(( Farlest - Sephiros Immortalis
Arius - Sephiros Immortalis
Rhiloss - Manda
Ka'hmesh - Manda ))

It had been almost twenty minutes now, and Rhiloss was really starting to worry. Blood had started to soak through the towel by this point... getting his hands sticky. But he didn't dare move. He'd tried calling Ka's name a few times, but to no avail. The other was well and truly out.... dammit. Where WAS Far?

Farlest had come as quickly as he was able, absolute terror causing his chest to beat far faster than it ought to. He'd run harder than he could ever remember in this lifetime...fumbling with the door he came bursting in, panting, hair askew...gods...please let Ka be all right... He'd told Rhiloss to look after him until he go there, but really, there wasn't much the child could do. Finding them both still in the living room, he leaned down and instantly half-curled around Ka...disentangling him from the ladder as he let his power flow to the most serious of the other's injuries. Gods gods...Ka had to be all right... "Rhiloss..." He looked at the child..."Go get me some water, will you...?" It was soft, hoarse...almost all of his concentration focused on mending Ka's injuries...

Rhiloss almost instantly gave Ka over to Farlest when the other showed up - hovering nervously nearby until Far gave him some kind of direction. He nodded quickly then, and ran for the kitchen. Once there, he washed the blood off his hands and then pulled a glass out of the cabinet... hands shaking just a bit. Please, please let Ka be all right...

Finally getting the water more in the glass rather than all over his hands, Rhiloss headed back to the living room, a bit slower. "Here..." he murmured, holding out the glass.

"Set it over there..." He murmured, having pulled Ka into his arms, cradling the larger male to his chest....Far's features paling as he continued to drain himself. Honestly, if he hadn't gotten here when he did, there might have been lasting damage, something that he couldn't fix with just one session...or at all, depending on just how complex it was.

"How did this happen?" It was more a rhetorical question, asked in panic as tears ran down the elf's face. Gods...he'd come so close to losing his lover, and he'd just found him again, dammit!

Rhiloss actually flinched slightly at that, though he ... kind of hoped Far wouldn't notice. He ... really didn't know what to say. Then he just, started talking. "I ... he was changing the light up there, and I was ... was holding the ladder..." he started. Then he bit his lip and kept going. "I-I let go for just a ... a minute, and I was going to the bathroom..." Then came the crash. He had actually been going to the bathroom, really! So ... it wasn't exactly a lie. He just... hadn't been intending to come back until Ka yelled a bit.

Farlest nodded at that silently and didn't say a word. He supposed this was punishment enough for Rhiloss...sadly, it was at Ka's expense. Gods... but it looked like things would be all right...so long as Ka actually got some rest after this. Still keeping the other close to him, he then reached for that water, taking a slow sip.

It was about that point that Arius showed up...coming home a touch late from his own shift...and crimson eyes went wide as he discovered the scene in the livingroom. "Hell...just what happened here...?" Though it was easy to tell, seeing the mess, Ka...blood on the floor and all that. "Far...d'you need some help at all...?"

Rhiloss glanced over at Ari and then just ... went back to fidgeting and watching what was going on. Far was really ... getting kinda white there. Darting in then, he grabbed the glass of water and went to re-fill it. That was better than doing nothing after all.

It was about then, that Ka actually started to stir slightly. Crimson eyes blinked open ... then shut again as the room spun a bit. He knew the feel of the arms about him, though. "Far...?" he half-croaked, frowning slightly. What... the hell happened?

"Looks like you're just as confused as I am..." Ari muttered, that directed more at Ka as the teen perched worridly on one of the couch's arms. "Is he gonna be ok, Ada?" Whilst he'd had his er...rough spots with Far's lover at times, honestly, he did look up to the other as a second parent. This was his family and it scared him to think of anything happening to any of them.

"Ladder accident..." Far replied softly as a momentary explanation. Hell, he was not going to start crying again, surely. "Arius, Rhiloss...can you help me move him to the bedroom in a moment?"

Ka frowned slightly and blinked a few more times. he sent back, sounding slightly confused. From what he could tell, though... everything else in his head seemed intact. "Sorry I worried you ..." he murmured, glancing to both Ari and Rhiloss.

Rhiloss jumped slightly at Far's question and then nodded - still feeling decidedly guilty. "I'm sorry..." he half-whispered, moving toward Ka's feet - as they was likely to be less heavy.

Arius nodded and moved to help get Ka'hmesh up so they could carry him to the bedroom, as Farlest obviously didn't trust his mate's equilibrium. The last thing they needed was the other falling again, after all...and blows to the head, even with help from Farlest, were a worrisome thing. The memory loss didn't seem all that severe, but the fact that it was there at all...well it was something to be concerned over.

Farlest paused a moment to ruffle Rhiloss' hair, "It's all right...I don't think Ka will hold it against you..." After all, Rhil and Ari were their children. Gods...even if they were adopted, and they hadn't expected them, well...they were most assuredly their family now, and that gave them some allowance for mistakes. That and it seemed that Rhiloss honestly felt badly for what had happened to Ka'hmesh.

Ka submitted to the carrying about - though ... really, he felt like he could have walked on his own. Not that he was about to insist, with Far so worried. Once he'd been installed on the bed, he reached over to touch Rhiloss' shoulder. "Far's right. It wasn't your fault," he assured the Scent-child. Though he -did- remember that Rhiloss had been a brat earlier... but surely he wouldn't have done anything on purpose. So no, he couldn't blame him.

Rhiloss flushed slightly at that, and ducked his head. "A-all right..." he murmured, glancing over at Ari for a moment. Maybe they should leave...

Arius, sensing that discomfort from Rhiloss, put his arm around the boy's shoulders. "C'mon, let's go get dinner ready for 'em..." He murmured, guiding the other out of the room so that the parents could have some time alone...they would need it, after all....since he could just tell that Farlest had been an utter wreck on the harried trip to get home in time to help his lover.

Farlest perched himself on the edge of the bed, watching the Scents exit with a sigh. "You really shouldn't scare me like that..." He murmured as the door closed, leaning over to press a kiss to Ka's lips. "I nearly had a heart attack pounding pavement on my way over..." And of course he'd been plagued with self-induced nightmares of all the worst case scenarios.

Ka made a little purring noise at that and reached up to pull Far down beside him. "I really am sorry..." he murmured softly. There -was- still a bit of a headache, but that was likely to fade with some rest.

He snorted softly, shaking his head, Snuggling up against his lover, he draped an arm over Ka's waist, relishing in the nearness, and resting his head on the tanned chest so that he could hear the steady heartbeat was a reassurance like no other.

Ka murmured softly, eyes lidding a bit as he stroked fingers through the other's hair. He knew a little about concussions... something about not sleeping. But he was also fairly sure that Far's healing would have taken care of that. he muttered then.

Farlest laughed softly, The light too could wait. With a soft, purring sound, he closed his eyes, lithe body all tucked up against Ka's larger one. It would be nice...to just stay like this for a while...it was rare, after all, for the kids to leave them completely alone before bedtime.
