I mean, don't get me wrong, I liked the ending, but I think it would have been cooler to see Misa end it or truly see the continuation of the additional chapter.

I kinda thought that L would die, and somehow Light would be stopped. I don't have much of an opinion on this.

they should continue the story with Misa and have her go and be Kara so the story would be continued. well that's my look at things but then agen i write my own manga so i will try to get a holde of Tsugumi Ohba and tell them what you guys/girls think should happen.

Honestly, I think that the ending was fitting and perfect. One thing that I absolutely hated about the movies is that L did not die. I think that it was necessary for L to die to prove just how powerful Light/Kira (not Kara. Kira means "leader of the people" which is why the name was chosen) was. Also, I think a lot of fans get upset when something ends so they want to try to find a continuation theory to keep the story going. But, what made the story so incredible was how it ended and the events leading up to it. Besides, Misa-Misa isn't even near the intelligence level of Light, which would take away from everything that made the story so compelling. But, as far as the ending goes, I could see "what if" scenarios popping up. Misa backstabbing Light would have been as upsetting as the end of Fable II, but there are possibilities around those lines. Props to you for coming up with ideas though. If I would give it ANY other ending or continuity theory, it would be more aimed towards the Shinigami. Possibly a war within the Shinigami realm or them letting humans obtain their DeathNotes for an all out warfare, entertainment, or something along those lines. Even though I love and am very true to Tsugumi Ohba's manga version, I like to hear ideas from fans about "what if" scenarios. Keep 'em coming guys.

ya that is a good add on but having a war would be hard because you would have to know the persons name and face so all you had to do i where a mask and hack the web sights that has your name and photo id. other than that it is an awesome response.

Hi, i just joined =D
Anyway, the number of chapters had to do with some budist thing with death, dont remember the exact details
and i liked the ending but i disliked the fact that light died x.x though the manga itself is held in the worlds top 10 most popular in at number 7 which considering the top five are continuing manga (including naruto bleach one-peice and claymore) its quite amazing that a manga that has ended officially has and ever increasing fan base

even though i like light, i felt that his death was kind of necessary. otherwise we would've went on and on with this good vs evil thing. i also like that L died. don't get me wrong, i love L but i thought his death was nice surprise.
the only thing is, as much as i love the original death note ending, if i had to pick, i would have much rather had mello live rather than near. though i did love near's whole "together we can surpass L" speech. it spoke to my soul.
and matt shouldn't have died. he was practically an innocent bystandered. he just wanted to chill with his best friend and play his video games. nothing wrong with that.

Dude the ending was awsome i mean the entire time it kept me wondering how it was gonna turn out...........in the end it was great evry1 that died 2, me, should hyave it was there time but i was cold how light was killed by a deathnote in the end xd

Don't get me wrong, I like Near and Mello a LOT but I don't think that they should have been the one's who caught Light. I think it should have been L crying but I do like the fact that they inadvertently surpassed L by working together.
