Lately, there has been a noticeable amount of inactivity in the guild. Also, the member count hasn't increased significantly in quite a while. Many guild captains would "solve" the issue of inactivity by banning inactive users -- that's not how I'm going to go about this. That's stupid. If you ban inactive users, that doesn't increase the activity of your other users -- it just decreases the member count. Nothing is solved.
Fortunately, there is a way to solve inactivity -- let me introduce to you one of the most beautiful words in the English language:

thegamethegamen. something that incites or tends to incite to action or greater effort, as a reward offered for increased productivity.
Yes, this contest is indeed an incentive. That means that you, by participating and contributing to the well-being of the Asylum, have a chance at gaining recompensation in the form of digital wealth. Fantastic, isn't it?
Project Awesome will be a biannual contest of which there will be multiple winners for each round. It's going to be much longer than other contests that the guild has held, and no specific talent or experience in any area puts you at an advantage to win -- you just have to know how to post, basically, and I'm guessing you all are quite capable of doing that 3nodding

How much each participant contributes to promoting expansion/activity in the guild will be measured by points.
Points will be awarded when participants complete tasks on the task list. Different tasks earn you different amounts of points. The amount of points that each participant has will be kept track of in this thread.
When Project Awesome 2010 ends, the amount of points earned by participants will determine the winners. There will be an overall winner who has the greatest total points, and there will also be winners who have the greatest points in a specific category.
Any points that you earn in Project Awesome 2010 will be carried over to Project Awesome 2011 Part 1 and then on, when they occur.
However, once you win a round of Project Awesome (including winning overall and winning in a single category), your point count is set back down to 0 for the next round. This is a handicap meant to give others who have not yet won an advantage over recent winners.
Points will only be awarded when you complete a task along with all the requirements for that specific task. You can't just post spam and expect to recieve points.

Thread Creation: make a file in the Wayward Victorians board (50 points) points will only be awarded if you then post your link in the file directory. if you have made a file prior to the contest, you will start with those 50 points.Thread Creation: make a gallery in the Muffin Masterpieces board (50 points) points will only be awarded if the gallery has at least 5 picture-samples. don't just post a link to your deviantart account. if you have made a gallery prior to the contest, you will start with those 50 points.Thread Creation: create a thread anywhere else in the guild (30 points) points will only be awarded if the thread is placed in the proper board and is about something that others might be interested in talking about. don't just post emotes or a thread titled, "I want 30 points." don't "tweet," or just make a thread about how you brushed your teeth this morning. points will not be awarded for any threads made previous to the start of the contest.Posting: welcome a newbie by posting in their file (20 points) points will only be awarded if you comment on something relevant related to the newbie. don't just say, "welcome to the Asylum, b***h." that's effortless. show that you at least read their file. points will not be awarded for any welcome posts made previous to the start of the contest.Posting: comment on someone's artwork/writing (20 points) points will only be awarded if you comment on something relevant related to their artwork/writing. don't just say, "nice scribbles, yo," or, "cool story, slut." comment on something specific. tell them what you liked about it, and give them advice on how to improve. points will not be awarded for any feedback posts made previous to the start of the contest.Posting: provide a suggestion for the guild in the Questions/Comments for the Crew board (20 points) points will only be awarded if you suggest something that's not totally ridiculous. what qualifies as "not totally ridiculous" will be up to my discretion. points will not be awarded for any suggestions made previous to the start of the contest.Posting: post anywhere else in the guild (5 points) points will only be rewarded if these posts are relevant to the topic they're posted in and aren't spam. emote posts, one-word posts, and off-topic s**t in a desperate effort to be viewed as a "RANDOM SPAZZZ U GUIZ H8RZ GONNA H8!!!!!111eleven11" will count as spam and will not earn you points. also, this goes without saying, any posts that don't follow the TOS or guild rules won't earn you points, either -- they'll earn you a ban sentence 3nodding points will not be awarded for any posts made previous to the start of the contest.Expansion: bring new members to the guild (50 points per member) points will only be awarded if a new member refers to you when filing their join request. points will also be awarded if a new member posts in this thread stating that he/she was brought to the guild because of you/your signature. if a post is made in this thread by a member stating that he/she was brought to the guild because of you, even if the member joined prior to the beginning of the contest, points will still be awarded.Expansion: put a link to our guild in your signature (10 points per week) keep a link to the guild in your guild signature for at least one week. post once every seven days with the word "signature" to show that you have the link in your signature. 10 points will be awarded for every one of these weekly posts. if you would like to use the official signature, go here for the code.

Overall Winner: 40% of the contest prize accountThread Creation Category Winner: 20% of the contest prize accountPosting Category Winner: 20% of the contest prize accountExpansion Category Winner: 20% of the contest prize accountPrize amounts depend completely on the amount of gold/items in the contest prize account when the contest ends.
The more good stuff we have in the contest prize account, the larger the prizes will be.
I will be donating most of whatever gold I make over the course of this round.
In the event that the contest prize account holds any items, they will be distributed as evenly as possible.
The first priority for item prize distribution will be to the overall winner, then the expansion category winner, then the thread category winner, and then the posting category winner.

To earn points for threads/posts, please post the links to your threads/posts in this thread.
If it's the thread you wish to get credit for, state that next to the link.
If it's (a) post(s) that you wish to get credit for, post the link to the thread and state next to the link the post numbers.
Once the links in your post have been counted, the post will be deleted.
If you are wishing to gain points for having a link in your signature, follow the requirements previously stated to earn points.
Please don't reply with seperate posts in this thread for each link. Post links in this thread no more than once a day, with no more than one post per day.
If you haven't been granted points within one week of your post being made, please send me a pm.
You will only earn points for posts/thread creation if you post links in this thread.
