The setting: A simple high school setting, no variations on time or place. Just a good old fashioned high school of the 21st century.

Name: Sam
Age: 16
Background: Sam is a regular high school kid. His parents are currently divorced, though they divorced on good terms. He makes decent grades, and lives normally. Although there is one thing he has a problem with: his friend, Claire.
Claire and Sam have known each other for a long while now, and Sam has had a crush on her for a while. He doesn't quite know if she feels the same way, so he simply sits in idle wait, just being a good friend (perhaps dropping not so subtle hints on accident that he wants to be more.)
Personality: Sam is a bit of a quiet kid, only speaking when spoken to. He has trouble making eye contact with anyone, even if his closest friends. If you can make it past his shy and timid ways, you'll find a kind and heartwarming character. Always lending a helping hand and offering you a smile when you need one most.
