I am curious as to your opinions about building a Mosque 2 blocks from Ground Zero. What are your opinions on this?
Personally, I believe they have the right to build there, as stated in out constitution. This doesn't mean I like the idea of it.
However, I am also a bit skeptical on how the 100 millions dollars (if I recall) is being funded into making this, and of course I am a bit unnerved by Islam's increasing presence in our world.
I'm just curious! biggrin

I don't care if Muslims want to build a mosque, fine go for it, but not that close to Ground Zero! No! That is like a slap in the face to America. Plus the leader, the Imahm (sp?) is very controversial and won't denounce Hamas (sp?) as a terrorist group, he said that America needs to become more Sharia (sp?) law compliant (do you know what Sharia (sp?) Law entails?), he also claims America is an accessory to 9-11, and that Osama Bin Laden is a creation of America! Sorry but some one who has those kind of opinions do not deserve to have their mosque that close to where Muslim terrorists attacked on American soil. No!
So, in conclusion, I am against the Mosque being built that close to Ground Zero, but if they want to build it any where else, go for it!

Yes, I for sure know what Sharia would entail, and unfortunately many European nations (it seems like) due to large Muslim immigration, have established Sharia courts and such...

I just heard today that Mayor Bloomberg (New York) said that it would be a sad day for America if they moved the Mosque now... stare Don't know where he got that idea. rolleyes

I honestly have no idea, though it is a bit irritating. Christians have been persecuted ever since God created Adam and Eve, so it's not really surprising to me that it's still happening.

Did you hear about the controversy surrounding Obama's religion? People have been speculating whether he is Christian, Muslim, and some are unsure. Rush Limbaugh had played a soundbite today, it was an interview between Obama and some news reporter (can't remember his name) where Obama said "My muslim faith does (doesn't) allow me to believe that.." (some thing along those lines) and the news reporter cut Obama off and said "Wait, don't you mean your Christian faith?" And Obama replied, "Yeah my Christian faith..."

Ohmigosh! O: I heard about Obama having some discrepancy recently, but whoa. That is... whoa. I wonder what that'll happen into? O:
I also have heard that he has repeated the Muslim prayers, and has partaken in Muslim, well, Mosque stuff. That is all speculation but, yeah! XD That is... just wow.
Now, of course he has the right to be a Muslim. But the fact that he has lied to all Americans? That is... wow. (If, of course, this is proven to be true).

I don't care much for what religion the president is or what color their skin is, what matters to me is their policies and how it's going to affect my life. Their personal life has nothing to do with me. So yes Obama has a right to be Muslim, just as much as JFK had a right to be Catholic.
What upsets me is the fact that Obama has lied about a lot of things. He won't even produce his birth certificate. There is a lot of specualtion as to what country he was born in and a lot of people don't think he was born in America (which is a requirement to be president according to the constitution.)

I don't remember it all, but I don't think he slipped...Maybe, maybe not, but like I said in my previous post, the presidents religion doesn't matter to me, it's his policies that do, and Obama has some pretty extreme policies that are not good for this country.
