A dull blue herla was making his way through the shallow waters of the lake, nosing around under the surface of the water. He was panting and his eyes looked wide and wild. "God Damn It! Mother ********! WHERE ARE YOU?!" he shouted frantically, angry at himself for having lost the visor that always covered his eyes. He had been out for a quick swim and the red visor just slipped off, falling into the shallow water. He was starting to panic all the more as he failed to locate it after ten minutes. He dove under the water completely and began scanning the entire murky floor of the lake. Near the very edge of the lake he found the visor, quickly shoving the muck covered visor back on, dipping his head into the water and letting the dirt wash off before he walked out of the lake and collapsed on the sandy, rocky shore, drenched and frustrated.

Zuko: He decided he felt a little to dry and warm today even for him. Deciding for a much needed cool off he made a beeline for the crystal waters of the lake his scar prickling with sweat stinging his half closed eye. He was just about to sink into the heavenly water when he noticed a heaving lump of a blue herla half in the mud. Despite the warning bells from his anti-social paranoia he edged over to investigate. "Hey uh...You okay?" his golden eyes held a gleam of cautionary concern while his thoughts wandered mournfully to the lake behind him.

Zeta heard the sudden appearance of a voice that was unfamiliar to him so he sharply turned his head to focus on the stranger. He noticed that this was a scorn male, who seemed to be pretty badly scarred. "I'm.... fine," he let the other's worries set to ease before he stood up and shook off the mud from his sleek, short fur. He approached the other to get a better look at the boy, eyeing him up and down curiously. "What happened to you there?" he asked bluntly, nodding towards the scar.

Zuko: He flinched as if he'd been struck his hooves even shuffling backward a step or two. He should be used to this, but every time it stung. Regaining his composure his ears went back against his skull his tail low. His molten gaze narrowed to glowing slits. "I was burned as a fawn" he says flatly. Now irritated, he didn't care if the herla drowned in the mud! Didn't he know you didn't just ask things like that? Why if he didn't look so pathetic, Zuko would step on his face and burn him. Then see how much he liked such questions. He didn't realize it but tiny bursts of flames had been growing steadily as he got angrier and angrier. Turning on his hooves he stomped straight into the water causing it to hiss bubble and stream violently.

Zeta took a deep breathe and exhaled slowly as Zuko seemed to get touchy with this new subject. "I'm sorry to hear that..." he eyed the boy and noticed the tiny flames. He felt alarmed and was about to warn poor Zuko of the spontaneous combustion but the other didn't seemed to be alarmed. He just simply walked into the water and extinguished the flames. "I guess that happens often with you..." sighs and walks into the water yet again, making sure this time not to drop his visor. "I'm sorry... I've seem to hit some sort of nerve... I didn't mean to offend you in any way..." tries to repair what he has spoiled.

Zuko froze his back stiffening at the apology. "It's fine", he said signaling the end of the topic. With his back still to Zeta he lets the flames consume him from snout to tail and roar high before snuffing them out. "Yes, would be the simple answer." Turning his good eye toward the odd blue hart he says frankly, "Can I ask why you why you were half buried in the mud?" he says his tone stilted.

Zeta was startled to say the least, but not in a panicked sort of way. He stumbled back a few steps but he stood his ground, believing the Zuko had control over this inferno on his back. "Amazing..." he stated with the slightest hit of awe in his voice. He wasn't one to get terribly excited anymore. That had died with something else inside of him. When Zuko turned his head to eye him all that Zeta did was look to the muck where he had been half consumed. "Well, I had lost my visor.... this red thing on my eyes here," he gave a sharp buck of his head and the visor jumped a little. "I had to find it so well... I went for a swim." He eyed the water, "It's rather murky in there... I suggest you don't drop that pretty scarf thing of yours." He smirked and swayed his tail in the water, making small ripples and waves.
