There's a huge case for there being a code in the Bible that predicts the future. I don't have the energy to get into it tonight though...

No, I do not believe there is a Bible Code. I think most of the "code" is coincidence.

Shadows-shine Basically what Mazuac said! I've also noticed how a lot of the time, it is about the future and the end of the world. Yet the Bible makes it clear that we will not know the time or date of the End, another reason why I have distrust towards it. ;]

I also don't think there are any secret codes in the Bible, because that would insanely ridiculous, just because God is a God of simplicity in the sense that His Gospel is meant for us to understand easily and if there were hidden codes that had alternate messages, then it just would make sense.

Yeah, I agree. Granted, in the OT there are hints and prophecies towards the Messiah and what-not. However, it is somewhat... well, ridiculous to look into what the Bible says further than what it, well, says!
Oh, and may I add. The Bible Code only works for certain types of English translations, while you would have totally other "Bible Codes" with other English variants, or, for that matter, any language variant.

There are prophecies in the OT that talk about the coming of Christ, but they don't hint, they tell of His coming. There are no codes to decipher or any thing like to try and discern what the prophesy means. Just like in the NT, there are prophecies of the Second Coming of the Messiah, but there are not hints or codes to crack in order to understand what those prophesies are about. The scriptures are so easy to understand and read. Man, in our finite thinking, like to try and over complicate things because we don't understand things at first or we don't think it all the way through before making a judgement call, which is why I think people are speculating that there are secret codes in the bible.

Yeah, that's absolutely correct! 8O I neva' thought of it that way!
And I 'spose the Bible code came from our innate yearnings to be able to tell the future. I mean, just look at the History channel. Every other day, there is a show about Nostradamus or the Maya Calender ending in 2012, Armageddon and so forth! XD

I am real cautious about watching stuff on the History about the Saviour, because the last show I watched about Him they were talking about His childhood and claimed that He pushed a kid off the roof, the kid died and Jesus resurrected the kid just to prove that He had that power...That to me struck a nerve and didn't sound like the Jesus that is described in the Bible. And if that claim the History Channel made was true about Christ murdering some one then Jesus wouldn't be the sinless Saviour.

Of course, be skeptical, but I mean... This will not falter your faith. It WILL make it stronger. Believe me. It's just. Wow! Basically, it is around this item called the Shroud of Turin. Which basically has the image of Jesus... Just look at it! IT'S ASTOUNDING!
