Queen Serenity walked through the halls alone, expecting her bodyguard to follow her. She walked into the dining hall, trying to find somebody, but nobody could be found. "They must all be busy." She mumbled.

A voice came from somewhere near Serenity, but the location was unknown."I haven't had anything to do in weeks."

"Its has been to quiet around here lately. To quiet for even a peaceful time." She frowned, "Do you know anything about it?" She had kept walking, knowing he wouldn't show himself.

"No clue." he said. The shadow appeared next to Serenity in a black cloak and iron mask. "Need some investigation done?"

The shadow walked away and replied, "Not as much as what's under it." And he disappeared once again.
Just as the shadow left, one of the castle guards came running to Queen Serenity and knelt on one knee before telling her the news. "Your majesty, one of the newer villagers has a grievance. Shall I send him in?"

Elise peered around the corner of a nearby doorway, being as silent as possible. She knew she really wasn't supposed to be out of the kitchen at the moment, but she had seen guards running by and became curious. She watched the Queen and the guards carefully, hearing every word thanks to her enhanced senses. When she heard what they had to say, she frowned.
Just another citizen with grievances... Elise thought, dismayed that it wasn't something bigger. However she stood still at her hiding spot, for lack of better things to do. Well, besides preparing meals, of course. But that could wait.

Serenity heard footsteps. "I know you're there." She said, not turning to face the person. "Explain yourself."

The guard sent in a young man, about the same height as Serenity. He had snow white hair, pail skin, and eyes while young and hawk-like, were aged and full of knowledge. Covered with scars from head to toe, and clad in the tattered garb of a fighter. The man swaggered and swayed over to Serenity and without bowing or showing any form of respect, he asked Serenity "Just who do you think you are?"

Elise froze, her eyes widening. How could she have heard me?! This...this isn't good. she thought, biting her lip. She thought she was a goner, but then a young man entered, speaking rudely to the Queen. Maybe she'll forget about me... Elise thought, beginning to slip away, back towards the kitchen.

The shadow appeared once again next to Elise and took her up into one of his many hiding places in the castle to question her about what's going on.
