OK so, dad have a picture of christ in his wallet.
Its NOT really a picture of christ but a simple black and white.
It don't look like a face at all.
Its just traces.

He said its kinda amulet. o.o
and he said to look at the picture without blinking for
a couple of second and then look up and you will see Jesus.
I am so troubled about this since I think he cannot pray without looking at that picture first. I told him its no use in using pictures when you can leave that picture and talk to God.

Its like, if he stares at that picture,
then looks up and his eyes playing tricks on him,
and he started praying to God thinking its him that he sees, its more on, praying to the picture instead to Our Father right?
This left me confused. M0RE than confused when Shannelita said about the figure of Mary or Jesus that is there to remind them what they did for them and then they wipe their hand on that figurine and make a sign of the cross or pray. So, for me, it looked like they are praying to the figure. But leaves me confused because while they are praying faced to the figure, they are thinking about Our Lord. uhh.. anyone have a better explanation for this? ><

I remember a study on things like that in psychology class in college.
in our psychology book there were several different pieces of art that played tricks on our minds. i remember the coolest one was we had to stare at these lines for 30 seconds and when we looked away - and looked at a blank wall or blank piece of paper, we would see the American Flag. it was so cool!

Anyway.. does your Dad feel that something spiritual or supernatural is happening or does he realize that it's only an optical illusion?
it does sound like your Dad is praying to the illusion that he sees just like others pray to statues.

Jeremiah 51:17
Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

I know the image that your Dad sees is not molten or engraved in stone, but it is still a type of graven image. It is an optical illusion image made w/ mans hands and your Dad is praying to it so it is the same and it is still wrong to do. We are not to pray to images.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

I do feel that you will have to deal w/ your dad wisely and very gently and with much respect to him. Show him you care for him and speak to him very caring. Dont argue w/ him or belittle him or make him feel evil. Pray every single day, many times a day asking God to show your Dad the truth and give him faith to believe the truth.

Infinite Virtue Says
Don't worry to my knowledge it's fine.
And it's not a graven image, it's the son of God.
I would understand if it was a false God or something,
but that image is of Jesus, not a false God.
So you shouldn't worry about it okay?
To be honest that image probably has saved your dad.
Because he holds his faith not in the image itself, but in Jesus within the image.
