Welcome to the Host Application Thread! This year our system will be a bit different. Each room will have two hosts, but one will be in charge and one will be 'second in command' like in the committees. This is so there is someone clearly in charge and responsible for decisions in the room, so things can get done. Secondary Hosts will be in charge of assisting and advising the Room Host, and taking care of things when the Room Host isn't around. In the event that a Room Host has to step down, the Secondary Host will assume charge of the Room. Room Hosts and Secondary Hosts should be in constant communication, and able to work with each other. If any problems arise, they should let me know.
Please do not apply for a position unless you know you have the time to dedicate to this ball, and that you have good leadership ability. This is out of respect to the others applying, and to the ball itself.
This year our theme is Seven Deadly Sins. There will be a sin and a virtue in every room. The Room Host will be playing the Sin, and the Secondary Host will be playing the Virtue. If you'd like to have the Secondary Host be the sin and the Room Host play the virtue, please contact me about it.

Why do you want to be a host: Ah... I love to watch people rping? And I love to rp myself. This Ball is where I first rp'ed, and I'd love to encourage other beginners to play.

Why would you make a good host: >.< Thanks, Angel. Now I'm going to sound self-centered. Anyhow, I'm patient with beginners and can make up an interesting story quickly. I also know when to back out of a story.

List 3 ideas for your top choice room: Wrath and Patience, huh? How about their personalities switched? Not magical, I mean like Patience looses patience with Wrath, who is being too patient to someone else. Ah, another. It should be in a place where there's peace and war... like a tropical rain forest, where animals are killed in some layers and other layers are relatively peaceful. AAAAAA *brain jam* Perhaps one host could disappear for a while and the other could search and hold a search party?

How often are you on Gaia: Almost daily with the exception of right now due to moving
Why do you want to be a host: I saw how much trouble the hosts of the room I was helping in had because of their erratic schedules. Since I have a more regular schedule, I feel I would be able the streamline a lot of the deadlines.
Past Ball Positions (If Any): Major Plot Character for Hades Room in 8th Ball

How often are you on Gaia: 4-5 hours a day, even more on weekends (Once school starts up)
Why do you want to be a host: I have been a room host for the past 2 ball's and would like to be one again as I enjoy this year's theme and it will give me more freedom than in past years to be creative. I love being host as it let's me help others alot more during the ball. I am not in it at all for recognition or anything. I love doing the Annual Ball each year.

Experience: I have been room host for the past two years, I have helped with the ball now for 3 balls, I Run many guilds that are active, I have helped with many things in the ball in the past, I in real life am in Explorer's which teaches me how to work as a team.

Why would you make a good host: If you look at my ast 2 year's rooms you will notice that I was able to pull rooms together quick that were also successful, I was able to keep the guests under control and was able to answer questions when needed. I also am able to keep calm once things are organized correctly, I am a little bit of a perfectionist and don't like mistakes. You can also contact Dolly14 who I was a co-host under, I can place her as a reference also. I could keep going on but I don't want to brag about my accomplishments, as I don't like braggers and I don't like Bragging too much.

Why do you want to be a host: Well I loved being a host last year and the year before so much that I thought, why not be one again this year?, ya know? I love interacting with all of the ball-goers and making them happy and excited for not only the ball they are currently in, but for the next years one as well. ^w^

How often are you on Gaia: Usually during the time of the Ball, I'm on every day. During the school year I try to get on at least a couple times a week.
Why do you want to be a host: Because I believe I can play the parts at the selected rooms well, that I will work as hard as I can to make the room ah-mah-zing, and that I will be able to handle everything despite my perfectionist flaws. wink I can be responsible and hardworking! I enjoy working with people and playing different characters, and I believe it will be much fun. I may not have been a host before...so I'm a bit of a newbie, but I really, really want to do it.
Past Ball Positions (If Any): None, the past ball was my first.
Current Positions (Such as committees): I'm in the fundraising comittee.
Experience: Experience wise, I have run RPs, Chatrooms, Forums, and the like. I currently help run 1 RP, 2 forums, and my own graphics shop.
Skills: Graphic making, RPing, writing
Why would you make a good host: Because I'm fair, hardworking, fun, and kind. I also believe in my okay-rping skills to keep a good storyline and give as much fun as possible to the users attending the balls. I understand that also the people that I'm working with are human and will treat them with the utmost respect and friendship. I will try to make the harder tasks fun, and not so overbearing, and of course - we all get words put in. biggrin
Which users do you work best with in this guild (Name at least 3): Nana Etoile, hands down and vixii-chan. But I think I can work well with Wizard of Wordiness...I don't know many people.
List 3 ideas for your top choice room: For Lust, I had an idea of my playing Lust in a more playful manner with chastity. I would more than likely play a male - a very incubus like male - and cause havoc with my 'better half' for laughs. I think that if it would be sort of like... 'pirate/earl/innocent maiden' also, we could have users create their own pirate-like songs for a writing contest. Their would also be lots of explosions between the two, and perhaps even a slightest bit of romance to add to the drama. That's one idea.
Another idea would be reality-TV like, where Lust and Chastity got themselves into a deal to see how long they can last with eachother. I thought it would be quite funny to see the two interact in a "OMG STAY AWAY FROM ME WAY." And in the end, the users would choose if they fuffiled the deal.
One more idea is the simple hosting room, where Lust and Chastity are fighting over how they want to decorate their part of the ball. Lust, being the sexy-demon-like self wants it all...well...night club like. Chastity wants it all...well...sweet and gentle. I see teams, perhaps some hilarious fighting between the two. A food fight with cakes and wine, anyone? xD For contests we'd probably give out demonic/angelic items (of low prices, depending how much funds are raised...??)
List 1 idea for your second choice room: Wrath & Kindness...I guess you could take from the reality tv like deal. Lust (or any other of the sins and/or virtues) handcuffed them together to get them to learn from one another? xD

IDEA 1: ok, my first idea is that there could be a floating character that goes throught all the rooms called 'Irony' and he/she would cause ironic situations where kindness would hurt someone and wrath would get all upset about it and stop bieng so wrathful, and things would be great. but then people would start to realise that without wrath bieng as he/she should, kindness has gotten way too big for their boots and the ball could be about trying to fix wrath to put kindness in their place!
IDEA 2: a war between wrath and kindness, where people in the thread have to choose between the two sides, but kindness won't fight and wrath is winning, the people have to work out how to beat wrath without fighting
IDEA 3: wrath has diguised himself as kindness and now there are two kindness characters in the thread, and throughout the ball people are trying to figure out which one is the real kindness and which is the imposter

IDEA: lust is turning the guests of the ball onto chastity with her lusty magic, and chastity obviously doesn't like this, so she decides to get help from love (don't know if crossing characters into other rooms is a good idea, but it's an idea anyway) as she realises that love is the only thing that can overcome lust. but love needs the help of the guests, now its up to them to decide whether to help lust or love

IDEA: charity thinks that greed has gone soft as he gets sick and actually gives something away! so charity decides to make him jealous by becoming a better greed than him in an attempt to put things right.

Why do you want to be a host: Well, this year's ball was the first year that I had actually participated and I had a blast and met some epic people from it. CB
I decided that I'd really love to be a Room Host at that time, to make next year's ball fun for somebody too~! (And have some fun myself, y'know?

Experience: I have a ton of experiance in roleplaying. I've been told I'm literate, and a good writer. I love to roleplay, and most of my life is wasted on it. XD (Which CAN be a good thing, and not-so-good at times...)
But anywho... I hope that's what this one meant. If anything else, I can normally break up a fight pretty decently and keep peeps in line. c:

Why would you make a good host: I'm very flexible and I can work with almost anybody as long as they don't mind me being a bit of a jokester and a spazz. Sometimes I can spit out some pretty silly, but decent ideas. (Not trying to toot my own horn buuut--) I'm also a pretty good roleplayer and I have a blast just trying to interact with everybody like I did at this past ball.
When I'm serious about something (which, this is a srs matter, y'know. BD); I can keep everything in line and order pretty dang good. <3

A collection/pack-rat like contest;
Well, Greed is...As everyone knows, Greedy~ ( Wow that wasn't lame at all! *whack'dintheface* )
I thought, perhaps, maybe we could hold a collection contest.
Participating users take a screenshot or something of that sort of their inventory and send it to the ever-so-wonderful mule account (or whatever we're using, y'know?).
The peep with the most crap in their inventory would win. XD { This one might need some tweaking and such... But y'know, if it works I thought it'd be cool... }
A random give-away;
Well, my idea is that, seeing as Charity and Greed are going to be in the same room and such, I thought we could do a page giveaway like in the By the Sea room this year, but with a bit of a tweak-kind of thing. XD
Every 25-30 pages or so (which preferrably will be random inbetween those two numbers just for the heck of it XD), Charity 'snatches' an item/some gold from Greed to give away to the first person that posts on that page. Thus, fulfilling his name as Charity. C8>
Scavenger Hunt;
Possibly ever few pages or so-- I know that usually the signatures are turned off in the Ball forum, but, I figure, somewhere in Greed's post or something, a specific item on Gaia (like, a jewelry item or something related to that) would be posted for about a day before taken out of the post.
Participants would be required to take a screenshot of the post, and at the end of the time given (which would be a day before the ending of the ball, I'd guess) participants would send in their screenshots via PM. The peep with the most of the items screenshotted would win.
I understand there could be ties, so, I'm not nessicarily sure how that would work. It still needs some thinking through...
-- as for room plot ideas, I can see many dissaggrements in Greed & Charity's future.
Greed, being the Greed we all know and love, tries desperately to keep everything that he owns-- and seeing as Greed is hosting the party, he is not fond of most of the contests/contestants. { Seeing as I figure it would be his stuff that's being given away as being the Party Host... }
Charity, being his give-away self, often tries to give things away, which would most likely spike an argument between Greed and him.
*Miniplot: As a near-ending/middle plot, possibly a co-host's character or another NPC, swipes (SWIPERNOSWIPING-*shot*) the prizes for the contests and hides them in order to frame Greed. Charity has his suspiscions that it was Greed, and gives him a hard time for it-- despite his constant claims that he didn't do it.
It's up to a few of the the ball-goers to clear Greed's notsogood name.*
*Another Miniplot: Charity and Greed start up into a huge argument, and Greed leaves the room unattended to Charity in a huff. (Possibly to another room.)
Charity, a bit distraught with the sudden responsibilities, requests that the other ball-goers help him find and, if needed, force Greed back to the party.*

8D ... Not sure about this one... I thought that maybe, every once in a while {Like, once or twice a day during the Ball}, Love will pop out of the room and into another room for a whee bit. The first peep to interact with Love wins a small prize. <3;

See-Who-Can-Tick-Wrath off-The-Most-Contest
I thought for this one, perhaps it would be a hidden contest. Like, a secret contest in a way. It would be mentioned, and that it had something to do with Wrath-- but that's all they'd know about it.
Because if they knew what you had to do to win-- well, we'd have people trying to tick Wrath off every three-and-a-half seconds.
But, technically, the host would keep track of who made Wrath angry, and at the end, whomever ticked her off the most would win a prize. XD

Would you prefer to be the Room Host or the Secondary Host: Secondary host. I would like to work under supervision as this is my first time helping with the Annual Ball. (:
How often are you on Gaia: I am on every day until 2AM until September. Once school starts, I will still be on everyday, just less. (Around two-three hours.) On weekends, I'm on pretty much the whole day.
Why do you want to be a host:The Annual Ball is a large roleplaying event, and there is nothing I love more than roleplaying on Gaia. Being host will also give me a chance to meet a lot more people in the Gaian community.
Past Ball Positions (If Any): None.
Current Positions (Such as committees): I'm participating in the art shops (both avi art, and the graphics shop), helping with the graphics for the bump shop, and part of the advertising committee.
Experience: Four years of roleplaying and graphic design, running my own online websites and forums.

Why would you make a good host: I think I've said this before, but I enjoy pouring buckets of friendship and love on people. It is difficult for me to get frustrated over people. Also, I've been role playing for many years, and I have participated in previous balls, so I know a bit on how the ball works. (:

•Since the point of the rooms is to roleplay, the plot for the room could be that Charity and Greed are having a bet. Charity tells Greed that sharing is better than keeping to yourself, but Greed says otherwise. The two then decide to spend three days being each other, whoever admits defeat first loses. Users can cheer them on, and maybe even place bets on them. xP
• Charity orders the users to go on a scavenger hunt to bring things back for him. (5 sunflowers, a signature that uses the colour blue, the definition of greed etc.) The users can split into two to three groups of fives, and whoever brings back all the items first wins. Greed will award the winners with a small gift and bragging rights. (:
•Greed wants to donate some of his junk treasure to Gaians, but doesn't really understand the meaning of donate. Instead, he tells the Gaians that whoever rolls two ten sided dice, and has outcomes that match his rolls, will get free stuff.

•Gluttony is running out of food to eat! Users must cook dishes for him. (There could be an art contest to design the best looking dish to serve Gluttony).

Would you prefer to be the Room Host or the Secondary Host: I'd LOVE to be host, but I admit, I don't think I'm able to do it. Secondary host may be a better choice for me.
How often are you on Gaia: Until school starts, everyday. And when school starts, I'm hoping to pull of once or teice a week, depending on homework. Next summer and holidays is the same, hopefully...
Why do you want to be a host: Er.... hard to answer.... Well I love to be creative and rping even though I never really do it. Um, and I really am excited and sad that I have to wait one whole year for the ball to happen. Yeah, thats about it. ( I really hate having to say what I'm good at, makes me so... intimidated...

-Maybe that Gluttony is trying to get all participents of his/her room to give him/her food while Restraint is working his/her butt off trying to restsrain Gluttony.
-Restraint disappears and Gluttony, without Restraint is getting fatter everyday, and when Restraint finally reappears (on the last day of the ball) Gluttony is on his/her knees begging Restraint for help
-Gluttony suddenly has a turn of heart and Restraint finds it weird so Restraint tries to get Gluttony back to his/her normal ways, succeeding on the last day.

-Sloth is sleeping and Zeal is trying to wake him/her up. (sorry! that sounds like Dora.)

Would you prefer to be the Room Host or the Secondary Host: I think I'd be best sited for Secondary, but can take also take on host. I feel confident in either, but it's really up to you to decide if you see me fit for the higher role.
How often are you on Gaia: Almost everyday, though during the school year am only on briefly.
Why do you want to be a host: I think it would be fun, as well as a great experience.

Current Positions (Such as committees): None, though I am participating in the Tektek shop
Experience: I roleplayed excessively, and although I don't roleplay much any more, I do write a lot. I also participated in the 8th Annual Ball
Skills: Writer and artist, very creative, good roleplayer, have good leadership skills, intelligent.
Why would you make a good host: Look at skills! Although I have little experience as a host, I do have the skills required to make a good one. I'm a very dedicated person, and would work very hard to make the room a good one.

-I don't know many very well, as I'm new to the ball, but I've been getting to know others and think I could get along with anyone.
List 3 ideas for your top choice room:
-Lust has been having lot's of sexual desires that he can't release. He just hasn't been getting laid because he's been stuck in this room , and being stuck with Chastity hasn't helped him at all. He's had his eyes set on Chastity, her being the only available object to try and get intimate with, but she's been a challenge. Which, of course, he likes. So even when the doors have been open to guests, which he is certainly happy about, Chastity is still his main goal.
-Chastity could have the opposite issue. Very attractive, she's been getting the attention of men, and even some women, which is making her very uncomfortable. She's had gotten used to Lust's attempts, but unfortunately all these new people around has made her very nervous. She has to deal with lusty guests who want her for nothing more than her lady parts. Of course, this all makes Lust jealous, for two reasons. One, Chastity is having more luck than he is, and two, he's grown very protective and possessive of Chastity.
-Or, instead of Lust being jealous, it's him trying to play a trick on Chastity. He thinks that if he can make her uncomfortable, perhaps she'll seek him out for comfort. If she does this, he can play on her feelings, and get in bed with her. Of course, Chastity isn't stupid. In fact she's very smart. She turns his game around on him, making others disinterested in him.
List 1 idea for your second choice room:
-Wrath makes others angry, violent, and just plain mean when ever she gets angry, which is a lot. Thing is, she's actually very nice, she just can't even control her abilities. This, of course, makes her more angered. The only person unaffected is Kindness (I think should be Patience), who has been trying to help her younger sister by calming others down, and keeping those affected by Wrath in line.

-Sloth would not be participating if it weren't for Zeal. But Zeal's been running around like crazy, tiring himself out and falling into great deals of stress. But since Sloth won't do anything, he has to do everything! And he won't stop! Sloth, with her great laziness, has just been watching Zeal do things. But she's starting to feel bad for Zeal. She tries to get her husband to take a break, but he won't because he wants everything to get done. Seems like if she wants her lover to get destressed, she's going to have to put in a helping hand.

Would you prefer to be the Room Host or the Secondary Host: Room Host
How often are you on Gaia: Minimum of once a day, 2 -3 hours a day.
Why do you want to be a host: I really enjoy roleplaying and interacting with other people. Being a host you get to guide the roleplay; yet, you still get to 'go with the punches' as other gaians involve themselves. It will never be a dull position and no matter how much you plan, you will never know what to expect.

Current Positions (Such as committees): N/A
Experience: I was an Admin for a roleplaying server on the game Neverwinter Nights. The server was called Astoria Legacy. I also have significant experience roleplaying with pen and paper.
Skills: I am extremely articulate and well versed in literature. I can maintain a predefined plot while allowing for player decisions and involvement.
Why would you make a good host: My willingness to listen to input from many individuals and to incorporate several ideas into a single unifying plot. My personal drive to work hard and to do not just a good job, but an excellent job. My ability to to be flexible in all aspects of working with a group.
Which users do you work best with in this guild (Name at least 3): I have never worked with any of these users, but I am up to working with anyone. I would enjoy getting to know the members of this guild better. Simply through what little interaction I have had with these members I would have to say that I would work well with: Cozork, Lectern, & broken_bleeding_angel.

Idea #1:
Invidia (Latin for envy) is desires the attention the her counterpart Amare (Latin for love) has always gotten, while she has been denied, what she feels to be her rightful place among the hearts and minds of mortals. She challenges Amare to a game. A simple game, that they will have a week long party during which both Invidia and Amare will use their personal attributes to attempt to convince the mortals to come to their side. Invidia will use the power of the material and immaterial to steer mortals to her side, while Amare will use the power of true love to convince people to his side. The winners prize is a whole decade in which the other will not influence the minds and hearts of mortals.
Idea #2:
Envy has had the last straw with Love always getting all the attention and desires Love to be put in his place. She tries to enlist the help of the guests of the ball to help her overthrow Love and send him away. The guests must choose a side and help either Envy or Love win.
Idea #3:
This is a unifying idea for all of the rooms.
The four horseman of the apocalypse (war, famine, pestilence, and death) have appeared causing chaos in the world of mortals. The sins and virtues feel the world they know coming to a close and have no desire to discover what the unsure future has in store for them. They band together to rid themselves of the four horsemen (who would be floating characters to all the rooms) using their unique skills to cause the horsemen to fail. Envy and Love would have to work together, despite their qualms about it, in trying to enlist the aid of the guests in riding the world of the horsemen.

Lust and Chasity are twin sisters. Chasity is tired of watching her sister have all the 'fun' and decides that she is gonna be 'bad' too. All hell breaks loose with two 'Lusts' and the world must be put back into balance. Lust enlists the aid of the guests in teaching her how to be chaste, since Chasity will have no part in returning to her 'old, boring ways'.

Wrath and Kindness have been in an on again, off again relationship for centuries. Kindness finally says shes had enough and leaves Wrath, this time for good. Wrath enlists the aid of the guest in trying to win Kindness back, and convince her he is a 'changed' sin.
