I posted this idea in the Wierd Inc. Guild and it got a ton of hits, so here I go.


When I was a noob, I did what everyone does: Looks through the stores. When I saw something that I thought might be usefull, I bought it and was happy. But then a few months in I looked through my inventory, and found that I had a zillion odds and ends and nothing to do with them.
Just because an item looks nice and useful at the times does not mean its the right thing to get. You cant do anything with only 5 hats, or 8 different types of gloves, or 3 headsets, etc etc.

Here is what I will do:

1. Recreate your avitar
I will take a look at your avitar, ask you what you would like your avitar be themed, and create a reasonably priced TekTek.

2. Teach you how to shop
I will explain how buying small thing here and there without a goal in mind can be a waste of effort, time, and gold.

3. Theach you how to make money
I will give a list of ways to easily and quickly make money on gaia. They do not perposfully make it difficult, they just make you work for it. After speaking with you I will suggest what might work best for you.

4. Getting and saving your money
I will explain how to use TekTek propperly, how to quest propperly, and how to save your gold in an efficiant way.

When you look around gaia please have in mind what sort of things you are looking for. It is not wise to browse and buy whatever random item you think looks interesting. It is best to have a dream avitar when you are shoppin g for your first times.

~In the begining, have a certain item or items in mind.
~Start by visiting the shops you think will have items that fit you.
~Try to save ABOVE the cost of an item you want. If it's 10 gold, wait till you have 15.

When you see a dream avitar, questbar, dream car, etc etc in signature, profile, or post, it was probably made on TekTek. TekTek is the online Gaia resource website.
When you go to TekTek, you will see 9 basic options. When you want to hunt for a certain item or design a dream avitar, clock the Dream Avitar icon. If you want to put up a quest for an item or certain amount of gold, click the Questbar Icon. These are ways of letting people see what it is that you want exactly.

Once you get your money, it is easy to spend it willy-nilly and end up back where you started. A good way to save your money, and pretect your money and items, is to save them to a mule account. A mule account is a simple, second account owned by you to store your valuble items with. This way if you ever get hacked because you seem to have a good amount of gold, your account will not have any items or gold to loose. You can easily send your items from one account to the other by trading or gifting them. It is good to have a mule name and password different from yours. If they are to similar, they can be easily guessed at by a hacker. Another good reason to use a mule to store your gold is becuase it will take an actually effort to spend it, you are less likely to burn through your savings.
