Everybody's favorite chiwawa/mosquito and Cat. Ren was constantly annoyed at Stimpy's stupidity, so much so it litterally drives him insane. As a kid, I never appriciated this. I was watching cartoons as early as I can remember, so it sorta seemed normal. In a way, I was numbed to just how awsome this show was. Now that I watch this show on digital cable and dvd, after not seeing it for awhile, I can appreciate it even more. I am actually a little frightened by how extreme it shows Ren's insanity and pscological instability. Such as when they play that really creepy music, like the episode when Ren's cousin Sven visits and Ren goes berserk to find the house trashed when he gets back from work. Not the mention the totally random background that sorta represents his insanity. "I'm gonna hit ya! and yer gonna faaaall." *Stimpy and Sven wimpering*.
Hahaha, so disgusting, I can't believe Nick allowed this show to be shown to children. Hense the greatness of it. So discuss, your favorite aspects, the new Ren and Stimpy Spike TV tried to pawn to us (and failed), etc.

I wasn't to fond of Ren and Stimpy, it all depended on the episode. Sometimes I was completely disgusted with it, the other times I thought it was the funniest shwo on the planet.

hahah, yeah, sometimes they would have those highly detailed still frames on the screen for up to 10 seconds. It would always be something like Stimpy's snot collection, or an image of something equally gross. I was grossed out as well, but the antics made up for it, to me at least.

My Dad and me LOVED that show. Especially the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" episode because we do the dance along with it. We'd knock over furniture and it drove my MOm up the wall.
I remember, when I was about 5, my Dad gave me this Stimpy that farted when you squeezed it's belly, (again to my Mom joy xd ). I wore that sucker out within a year....t'was time well spent.

I loved that show! I have entire seasons on DVD, and the Happy Happy Joy Joy song is permanently saved on my computer. whee
I personally loved the gross-out factor of Ren & Stimpy, because that's what made it so much different than other Nick shows.
That, and Stimpy was the cutest thing ever.
Oh. And Muddy Mudskipper was cool, too.

I wasn't the Ren & Stimpy fan in my house that was my brother. The only thing I liked about that show was when the Happy Happy Joy Joy song came on oh and the fat guy that would always say, "thats cute...BUT ITS WRONG." He reminded me of my Grandma.....YES I said Grandma. LOL

xd Ren and Stimpy was such an awesome show. Yeah, definatly shouldn't have been shown on childrens programming. Loved Powdered Toast Maaaaann! and Log! I remembered all the words to the Log jingle, even before I bought the dvds. I have all 3 sets now ^_^ This show most recently has given me a new appreciation/obsession with voice actors, namely Billy West, God among voice actors. He's in freakin everything, and he can do so many different voices so well! It never ceases to amaze me that after Nick fired John K *twitch* Billy took over doing Ren's voice, in addition to doing Stimpy, and so many people never noticed! Nowadays I can tell, when I'm listening for it, but when I was a kid watching it, I was none the wiser. This show, however, has given me a dire hatred for the Nick execs, for what they did to John K. Out of the 3 olrignal nick toons (Doug, Rugrats, Ren&Stimpy) Ren & Stimpy took gold. Its one of my favorite cartoons even up to this date and own all three DVD boxes. When I was watching the DVDs I was also thinking, how the hell did this show pass the Censors. Lol. I guess no one realized that cartoons could be 'sick'.
