Nicholas frowned slightly then smiled softly and ruffled his red hair.“It's ok, I think she was afraid of both of us. I'm sure once everyone gets more settled down we can all talk.”He wanted to know more about the other people who took the drug. They walked through the the nice looking dinner room, Nicholas could see a living room close by as well. "Um...can we find a room for ourselves? I want to put my jacket away." Nicholas nodded and looked around trying to figure out which way to go. He finally saw a hallway and started leading Kaname down it. The hallway was brightly lit and painted a very pleasant blue color. They walked past several doors until they came to which had a glowing door knob. “Do you think this is it?”Nicholas asked reaching his hand out to tentatively to touch the door. It sprung open on its own and he peered inside. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable looking. He walked inside and beckoned his husband to follow.“Wow, I say the answer to my question is yes. Look at this place, it's amazing!”Just like Kaname Nicholas too come be over come with wonderment. He looked around the room with a wide grin. He opened various doors and decent size closet each were full of clothes that both would wear. The bed alone was an improvement after sleeping outside the entire time he had been in Nod. “I guess we don't need to worry about clothes.”He finished looking around and walked over to Kaname and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “I'm going to hop in the shower, I'll be out in ten.”Nicholas stated and walked up the stairs leading to the bathroom he saw earlier. Kaname nodded softly as Nic easily eased his mind. Though he still felt a little guilty...scaring a pregnant woman. Now that he thought on it, who the hell gave a pregnant woman his drug?! What if she went into labor while she was still in a coma in the real world?! Worry suddenly took over him but he tried to ignore it...it wasnt his business and even so, what could he do? Force her to wake up? No...
Nic spoke up again and Kaname replaced the smile on his face, the doorknob glowed and invited them nearer. What a strange place Nod was...
The room was absolutely beautiful! Modern and arcutectual, with stairs that led up to an upper balcony. He laughed happily, skipping up the stairs and finding his way to the bookshelf and the desk sitting next to it. Oh! Was that his sketch book?! It was! How strange and amazing this world was!
He hopped back down the stairs, skipping steps inbetween then stumbling into nicholas with a chuckle.
"Alright, enjoy your shower", He said softly, raising up on his toes to kiss Nic's lips before he wondered off to the bathroom.

The red head had invested about 10 minutes of simply searching the bedroom, finding quite a few things to his liking. The clothes all looked like things that would be found in his closet at home! Button downs and scarves, even little hats all in different colors! As if Nod knew everything he liked...
He took off his clothes, wiggling into a pair of dark blue torn jeans that were about a size or two larger...a studded belt held them up although low on his hips. But what shirt?
Perhaps...a plain white v-cut? He wasnt doing anything special probably just a little more research. Digging deeper in the closet he found a white t-shirt then looked it over...

═━┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈━═ Ten minutes had passed and Nicholas came out of the bathroom. He was wearing only a pair of dark blue boxers and white undershirt. He walked down the stairs toweling his slightly damp brown hair. He felt nice and clean, the shower had been amazing. There was a very nice shaving kit in the bathroom for him to use. Unlike his husband he had to shave practically every day. The razor was nice and didn't nick him, it was also nice being able to see as he shaved. He could easily do it with out his vision, but it was easier to do so with seeing.
He stepped off the stairs and looked around. There was a book shelf full of science books and to Nicholas amazement What Is Life? by Erwin Schrodinger was it in. He had been waiting to reread that for a long time and had not been able to find it in braille. It was a favorite among most biologists even his students had liked it. He would read it later he did not feel like it at the moment.
The room as he put earlier was beyond amazing. The decor was sleek and modern with warm colors in it. He looked around for Kaname not seeing him at first. He then spotted half of him sticking out of the closet. He was wear pair of dark blue jeans that hugged his hips and black studded belt. He seemed oblivious to things around him. Nicholas walked over his lover from behind and grabbed his hips. Well, he supposed the shirt would do...it looked a bit small but it most likely would fit. His hands pulled at it, seeing it was stretchy and lifted it up to wiggle into it when he felt a pair of large hands on his hips.
He gave a small breath of surpise as Nic whispered to him, blush covering his cheeks, blue eyes growing wide...it had been quite awhile since Nicholas had told him he looked sexy. Because he couldnt see him for quite awhile! But now Nic could look right at him and it embarassed Kaname...in the absolute best way.
"Y-you spoil me...you know that?" He whispered softly, giving a little gasp as the lips touched his skin. It was nice, and warm, having his lover so close to him...there hadnt been too much intimacy in their relationship since Nicholas had lost his eyesight.
The man purred, turning around in Nic's grip to rap his slender arms around his neck and lift up on hsi toes to kiss him. The white shirt had been forgotten, dropped onto the floor. Clothes were the last things on his mind right now. He pulled away slightly, their mouth only an inch apart. He could still feel his husband breathing against his lips.
"I love you." he whispered, a little tremble in his voice. It still made him nervous after all this time...having Nic touch him this way. But he loved it...more than anything in this world...

═━┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈━═ Nicholas heard a purr from Kaname as the smaller man turned around in his grasp. Slender arms around his neck as his husband stood on his toes to kiss him. Nicholas bent down slightly to make it easier for him and kissing him back. It had been forever since they got to be intimate with each other. Nicholas had been in the hospital for quite some time and they both had a bad experience with a nurse. The nurse was an overly serious, closed mind woman, who reminded Nicholas of Nurse Ratched. One day Kaname had been visiting him. Unfortunately given the closed mind society they live in the medical staff refused to let his husband see him until three days after his surgery.
Finally they were together again. Nicholas was still in the hospital bed with bandages around his eyes. He knew back then even though he could not see that Kaname had been crying. They had been kissing when the nurse who's name he never bothered to remember came in. She made a grasping sound and pulled his husband from him, then pushed him out of the door. Telling them how gross and diseased they were. Nicholas never felt angrier in all of his life. He complained to the doctor about the nurse refusing to pay any medical bills if she went near Kaname or himself again. He got a new nurse for the rest of his stay at the hospital, but he and Kaname were every careful while he finished his stay.
His husband had dropped the white shirt carelessly to the floor. He felt Kana end the kiss and pull away slightly he could still feel his breath on his mouth. He ran his hands down his lover's sides gently. His light blue eyes gazed affectionately into dark blue ones. He could spend all day just looking into his husband's eyes. He missed being able to do so."I love you." Kaname whispered with a tremble in voice his voice. Nicholas loved that after all these years he could still make him feel like that. He brought his right hand up and stroked the red head's face giving him an adoring look. “I love you too.”He kissed Kaname passionately again. He leading him towards the bed never once leaving his lips. When they reach the bed he broke the kiss breathing hard. He gently pushed his husband on to the bed. Pulling the white undershirt off of his body. While Nicholas was not a muscular man he was still in shape, and after living outside defending for himself while in Nod it showed. He looked down that the beautiful man before him and felt euphoric. He climbed on to the bed and straddled the smaller man. He smiled gently down at him with a loving gazing. He kissed the palm of his husband's hand then each finger, his stomach, chest, neck, ear, before moving up to kiss his lips. He loved all the sounds the smaller man made as he stroked his waist. He tugged the black studded belt off of the slender frame kissing Kaname even harder.
Sometime later he was laying on his back on the bed with one hand under his head his arm at an angle. His lowered body was covered with a nice cotton sheet he was slightly sweaty from their previous activity, but did not mind. He could shower again later easily. He felt incredibly happy at the moment and nothing else matter. He could feeling Kaname against his body as he used his free hand to write intricate designs in his husband's arm. Gasped breaths escaped him as he was lowered onto the bed, his eyes glinting as he looked up at him. Nicholas was such a handsome man it made him giddy...he almost felt as if he didnt deserve him. In fact, he was almost sure he didnt.
The soft smile never left his lips as Nicholas towered over him, the red head opening his arms to invite him in...
When was the last time they's been so close? Probably back in the hospital...although...it was a horrific experience. Kaname could sometimes be rather naive to the fact that some people were against his relationship. Back in Japan and even in England people werent as close minded of his sexual preferance as they were here. Surely many didnt agree...but they werent as openly discriminative. That day in the hospital, although he's always been a silent cryer, Nicholas still knew he was crying...even without eyes the man knew him so well. He touching his face and told him to stop crying...that everything would be alright. And Kaname realized if Nicholas was so strong, he had no right to cry.
With a smile he'd leaned down to softly kiss him, when a disgusted gasp sounded behind him and he'd been roughly grabbed by the arm and thrown from the room. Offensive words were thrown at him for both his sexual preference and his race...he'd never felt so hurt in his life.
Kaname didnt hate the woman...nor anybody else...it just wasnt his way...but his heart was rather broken that day.
But that was all in the past. Now all he could do was smile softly, looking up at the beautiful man on top of him.
"N-nicholas" He whimpered, watching him kiss his hand. He blushed, giving a shy smile as he did. It was all too much...he couldnt believe how eager he was already. Had it really been that long?
A gasp escaped him, his back arching as he felt the lips against his stomach, one of his most sensative places. But Nicholas knew that all too well. He began to pant as the man continued to kiss him everywhere, his brow wrinkling in sexual frustration. This was far too much.
"I-i n-need--" He began, but the lips against his cut the sentence short. His body trembling like mad as his pants slipped off his hips. Blue eyes drfited closed and a slender hand gripped the sheets as he was pulled even deeper into ecstasy...

The smaller man was breathing softly now, his arms rapped around his husband's chest as he laid still. His body feeling heavy, yet lighter than air as sleep slowly overtook him.
A purr left his lips as he snuggled deeper into the man's chest. His eyes closed, long dark eyelashes casted shadows over pale cheeks...heartrate slowed to a soft gentle beat. He was so happy he couldnt even explain.
"Nicholas," He said quietly, his eyes still closed, "You're so perfect." And with that, he slipped into unconciousness. And a small thought hit him as the darkness closed in.
Do you dream...when you're already living in one? And if so...what could he possible imagine that was better than this moment...

He felt it slowed to a normal rate and Kaname snuggled closer to him. "Nicholas," He heard Kaname say in a sleepy voice."You're so perfect." He smiled sleepily and brought his hand down from under his head. He wrapped it around the smaller man and kissed his hair. “You make me perfect.”He said to the already asleep man. He adjusted his body so that he was now on his side. He pulled the sheets up more to cover their bodies. His arms were around Kaname again as sleepiness over took him.
He was not sure how much time had passed when he woke up. He could tell by the lack of light from outside the window it was most likely evening. A sound had woken him up he had always been a light sleeper, but Kaname still seemed to asleep. He stretched slightly not wanting to disturb his lover just yet. He looked down at the man that he want and would spend the rest of his life with. Grateful to know that Kaname felt the same way about him. He had dated few other men before, but they were nothing like Kaname. He balanced Nic out, and Nic did the same for him.
He brought his thoughts back to earlier ones he had that day. He thought about starting a family with the beautiful red haired man. One of these days he would loved to have an actual house, not a city loft. Kids, a dog, and friendly neighbors. He knew being gay that some of those things might be hard to accomplished. Before all of that he wanted to get married for real.
He thought as he touched the gold band on his finger. Although they are married by a court, Nicholas wants to give Kana an actual wedding. It does not need many bells and whistles just a small ceremony and reception with friends. He smiled at the thought of his lover dressing up in a white tux. Really Kaname could wear anything and still look amazing.
He could hear crickets creeping outside as he shifted. Kaname had already felt himself awakening before Nicholas had shifted. No...i dont wanna wake up yet...he thought, having always been a lazy creature. He loved sleep...the lazy little chemist could lay around in bed all day. Though his husband didnt often let him get away with it.
The lips on his skin pulled him out of his sleep and he sighed, shifting slightly to bury his face in Nic's chest. A childish mumble was all he could say, still being completely light headed from orgasmic bliss.
After a moment of quiet, he inched away slight and laid his head in the fluffy pillow, staring up at his love. An embarassed smile curled up his lips as he snuggled deeper into the pillow.
Blue eyes drifted closed a second, then opened again, "Good evening," He said quietly, blush tinted his cheeks, "That was...really nice..."
Psh...what an understatement...but he was much too embarassed to go into fuller detail. His arms stretched above his head and he yawned, "Ugh...what time is it?"the younger man added, voice raspy from sleep. Did time really matter here in NOD?
The red head's eyes drifted out the window, seeing the sky had darkened a bit, then moved downward towards the little end table next to the bed.
"Ah!" He sang surprised, sitting up and crawling over Nicholas to grab the box of cigarettes. A terrible habit sure, but he'd picked it up in highschool. Almost every boy in his school back in japan had smoked...it was stranger for a guy not to smoke, "I didnt put these there did i?"He asked quietly, flopping back down into a sitting position besides Nic.
After lighting it and taking a small drag, he sighed, feeling very content, then went back to laying next to his lover.
"I know we arent supposed to go outside at night but...i would really like to get some research in...about the mara?"Kaname said, looking up at his husband with the cigarette between two fingers.
He was a curious little kitten and very often did things he wasnt supposed to in the name of science...

The afternoon had been amazing, there really was another word to describe it. It had been ages since they had been that intimate. For Nicholas three week almost four with out his lover had been pure torture. He saw his husband yawn and stretch his arms out over his head. "Ugh...what time is it?" “I have no clue some time in the evening by the looks of it. I don't think there clocks here.”Nicholas answered as he pushed the covers off himself, still laying in the bed. He heard Kaname give a sound of surprise and felt him crawl over his body. He returned with a carton of cigarettes. It was nasty habit, but Nicholas had grown used to it. He also had his vices mainly scotch so he did not bother to complain. Also the fact that he only had a drink once in a while, and that Kana barely ever smoke helped. "I didnt put these there did i?" Kana asked as Nic felt him flop back on the bed besides him. “The house does carter to your every whim, it must have.”Nicholas sat up slightly still leaning against his pillow. He saw the flicker of a lighter and the smell of tobacco filled the room as Kaname laid back down besides him. He sat up from the bed and pulled on a pair of boxers and jeans he had set out earlier. He had buttoned the pants when Kaname had spoken up again. He turned his attention back to him. "I know we arent supposed to go outside at night but...i would really like to get some research in...about the mara?" Nicholas pulled on a dark gray long sleeved shirt. He was now fully dressed as he sat back on besides his lover. He sighed softly now was as good of time as ever to tell his husband about his experience with the mara. He folded his hands in his lap and looked at Kaname. He spoke with seriousness in both his face and voice. “Sigh, there's something I haven't told you yet. I've been on that shadow land Maradrom by accident before.”He recalled his finding the twin lakes and the shadow birds to Kaname going over every detail and leaving nothing out. He did not mean to keep anything from his husband. He had just been so over come with seeing him, that he had not bothered. The slender young man crawled over to the edge of the bed and laid on his stomach, propping himself up on one hand and gently puffing his cig and smiling lovingly as Nicholas got dressed.
He hadnt had a cigarette in quite awhile, though it was one of the only nasty habits he had. He'd always hated the taste of alcohol and was raised to strickly to ever try drugs...which was why he hated calling Collidescope a drug...it made it sound so vulgur. Sleep aid was better...though he doubted that would ever stick...
He tapped the cigarette clean, watching Nic interestedly as he explained what had happen, eyebrows raise slightly.
The man was entranced...until the last part came. Kaname gasped, slowly raising a hand to his mouth in shock. No..no...this cant be true. The entire reason he'd created the pill was so that Nicholas could see!
At first...he was a little upset that Nic hadn't told him earlier...but then...his spirit dropped. He hated himself...damn it...he couldnt do anything right!
After a short moment moment of silence, Kaname placed his cigarette on the edge of table then covered his eyes with his hands.
"Im sorry Nic" he said softly, shaking his head, "God...what did i do...perhaps...i miss calculated something?" He whimpered, sitting up quickly and grabbing his sketchbook, frantically flipping through the pages, "I must have done something wrong..."

"God...what did i do...perhaps...i miss calculated something?"He heard a whimper and saw Kaname hasty grab his sketchbook. He was frantically flipping through the pages on the verge of tears. "I must have done something wrong..."Nicholas placed his hand on the book to stop the frantic flipping of its pages. Taking it out of Kaname's hands placing it on the bed. He felt awful for making his husband sad. He gathered the slender man in his arms pulling him into his lap. “It's not your fault.”He said sympathetically rubbing the red head's back in soothing circles. When his husband had created Collideascope he had created only a doorway. One that only seemed to open one way, but only a doorway regardless. Nicholas knew there was no way Kana would ever create anything like the Mara. No there was something or someone else was. He bumped foreheads with his husband looking to his dark blue eyes endearingly. “Please, stop crying...I love you Kaname, and I know you would never do anything to hurt me or anyone else.”He brought hand up to wipe away tears from his lover's face. He tilted his head up to meet his husband's for a gentle kiss. He still continued making soothing motions as he kissed Kaname. He end the kiss pulling away slightly giving Kaname an adoring look. He then kissed his forehead, both cheeks, corner of his mouth, and his lips once more. Nicholas gave him sweet smile and sighed contently. “You should talk to that man Aaron, he said that he has been here the longest. His dark blue eyes grew wide as the book was taken from him, a look of sad questioning as he stared up at him.
The arms around him instantly warmed him...the young man was always cold so never really passed up the chance for a warming hug from Nicholas. This time was no different...the tears whelled up a bit more as his husband spoke up.
It isnt my fault? He tried to make himself believe it but he just couldnt...yes it was...everything was. And if he didnt directly cause something bad...he could have done something to stop it...
Oh...there he went again...dwelling on that day when Nic was in the accident... his husband had asked Kaname to ride with him that day but he couldnt, got called over for some lab worked and he thought he needed the hours. If Kaname was in the car with Nic that day...maybe something would have been different. Maybe the accident would have never happened.
And now...the one good thing he'd thought he'd done wasnt secure. Collidescope was created to help people to sleep again, but mostly so that Nicholas could see again. But if these creatures...the Mara...could still take that from him...Kaname hadnt created the "doorway" correctly at all!
"I love you..." He said quietly, taking Nic's face in his hands, "I just...wish i could do more for you...Nic..."
A soft blush covered his face as he was kissed again, each little kiss was rewarded with a tiny whimper of a voice from Kaname's insides.
"Maybe...i should speak with Aaron?" He asked softly, standing up to wiggle back into the dark blue jeans, "B-but will you come with me?" A nervous laugh escaped him as the tight white v-cut was pulled over his head, "I dont think he likes me too much."
As he spoke his little plea, Kaname had bent over Nicholas, rapping his arms around his neck like always. A sweet pleading smile on his pink lips, "Im sorry to be such a bother," He laughed, kissing him sweetly. What would this Aaron man tell him? Well...even if he didnt permit Kaname to venture out in the darkness at least he could get some questions answered. Why had Aaron been here so long and how did he know so much? This intruiged Kaname to know end, and he was rather eager to find the answers...

═━┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈━═ Nicholas watched Kaname get dress knowing that his husband was thinking about his accident. It was a few months after they had gotten married. They were both at the university working. He had been grading papers and Kaname had been called in to do lab work. It was nice working closer together that they usually rode home together. Home was the loft that Nicholas had owned. Since his had been the bigger out of the two of theirs when Kaname first moved in two years ago. When Kaname told him that he that he had to do more lab work, Nic understood. It was not the first time either one of them had to stay late.
On his way home he picked groceries Kaname had given him a list earlier that day. It was their anniversary the next day. Either one of them wanted to go out, so Kaname had told him that he would cook much to Nicholas' delight. He picked up a box of chocolates that Kaname loved. He was not fond of sweets himself, but he would never day no to a kiss from his lover after he had eaten chocolate. He also picked up a thin silver chain. It was simplistic, but he was sure Kana would love it.
He finished shopping for what he need waiting forever it seemed in the checkout lane. The cashier was a teenage girl who seemed more concerned with her nails than the costumes. Nicholas watched her blow a bubble with her gum looking bored out of her life. Finally she finished ringing him up. He paid and headed home. He drove in his car listening to the classic rock mix Kaname had made him for his birthday. He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel in time with the music and came to a train crossing. His phone rang he switched off the music answering it.
It was Silvia Adams the chemistry professor. She and Nicholas had met in college and had been friends ever since. She had recently had a baby and was on leave. They talked while he waited for the train to pass. He had been laughing about something when another car had plowed into his on the passenger side. Nicholas was grateful that Kaname had stayed late that night. The thought of losing him hurt more then not be able to see. "B-but will you come with me?"He heard his husband ask with a nervous laugh as he pulled on a white v neck shirt."I dont think he likes me too much." “Of course, but I don't think he hates you. He just seem very protective of that woman.”Nicholas answered with a smile as his lover bent over to wrap his arms around his neck. Nicholas looked up at him thinking no one else could pull of jeans and tshirt like Kana could. "Im sorry to be such a bother," His lover said before kissing him gently. Nicholas returned the kiss and answered a statement Kana had said earlier. “Kana I wanted you to know that your being here's is enough for me.”He said in a serious tone looking into the dark blue eyes. He hoped that Aaron would have some answers for them. “Although...right now...you could help me get up.”He said playfully and breaking into a grin. He grabbed Kaname's arm and pulled himself out of the bed. They walked side to side down the hall holding hands looking for Aaron. Kaname blushed, his eyes drifting to the side embarassedly as Nicholas spoke seriously to him. He never quite knew how to respond when his husband said things like that. Which was often...Nic alsways knew just what to say...he was like no other man he'd ever met. Even Kaname's mother, who was a little skeptical to the idea of not only her son marrying a man but an american man at that, fell in love with Nicholas that first day they'd been introduced. She'd even call sometimes and if Kaname answered the phone she's chime, "Not you, i wanna talk to my other son!"
Although, living in Japan he didnt speak to him Oka-san very often...at least not in person. He hadnt even broken the news of Nic's accident to her yet...and his father was always rather busy in England. Luckily he too generally approved of the marriage...although he hadnt met Nicholas yet...and too bad, Nic wouldnt be able to see that he gotten his father's dark blue colored eyes...
The smaller man laughed, stumbling just a tad as Nicholas took his arm and lifted himself up.
The hall way was a long one, many other doors were along the walls. Kaname wondered if there was enough room here for all the people who would no doubt be taking the drug...
His hand stayed tightly in Nic's as they walked, Kaname straying slightly like a child to touch any doorknob they passed. Or lightly brush his fingers along a strange painting or brightly colored potted plant. He was so easily amused by the little things in life.
After a short while of wondering hand and hand, Kaname paused and tapped a finger against his chin.
"Uh...where do you think he is?" He asked, dark blue eyes drifting around and finding a door open, "Is that the Library?" A soft giggle escaped him, "He seems like a reader."
Letting go of his husband's hand, Kaname trotted towards the door and knocked gently, "Mr. Aaron? Are you in there?"
((I dont get alot of romance...smut yeah, but this cutsy stuff is rare <3 ))
