In my current homework, the problem is listed in a PDF file and one formula is written like:
100exp(*bunch of stuff*)
the "exp" part confuses me. should I assume that it is 100^(*bunch of stuff*) or is it 100 x10^(*bunch of stuff*)?

actually it's neither, the notation is talking about the e function
100exp(*bunch of stuff*) = 100e^(bunch of stuff) where the e^x is a button on your scientific or graphing calculator.
