No, really. If he dies, the link was supposed to be broken. Mat died in Camelyn when Rhavin hit him with lightning, but was alive again when Rand killed Rhavin with BF. Given his death, would the link be broken?

well, consider the properties of Balefire, ok? when someone is hit by Balefire, what they did in the past is undone, including, say, breaking any links, ties, or bonds to any kind of mystical musical instrument...it's still just a horn to anyone else...

aye... because rand killed him with Balefire, the breaking of the link that occured when he killed mat never occured because he technically never killed mat.
I think that made sense.

Erin Sovenya But what about his death in Rhuidean? it was the same thing. becaues the dark hounds were killed with balefire they technically never killed him so he never died. because they never killed or attacked him even. man.... such a weird thing balefire.

do you ean wen he got hung? he didnt die. the Dogs didnt kill him. they just slobered on him (( i just read that part for the 3ooth time))

Alina Sedai do you ean wen he got hung? he didnt die. the Dogs didnt kill him. they just slobered on him (( i just read that part for the 3ooth time)) The thing is that their slober, as you called it, is toxic and can burn through steel.. therefore that slober killed him; However because Rand used such a large amount of Balefire to kill them they never slobered on Matt because they were removed from the pattern before they even got to the door, making anything they might have done revesrse and not happen. So no he didn't die. and when he was hung Rand got back soon enough to be able to save him before he died. Rand has saved Matt countless times... I just can't wait for the damn series to end... I don't want it to... but I do so I don't have to keep reading, Afterall... RJ will have to die sometime.. and I don't think anyone can do this series as well as he can.

Well no duh, Mat is still linked to the horn. by the way Rj says that when he was hung, he really didn't die.

well, Moiraine said that the amount they actually slobbered on him killed him, more that it would have killed them quickly

No Moraine said that it would have killed him, but the saliva of darkhounds doesn't kill instantly, it is like a really really fast acting acid poison thingy. Mat has never technically died, so yes he is still linked to the horn.

Wait, when the doggies got balefired, the hole they made in the door closed up, right? But if they slobbered on Mat after they smashed through the door, wouldn't the slobber have disappeared too?
