd.. don't use your Gaia password, not because I can see them (because I cannot, they are sha1, md5 and salt hashed 'encrypted' then stored in my database) but mostly because I don't want accused of anything what-so-ever xD, and I encourage Gaia Member Safety!

If you forget your password, you can follow the same registration steps since after each time you register a new code is generated for your account. A new code is necessary anyway to stop people from overwriting your password if you forget to remove the code from your profile.

Over the next few days I will *try* and use my photoshop skillz and add some new image choices for everyone. On that note, if you want to help on that front please let me know ^.^

*Note* If you go to the site, zOMGBadges, and it looks funky eek please let me know. I am trying some Web 2.0 CSS stuff which works in IE8, and FF3, but I'm not sure about other older browsers.. maybe I'll check in some older browsers later.
