That is what I keep hearing from my nephew. He will turn 18 in 3 months and is a senior.
He thinks that somehow the rules in my house will change when he is 18. We've made it quite clear that no rules will change. If he wants to live at our house he will need to follow our rules.
He thinks that he will be able to go anywhere at anytime, not do chores, and sign for things at school.
He sees a big Freedom sign with turning 18.

Haha! I turned 18 2 months ago and nothing has change.
My parents still treat me like a 12 year old. xD Of course there will rules to follow, places we can't go, and things we just can't do.
I know a lot of 17 year olds that think that "True Freedom" starts at age 18 where you're practically a king/queen. Not how it works.
I hope your nephew has a good happy 18th birthday. ;D Destroy his hopes subtly. xp

lol, I keep trying to prepare him, but he just doesn't believe me. He thinks I'm too old to understand. I keep telling him that I'm only saying something now so he understands and doesn't mess up by trying to be so in control once he turns 18.
I had one lady say the only thing different between 17 and 18 was that at 18 you can vote and go to jail. lol
