Introduction

Baratama is a unique world. All worlds are connected to it, though however distantly. Ever since the destruction of Eclipse Manor centuries ago, it has become the headquarters for what has become known as the Sky Board. Baratama is known as the stronghold of the Light, the great barrier that is holding back the ravages of Darkness. However, there is so, so much more to this world.

Baratama's culture is very much centered around balance. The very way they've named their hemispheres shows that -- the Sun Hemisphere, the Shadow Hemisphere, and the fragile Twilight Meridian... However, beyond their names and the names of their cities, they are not entirely different from each other.

Between the connections to the other worlds, the attraction of the Sky Board, and the so-called promise of protection against the darkness, Baratama has been repopulated. Due to the fact that its people have come from so many different cultures and cultures and worlds and nationalities and beliefs, Baratama has been widely viewed as a place of freedom, of escape. There were no laws restricting what one had to believe, how one had to worship, what one had to do for a living... Due to the invention of the Subspace Connection ("SubCon" -- basically, the Internet), it is nearly impossible for important officials to get away with lying. Baratama was open and inviting to all who wished to come.

And the people love Baratama for it. Its people greatly value freedom, balance, truth... Due to the hardships they've had to suffer through the war against the Dark, they know that the future relies on the children -- and hopefully, the same children would bring on the peace that everyone has been dreaming of for so long. So, the people of Baratama also greatly value youth; the future; their children...

Cities
These are just some examples of the cities found on Baratama.

Sun Hemisphere
Angel's Reprieve (capital city)
Gaea's Breath
Hopeful Requiem

Twilight Meridian
City of the Fates (capital city)
Cleric's Crossing (home of the Angel's Landing Spaceport and the Squire's Library and Research Institute)
Artisan's Byway (port city)

Shadow Hemisphere
Devil's Sanctuary (capital city)
Soldier's Deathbed
Demon Chateau

Recommendations
Cleric's Crossing and City of the Fates are probably the best two places to start out in. CC has the Angel's Landing Spaceport, so you could introduce your character by having them come through the Port. CotF is the capital city, and easily the largest city on Baratama. It's about the size of New York City, probably a bit bigger. It's a good place to meet people; things tend to happen a lot in that city, too...

Non-Player Characters
Name: Kazuki Endas
Nicknames: Zu, Zu-kii, Zu-chii
Gender: Male
Age: Apparently 17, but he's actually centuries old... He's just lost track of the years.
Race: Peroni (enchanted)
Origin: Derikan
Canon or Original?: Original
Alignment: Pure
Preferred Weapon: Rapier
Secondary Weapons:
Magic: Fire, Blizzara, Thundaga, Cura, Esuna, Full-life, Haste, Sleep, Scan
Physical Appearance:
Kazuki is definitely the kind of guy that girls call "sexy." His face is fair and his body is slender and fit. His soft hair is black and kept short. His bangs are arched (a la Vash, only not). What stands out the most about him are his eyes: they are a bright, vivid green. They seem to be very piercing; it's almost as if it's impossible to hide anything from him...
He always wears a black trenchcoat covered in silver zippers, as well as a simple black belt around his neck. His favorite footwear is a pair of black boots with white laces. When it comes to pants, it's not unusual to see him dressed in simple black slacks or red-pinstriped black pants. It's rare to see what shirt he's wearing; usually, he has his trenchcoat buttoned up. This habit has resulted in the rumor that he doesn't wear shirts. I can hear the fangirls plotting now...
Personality:
If one had to sum Zu's personality up in one word, there wouldn't be any doubt about what it would be: "guarded." He is highly protective of his past, his feelings, his thoughts, his opinions... It is extremely rare for him to reveal anything about himself to anyone. The people who know the most about him are probably Sair and Guru Clef.
He is a determined man who has obviously seen more than one would expect for his apparent age. Unless he knows that there is no chance at all, he will not give up. He's willing to do whatever it takes to get to his goal. He greatly fears failure.
He also fears betrayal. Trust is a major issue with him, for although he trusts easily, he knows that people will take advantage of his kindness. He doesn't seem willing to change his trust habits, either; he's as stubborn as he is determined, and he feels that his trusting habits are good and work. (... as you can tell, he's a bit of a hypocrite.)
Clef would deem him "too soft, too kind, too trusting." Sair would call him "honorable, responsible, and a good leader." Most people would say he's "strange, closed-off, but very hot/beautiful/sexy."
Background:
Only Sair knows the entirety of his past. Although Sair hasn't told everyone everything, he has released the following information:
Kazuki grew up alongside two friends, Pandora and Llewelyn. They were all very close, and when they got older, Llewelyn and Kazuki were attracted to Pandora in a way different from before -- they fell in love with her. When the Heartless attacked their world, they both did their best to defend her. When their world was destroyed, they found themselves on Baratama. They managed to find each other. Not long afterwards, though, disaster struck: the Heartless attacked Baratama itself.
This new onslaught was stronger than the one they encountered on their home world. Llewelyn, being the least-experienced fo the two, was having more trouble fighting them off. A Heartless attacked from behind, but Pandora dove in front of the attack. Her Heart was lost, and there wasn't anything to be done about it.
It is said that Llewelyn was greatly depressed afterwards. Sair has refused to release the information as to what happened to him, but it is believed that he left to wander alone. Kazuki hasn't seen him since.
Other:
~> Blood type: A
~> Zu is STRAIGHT. ... we think.

Name: Clef
Nicknames: Guru Clef, Cleffie, Shortie, Midget, Old Man, Geezer
Gender: Male
Age: apparently 11; but truthfully 1245
Race: Cephiran ("Bal"?)
Origin: Cephiro
Canon or Original?: Canon
Alignment: Pure
Preferred Weapon: His staff! As seen
here
Secondary Weapons: none
Magic: Inazuma Shoorai (Lightning Summon; Thundaga), Kakuenboujo (Protection Circle; Thunder), Seijyun Shokan (Pet Summon), Seijyuu Raikai (Pet Return), Mahou Denshou (Magic Tradition; grants magical power)
Physical Appearance:
He has lavender hair that is kept parted to one side with the help of a golden circlet with a tall teardrop-shaped blue stone in the center. His large eyes are a pure crystal blue. He wears robes and jewels. There's a ring on one hand with a stone that looks like the one in his circlet.
The first thing people notice about him is that he is SHORT. When picked on for his size, he gets very defensive and generally ticked...
http://www.silky79.com.ne.kr/image/clef.jpg
http://www.black-animals.de/images/Stuff/clef_sd.jpg
http://www.tressie.net/madoshi/chibiclef.jpg
Personality:
The second thing people notice about Clef is that he is very commandeering for an (apparent) eleven-year-old. Clef doesn't take too well to being called a kid; any offenders will most likely be smacked in the head with the head of his staff.

Clef is used to being greatly respected. However, when he doesn't get the respect he's used to -- the respect he knows he deserves -- he gets very... miffed. He hates it when people don't listen to him, and his temper is about as short as he physically is. All that said and done, Clef is a very proud... man. He know he has a very good reputation, and he knows that many people look up to him.

Despite his quick temper and sharp tongue, Clef is more caring than people expect. There's a good reason why people respect him, people discover. He sees to the heart of every situation, and he knows just what to do to fix things. He is loyal and a quick-thinker; a good leader. He's used to being a leader, so he's adopted a kind of "saving people thing." He truly wants to help people, and will do whatever he can to do so.
Background:
Centuries ago, about the same time Kazuki lost his world, Clef's world was lost to the Heartless. On Baratama, he met a strange kind man who called himself Sair. Sair took Clef and told him everything about the Heartless, the destruction of the worlds, and the Keyblade. Over the years, Sair made Clef his right-hand man; together, they grew close and became good friends.

When Sair took Kazuki under his wing, Clef thought that Sair made a mistake. Sair obviously saw something in the boy that Clef didn't, but Sair told him he would see it in time.

Centuries later, Clef still hasn't seen it. ... so he claims, anyway. Sair teases him about how Kazuki has been "growing on" him, but Clef just shakes it off and declares it a "foolish thought."
Other:
~> Likes silence
~> His two favorite pets are Fuyura (a giant flying fish) and Griphon (a friendly griffin)
~> His staff is easily twice as tall as he is. This means that it has an extra long reach for those who think they can outrun him... (Short people run fast, man!)

Cleric's Crossing: a street

Mariska had arrived at the Angel's Landing Spaceport with no idea where she was, and even less of an idea of how she'd got there. She'd been there for about a week now, and she'd been able to get some information.

She was in Cleric's Crossing, which was in the Twilight Meridian, which was in Baratama, which was most definitely not Calitae, which was in Doven, which was in Eris, which was home. She still had no idea how she'd woken up one day in a corner of the spaceport, with no sign of her parents. To say she missed them would be an understatement; for the first few nights, she had actually cried herself to sleep.

For Mariska, this was unusual to the point of mutation. She was a girl who rarely cried, and normally smiled. At least her tabby cat Edward was with her; she didn't know what she'd do without Edi to snuggle at nights.

Right now, she was sitting on a street corner, Edi on her lap, feeling hungry. She hadn't eaten all day, because even though she was fast, she didn't like stealing without paying for it. And she didn't have any money. She didn't even know what kind of money they used here. Yet her pride would not allow her to beg.

She scratched Edi's ears and cooed to him. "Don't worry, Edi," she said, speaking in her native tongue, "we'll get home somehow."

Blue eyes Behind Thin black rimmed Glasses fluttered open.
I'm alive?
The teen felt dizzy as she got up. Her mind trying to focus itself.
But where am I?
This place looked completely different from home. So futuristic even compared to Akdea.
Mari didn't know why she was here or where was here anyway. All She remembered was darkness.
"What where those things that attacked home?" The red haired girl asked herself. "More importantly where can I get some Juice"
Mari-Chii usually went for the nearest place that had juice whenever she was confused, stressed or just plain thirsty.
"Frtiz I-I'm Sorry i couldn't protect you" Mari cried silently as she remembered how those strange beings took the one she loved.
The Redhead got up from the ground feeling rather silly that she hadn't moved a muscle. But she also felt Anger at the people who just passed her by without at least checking to see if she was ok.
The streets looked cleaner here then they did back home. But there where hardly any flowers. "What a shame No flowers at all." Mari sighed walking among the Hoards of people lost.
"Excuse miss do you know where I'am?" "Sir,sir Where exactly are we?" She asked random strangers who would ignore her.
At least they didn't yell at me to leave the goddamn planet like some of the people back home. she thought to herself shaking her head.

After what seemed like hours the teen found a sign.
"Goody goody it can tell me where I am." She smiled skipping over to it,her spirits lifting.
Upon closer inspection She saw that the sign read Cleric's Crossing.
So that is where I am Mari thought smiling. Beside the gin there was another one displaying a map.
"Hmm So I turn left from her then go past This street here and I'll reach a cafe that is sure to sell juice. I can also ask the staff there about where exactly am I" Mari Said to herself rubbing her chin.

She began checking that she had everything.
"Mace, check. Scarf,Check. V-pin,check. Lastly and most importantly purse double check." She muttered to herself as she started to walk to the Cafe.

[If this is weird, I'm sorry, it's only 3:43 am...way to early to write a proper sentence]
He was neither hungry nor cold.
Not hungry; because he had eaten only about an hour ago.
Not cold; because his clothes kept him more than warm enough, after all he had been passing snowy mountains only a bit more than week ago.
He was sitting at the site of a street, mostly hidden, legs pulled close to his body.
Where he was, he would not have been able to tell on his own.
There were sign to be seen at times, but for him they were only random lines. He was not able to tell what they meant.
The short boy had been standing in front of one for the whole day.
That was three days after his arrival in the strange place - on the first day he had been running around in panic; on the second he had been sleeping most of the time.

He did not move his eyes away from the sign, he was searching for a meaning, a secret message.
When the sky started to turn dark someone walked up to him.
It was a friendly woman, only a little bit taller than him, who rested her hand on his shoulder.
She could probably tell that he had just only arrived, so she pointed up and said "Cleric's Crossing" as she did.
As soon as he had turned around to her; after looking at the sign and trying to figure out what exactly said 'Cleric's Crossing' on it; she smiled at him and repeated the words a few times.
The boy nodded to show that she had understood and was then asked to tell her; her name was Leonore; his name.

"I'm....I'm Pheran.", he told her and kneeled down.
Leonore giggled then and asked him to stay at her place, as he obivously was not used to Cleric's Crossing.

Pheran had stayed at hers for another two days, before he felt it would be better to leave.
He had told her everything about himself she had wanted to know.
About his family, their house; about his world and it's continents; about the people and the animals.
On that last day at her house; a small house with only a few rooms, which all looked almost untouched and still felt as if they had been full of live only seconds ago; she asked the boy to take care of a job for him
She did not tell him anything about herself, nor did she explain anything.
He took care of that job of hers; bringing a package to a friend; and she rewarded him with money and also, as if she had felt he was going to leave, gave him some food.
Pheran realised that the money she had given him would be used up fast, so he decided to only eat when he felt like he was about to die and to sleep outside.

Of course his thoughts over all these days kept running back to his parents and his home. Whatever had happened to them he didn't know.
And if it was bad, he wasn't sure if he wanted to find out in the first place.
But his parents had told him to keep his sisters, their daughters, safe and he felt guilty for not having been able to do so.
Having no idea where exactly he was and where his sisters where and where he was to go and how, he felt even more guilty for not searching.
But at the same time he had the feeling that if he only stayed alive long enough he'd get a hint or some information.
At least he hoped he would.

Cleric's Crossing

It was time to wake up.

Slowly, she opened her eyes. The sky was swathed with bright cheerful colors. Today was going to be a nice day. She hugged her knees and rested her forehead on them. God, she was so tired... but she had to keep moving. She would never find Hikaru if she just sat there... right?

She gave a shaky sigh, then stood. The alleyway she'd found yesterday had served her well; no one bothered her last night, and she was finally able to get a good night's rest. Now, she would have the energy to conduct a larger search than she normally would have.

I'm sorry, Hikaru. I'll find you. I hope...

City of the Fates
"WAKEY WAKEY, EGGS AND BAKEY!"

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

There was a loud crash. Chase poked his head into the room and raised his eyebrows. Akemi and Sabrise were collapsed in a heap of arms and legs on the floor, and the former was laughing her head off while the latter adopted her trademark scowl.

"You girls okay?" he asked.

"We're fine!" Akemi chirped. Sabrise scowled.

Chase shook his head, smiling.
"All right. Don't take long. Mirei says that they're getting ready to make breakfast downstairs."

"Okay!" Akemi beamed. Chase left.

"Get off me!" Sabrise snapped, flailing an arm.

"But you're the one on me," Akemi said cheerfully.

"... whatever!"

About fifteen minutes later, the twins were untangled, dressed, downstairs, and ready for breakfast. Mirei beamed at her daughters, clapping her hands together.

"Okie dokie!" she said in a sing-song voice, "it's food time!"

"YAY food!" Akemi cheered.

"Yaaaay," Sabrise said dully. Chase laughed.

Cleric's Crossing

"Damn that boy. Always running off without telling anyone where he's going... He tells us to watch his back, how are we supposed to 'watch his back' when he just takes off... stupid boy... stupid..."

Clef grumbled his way down the street, his grip tight around his staff. He scowled at the random passersby that gave him strange looks.

He stopped suddenly. Slowly, he turned his head. A girl sat on the street, cradling a cat. He gave her a once-over; she seemed young and had a boyish appearance, with a head full of dark hair and a petite frame. He stiffened. She looked like... but he shook his head. This girl wasn't her; it couldn't be her. Her hair wasn't red, she didn't have a braid, and she didn't wear the special armor. ... but still... Something in the back of his mind wondered if her eyes were large and ruby red. He shook the thought.

Don't be stupid, he told himself. That's not her.

He needed to keep going; after all, he had to find that stupid boy. ... but for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to move. He could only stare at her. With a sigh, he walked over to the girl, mentally kicking himself as he did so.

"You there." Clef tilted his staff in her direction. "Who are you?"

Cleric's Crossing: a street

Mariska started, looking up with large mahogany eyes into the larger blue ones of a boy who looked about her age. "Sase?" she asked, then realised he hadn't been speaking Schedterran, and probably didn't know it. "Hello?"

Edi raised a stripey grey head and meowed. She scratched him behind the ears to quiet him. "I'm Mariska Killikoi," she said, turning back to the boy. "Of the Killikoi family," she added proudly, tossing her short black hair back. Edi twitched an ear as if to say, That probably means nothing to him. She didn't care.

City of the Fates: a congested area

While strolling through the massive crowd in response to a special event of some kind, Jikan finally pulled herself into a clearing.

'Whew... I wonder why the street is full today... ugh... out of all times...'

Normally, this particular area in the city where Jikan visits quite daily for personal reasons has become a staple of her daily routines each day. It is also the first area she was able to visit daily after getting accustomed to the city and her new life.

After all, she hasn't been able to get contact of her home nor anyone who has heard of it. And so, she might as well get used to her new 'home' until the right time comes... someday.

However, today seems to be a little different, but not much a bother, for now anyway.

[Ehh... mine is kind of short... but good enough... right? I don't know what is revelent right now so this is all I have. Sorry~]

Cleric's Crossing

A dark rip appeared in the sky at the Angel's Landing Spaceport. Zairx Drachen fell out, silently. He glanced around, taking in the view. He was shocked at how many people were in this city.

"Wlecome to Cleric's Crossing"

Zairx looked at the sign, grimacing. He wasnt welcome anywhere. The sign was mocking him. Zairx kicked it onto the ground and walked past into the city. He had never seen anything so advanced in his life. People were walking around in the city, away from the fear of living in a monster-filled countryside... Zairx needed to see more of this place to make sure he didn't get lost. He climbed up a tall building, suprisingly unnoticed, and looked over the city from the rooftop. To the south, he saw strange monsters attacking a small portion of the city.

"Hah... pitiful commoners... They cannot even defend themselves... Lets destroy this world..." said the dark concious, as seen in a black ball of electricity.
"We should help them, Zairx! Maybe thats what you are here to do!" said his good concious, seen as a pure ball of light.
"...Whatever. Lets just go find someone to talk to..." said his third concious, which was inside him.

Zairx jumped down from the building, cloak trailing behind him in the air. He walked towards the monster attack, but hadnt decided what to do yet. Of course, he hadnt really seen what hapened on this planet that was the deciding factor of their lives. On his world of H'trae, it was strength of the soul... Seeing as this planet was full of people from different planets, it meant that there were many different deciding factors... It also meant that the Emperor of Dragons would come here often... Maybe some people who weild opposite items of power from another planet would come... Maybe he could find what he wanted here. Maybe he could find a way to let go of his past.

"Gah... I've got to get rid of these conflicting thoughs, first.."

(Gee, Im trying to make him look as... err... swing-ish as possible without making him kinda... crazy...)

... Zaxx... You haven't checked the Alignments thread recently, have you? *sweatdrop* There's a more in-depth description of everything there. You'd better go read it. 'Specially since Swingers aren't 'crazy'... not really. wink Also, there aren't Heartless on Baratama. There may be the occasional monster, but there aren't any Heartless. Might wanna change that. ^^;;

Cleric's Crossing

"I'm Mariska Killikoi," said the girl. "Of the Killikoi family," she added proudly, tossing her short hair over her shoulder.

Clef stared. Whoever this girl was, she was most definitely not like Shidou Hikaru. Pity, though... But it was stupid of him to think it was her in the first place. It had been centuries since he last saw her, and she was just an ordinary human. There was no way that she could have survived...

"I am Clef," he said, bowing his head slightly. "Second in command to Sair of the Sky Board." Curiousity overtook him; he peered at the girl. "Do you know magic?"

Cleric's Crossing: a street

"Of course I do," huffed Mariska. "My father is an Oracle, after all." She eyed him curiously. "Why? Don't you?"

Edi mewed again, nosing her hand. She looked down at him and stroked his ears. "Edi's hungry," she said. "So'm I."

"Of course I know magic." Clef swelled indignantly. "I was the Master Mage of Cephiro, back when it was..." He deflated and coughed into his fist.

He gave Mariska another studious look. "... come with me." With that, he turned and walked in the opposite direction he had been going. Screw finding the boy; he could take care of himself.

Cleric's corssing. some Cafe thingy.

"What do you mean Gaia gold isn't accepted here! It's the only money I have" Mari yelled at the Store guy who was acting quite rude to the Redhead.
"Listen kid No Gold is aollowed here. only munny. Now how about you scram to yours and beat it." He repiled to her getting inpacent.
"That's just it. She's not here. Can you alteast tell me where the hell I can exchange my gold to this mummy instead of being a rude jerk" Mari-Chii sighed. She felt like taking her mace to him.
"Urgh fine. go past that dohicky then up that doodleda then-"
"Did anyone ever tell you how much you are a jerk faced dumbarse" Mari-Chii interupted him taking out her mace.
"Now tell me the right way to go NOW!" She fumed.
"Cross the Street then go straight ahead you can miss Post office." He repiled staring at the hyped up teen's mace.
"Could you put that thing down now?" He asked.
Mari sighed and put the mace down and walked out of the Cafe.
"Better go see how much I'm worth" she sighed.

Mariska looked down at Edi; he flicked his ears lazily. She shrugged, and gathering Edi in her arms, followed the boy, Clef, down the street.

"Where're we going?" she asked him, noticing she was exactly his height, and suddenly brimming with questions. "And where's Cephiro? What's the Sky Board? People've been talking about it, but I dunno what it is."
