This'll be a thread for everyone to post about their airship. This can include your outfit, your tree, references images of your airship, your crew, and any cool information about it.

Everyone is allowed one post
. Chat can occur in the OOC thread I am making for this.

The Zone-Tailed Mercenary
Captain: Kilo (you can call her X)
First Mate: Victor (is friendlier than he acts)
Deckhand: Aaron (used to be an armadillo, is MUCH friendlier than usually wanted)

The Ship: Life is strange on this particular vessel. It's not a particularly large ship, and it doesn't have a particularly large crew, but it looks like a well-oiled and well-polished steel war machine. Modeled after a naval destroyer ship, it's been modified to include a pair of metallic wings that can retract as needed to assist in maneuvering the skies. It's gorgeous in its own right, but it probably doesn't look like it wants to be your friend.

The Crew: The limited crew is lead by the Captain, Kilo - ex-Captain of the Aekean Guard and a seasoned soldier who was forced to turn on her friends to help save them. She made a break for the skies with her partner, Victor, a fairly large man who doesn't say much and takes both his job and his life very seriously. They know each other disturbingly well, and have been known to go days without saying a word to each other while still understanding each other completely and remaining (mostly) trusting friends. They're pretty unamused at most things.

Aaron, on the other hand, is Kilo's pet turned human by the strange powers of the Casimir tree they have on board. He's curious, energetic, scrawny (especially compared to his shipmates), and loyal to a fault. He misses his old friends a lot, but doesn't seem to mind being a person all that much save for a few quirks. He wears an impregnable chest plate constantly, missing the comfort of his old thick skin, and he is known to eat bugs when not actively being scolded for it. He's a strange fellow.

The Tree: The inside of the ship houses the casimir tree itself, belonging to the Captain. It's well guarded and seems to grow without the assistance of sunlight in the depths of the ship's guts. It is a simple tree with a thick, sturdy trunk made of natural looking dark wood. Its body is marred by several large gashes, most of which have healed over, albeit quite visibly. Its leaves, on the other hand, are quite unnatural looking as they are half black and white, and are tipped with a bright blue color.

The Alloy Crux

Captain: PQ Gadsby
First Mate: Willamena
Mechanic: Retrostacja
Precious Cargo: Harlow Gadsby

The Ship

History: Due to the origins of how the ship was created, the history of the ship itself must be traced back to a very simple but important thing; The Casimir tree seed itself. As the rebellion against OmniDrink raged within Aekea's walls (see As the Gears Turn v2), the cyborg had sacrificed her home in order to continue the rebellion and keep her daughter Harlow safe. Many of the rebellion were living in the Orc Caves under the constant watch of the Orc shaman Makawee.

The shaman gave PQ one of these seeds and told her to take her daughter to the skies. Omnidrink could gain no authority over the rebellion once they left the ground, unless they used sheer force. Their idea of force was no match for the rebellion's, or any other fleet for that matter. Makawee also gave PQ's loyal mechanical companion Retrostacja the form of a Gaian. While he still retained many of his canine quirks, he took up the job of mechanic.

With the help of Makawee, PQ's friend Willamena was located and was brought on as First Mate. Once the ship grew large enough to house the 4 of them safely they took to the skies. Even as they lived within the ship, it continued to grow around them, little bits of it's appearance altering to match their varied personalities.

Description: While some ships look like the ship was built around its Casimir tree, this is quite unlike that. The ship itself is the tree, massive and numerous roots twisting and bending to create the ship. No sails adorn the deck of this ship; it is said that the metal leaves of the Casimir tree are programmed to collect the kinetic energy of the wind passing through them, and this gives the ship motion. While there are no sails, there is indeed a large Aekean flag flapping in the wind as it hangs from a pole that stands alongside the Captain's Wheel. While the pole is tall, it is dwarfed by the Casimir Tree.

With several layers underneath the deck, it's hard to tell exactly how much is tree and how much is metal. Where the metal came from is unknown. The roots seemed to have collected it and grew around it in such ways that the metal became a part of the ship. Most of the metal can be seen at either ends of the ship, bent and twisted into intricate designs. The rest have been altered to be circular windows along the first level of the lower decks, and to create the basic structures of hallways and rooms underneath. Nevertheless you can still see random jagged shards sticking out from between roots. It's as if the tree hasn't decided on where to put them.

The Crew

PQ had been very selective when deciding her crew. Many of her close friends had AirShips of their own, and there were very few others in Gaia that she could trust to help run the massive ship. If it had just been a machine, she could have done it herself without too much trouble. But with the magical influences, the cyborg was at a loss.

Her daughter Harlow was the first to volunteer. While only 4 years old, the half-orc girl was probably the least qualified to help manage a ship. But with her perky personality, her constant smile and her tie to the magical aspects to the tree, how could anyone say no?

Retrostacja was going to come along regardless of him being a dog. PQ was his owner/best friend, Harlow was his other best friend, and he never went anywhere without them! But when Makawee gave him human form, it was even easier to decide where he was going! Of average height and slightly stocky, the young man is either following PQ or Harlow around constantly (even if he still has mecha fleas). No matter how much Harlow tries to comb his hair, it is absolutely untameable. With an energy that is almost nauseating, he bounces around with a smile on his slightly scruffy face at all times, he is still obviously the same Retrostacja. While he is pretty often on the quiet side, he does say things when it's important. Most of the time he stays quiet, with an occasional growl to emphasize a silent point.

The cyborg wasn't sure how Willamena had ended up in Aekea. The vampiress was a very proper woman in many ways, being the epitome of Durem culture and fashion. But when she found her friend, PQ didn't ask questions. Willamena was ancient and knew things that would never cross PQ's mind. When she asked PQ if she could come along, there was no hesitation with the answer. And as the only other crew member that had been an adult for more than a few days, she got to be First Mate.

The Casimir Tree

Description: The Casimir tree stands at over fifty feet tall, it's smooth light brown bark giving away to metal as its branches twist and curl above the deck with a mixture of organic and metallic sheen. Even in the wood, bright blue screws seem to hold together an imaginary seam that extends from the base up to the top of the trunk. The leaves that grow from the many branches share this mesh of nature and science. While some leaves are vibrant greens and feel natural to the touch, others are bronze, silver and gold and seem to be forged from ore. When the wind gusts through the, the leaves sound like a unique wind chime. Other airships can hear it from miles away, and know that the fleet will not be far away.

After a mostly-Aekea-unrelated trip, Charlie came into possession of a Casimir Tree. That isn't the point though, the point is... THE FLASH GORDON. Yes, that's right. THE FLASH GORDON. That would be Charlie's boat with the uncanny ability to fly, but it'd be a bit of a dishonor to refer to it to an airship. Not a dishonor to the boat persay, but a dishonor to airships everywhere because frankly... There isn't much special about it.

You see, after realizing what a casimir seed meant, Charlie dedicated himself to getting an airship out of the combination of cool factor, and to see if they actually worked. But like any man, he figured a DIY one would mean more than glamourous polished hulls and sails. This meant a salvaged 60's era speedboat, haphazardly repaired and refitted with bits and pieces of updated technology, to where it resembled less a boat but a block of mismatch-welded steel chugging through the skies in an unsteady fashion.

Essentially, there is a deck with steering, engine at the back, and a few ripped up leather seats on top, mostly in assorted colors of navy, brown, and cream, and stairs to a lower level with a double-cot, a few blankets, a restroom, and cabinets. Please note though that most of the facilities are in various states of disrepair, things being patched to suit Charlie's needs in the clumsy manner that a one-handed man would fix things in.

The Casimir tree makes up the focal point of the top, appearing to be a regular orange-leaved tree with maple-style leaves, and a gnarled silver trunk. Upon closer inspection, one can see the silver swirl-shaped barbs around each of the vividly colored leaves.

After all this description, it should be noted that luxurious or not, Charlie loves the Flash because he made it himself... even taking the time to add the clumsy navy blue and orange racing stripes down the side. He's fiercely defensive of his hard work, and much more confident in its abilities than he should be. But then again, the Flash has been known to pull ahead in tight spots. Maybe it's the crazy huge engine in the back?

Picture may eventually go here.
But until then, nothing.
Please let me know if I need to edit this into a certain format.

The S.S Walrus
Captain and First Mate: Frogger and MANtis
The Ship: S.S Walrus
Casimir Tree:(ignore the other drawing)
The tree is meant to be modeled after the gogh reed scarf that Frogger likes to wear at times when she travels. Bottom of the tree is soft and loose like the fabric, but as it moves up it becomes more hard like wood. The flowers of the tree constantly have the glowing pollen encircling them. The tree is also very tiny like a bonsai tree.

Ship- The House of cards. [X] This riverboat styled tub is the mechanical children's party wagon of sorts. Many of Gold mountain's employees have been hired on as pit bosses, servers, and card dealers aboard this luxurious ship.

Casimir tree- (coming soon)

History- Originally the ship itself had belong to the late Gambino, and was then a normal ship. Ash had won it in an online auction hosted by the Von Helson family. It would never have become an air ship, had it not been for a singed casimir seed that fell out of the sky. After learning what the seed was capable of, and where it came from, Ash planted it in a small pot on board the ship, where it grew seemingly overnight into a tree modeled after the four suits in a deck of cards.

HoC crew- Captain Ashlee "Badguy" Faust, maintains its operations in the bridge. His 3 headed puppy has been seperated into triplets by the magic of an orc witch doctor.

S.S. Sol Flare

Exterior:
S.S. Sol Flare (Current Model)
S.S. Sol Flare (previous model)

Tree: Sun Tree

Crew:

First Officer: Lucian Diamuid

Second Officer: Cepheus Zephys

Doctor: Shou Sasaki

Communications: Paku Remitz

Navigator: Jabber Wyrm

Engineer: Ume Tutha

Quarter Master: Yuri Oska

Cook: Julian Reon

Assistant Cook/Engineer: Vivian Diamuid

Gunner: Sirah Conchita

Merchant: Noir Remitz

Ship Description: A decently sized ship for general purposes. Mainly built for holding cargo but it has its own set of defenses. A chemical bladder is attached to the figurehead/bow of the ship. A solar sphere floats on top of it and of course, side cannons. The Sol Flare has been temporarily granted to Black by the sun god Ra.

Yes, it can stand the heat of a larger solar orb/disk but the crew mates wouldn't be so lucky. Luckily, this ship currently does not have duties to Ra so the big ball of fire is not on board the craft. However the Casimir Tree and and solar orb on the figurehead/bow still raises concern for the rest of the crew.

Ship History: Black received a Casimir Seed and the first model of the Sol Flare from the Great Sun God Ra. The ship itself was meant to be an escort. Small, fast and great cargo room but not so great at head on combat. Black designed the current incarnation of the Sol Flare to better suit for general purposes. After many deaths of Animated (particularly Taiko Drums), she was able to build the new Sol Flare. She rallied some friends and family to become part of the crew. For the most part, they were told to stay back from the balls of fire on said ship and tree.

Reserved parking for the Brass Barge.

User Image

the casmir tree: User Image

The Brass Barge is an old ship... You can't tell because many of the original parts have been replaced.. This is a replacement version of it... The old ship crashed... Mad Captain Vee rebuilt it from the wreckage (and from parts of airships he took apart without asking.)
The original predated the Crescendo and was seen in Gaian skies long before any other.

Nowadays you see it manned by a bunch of strange objects, a mad captain who was once it's mechanic, and a snotty teenager. The two don't not get along... It's just a bit of a personality clash most of the time.
Look deep enough, and the two seem to care for eachother a bit.

[Post reserved for The Bladed Tone ]]

Name: The Bladed Tone
Captain: Keel, until he finds someone who's better at navigating

Ship design and tree:
http://i38.tinypic.com/1493xuo.png
Colored version of Cashmir Tree :
((provided by teh Awesome Black Witch of Ra

General Bio: It isn't a big ship. It may look big from a distance, but it's no bigger than a small yacht. The best part, is that it was designed by Keel himself, after completing a recent design for himself. A new body that would allow him to weather the toughest attacks, both Animated and Omnidrink related. The Seed he found was all he needed to begin his work.

Originally, He would have made this ship self sustaining, allowing it to float on it's own, but He didn't have the tools or equipment to build a grav system that big. And now, With his ship complete, He's outfitted it with what he considers necessity. A sound system on both the outside and inside, so he can bring his music everywhere, and a special section in the Navigation/Captains Quarters to place and display his prized possessions. Under the upper deck is his workshop, where the tree sits in the middle of, while Keel's tools and various projects and body parts like around on the surrounding tables.

A secret, known only to him though, is the only true weapon the ship has, underneath the golden structure at the front of the ship. It opens up, like a mouth, and underneath is a giant speaker. Depending on the sound it plays, it can either push things out of his way, part the clouds, or wreak havoc on enemy ships. He's not had to use it yet, and he hopes he never will...

Mechanical Impulse

Crew:
Captain - Ace, nicknamed The Blind Bandit
Lookout - Chomp, the terribly sleepy demonic imp, as seen with Ace.
First Mate - Duke, Ace's loyal partner in crime.

Though the good ship Mechanical Impulse is fairly small, it is the perfect fit for its two and a half man crew. Shaped to mimick a traditional pirate ship, this airship screams intimidation, which was exactly what the creator of the ship, Ace, intended. She often says she is allergic to conflict, so she made her ship look intimidating so people would steer clear. The hull of The Mechanical Impulse is made of a black metal alloy, with details carved into it to make it seem like wood. traditional cannons have been replaced with bright silver air guns, which poke out the holes in the side of the hull.
The deck of the boat is ringed with a railing in the same bright silver. In the center of the deck a massive mast rises proudly, equipped with black sails. Below deck the Casimir tree winds its roots about the ground. The trunk is made of twisted black and white woods, with gnarled branches emerging irregularly. Upon these branches are silver leaves, but no fruits.

Suzume Densetsu

Captain: Hakobe

Co-Captain: Ex-Standard Police Bot #367

Mechanic: Eguze

Hakobe's airship looks somewhat like an airboat. Of course, it's modified for better protection/cover/aerodynamics and to fit her, Eguze, and 367. Its sky blue color was 367's idea.

The Suzume Densetsu lacks in power and size, it makes up for in speed and support capabilities.

The Suzume Densetsu's casimir tree has a gemini sort of feel to it. One side is a beautiful azure color, with crystalline leaves in the shape of angel feathers, representing her normal, good side. And the others side? Blood-red, ravaged and chaotic, like the bloodthirsty side of her. Of course, its split change in its look could not only be from Hakobe herself, but maybe from the stability of Eguze and 367's inlfuence and presence upon her. Those two keep her in check, preventing her insane, bloodthirsty side from surfacing while sailing through the skies.
