Rules

While we obviously will stick to the Gaia ToS we have some extra rules that are divided into sections as follows

a) Rule Breaking and Banning Policy
b) Guild Use
c) Bullying/ intolerance/ Specific targetting
d) Inactivity/ Leaving

#1. We operate on a three strikes and you're out policy. For the first two rules that you break you will be warned both on the thread where the break occured and by PM. If you persist and break the rules a third time you will be banned.
#2. If you feel that this banning was unfair you can argue your case by sending me a pm.
#3. Be polite when these things happen. Reacting with anger and rudeness will not help your case.
#4. You can explain why you broke the rules if you wish and the moderators will discuss this between themselves.
#5. A PM will be sent informing you of your ban and a reason will be given. If you are banned and no PM is sent or a reason is not given please PM me




#1. This is a guild and forum primarily for the discussion of geekiness and the things that make you feel like a geek. Treat it as such.
#2. Threads started purely for the gaining of gold aren't welcome, take it to the Chatterbox, that's what it's for.
#3. People will be discussing things that they are passionate about, the discussions may well get heated. This is expected and accepted. General trolling and starting arguements for the sake of arguements however are not. It will not be tolerated.
#4. Please follow the posting guidelines (Found Here) when starting a new thread.
#5. If you're part of this forum it's generally accepted that you're pretty geeky. As such it is expected that you will be fairly literate so please please please use proper grammer or at least make your posts legible. Nothing makes me want to cry more then someone who 'spks lyk dis lol cos i is kool'. If it's due to learning difficulties or English not being your first language however this will be taken into consideration
#6. If you want to geek out over computer speak (I'm not even going to try and write in L33T) please do it in a thread specifically for that, not all over the forum. Not everyone understands it and it can get annoying.
#7. If a person is discussing a sensitive issue for them then please show the adequate respect. If you're not going to be in some way supportive, don't post.




As I feel so strongly about these points only one warning will be given.

#1. Bullying will not be tolerated. You will be given ONE warning for this and if it is not ceased you will be banned.
#2. People have different views. Just because a person thinks something different to what you do does not make them wrong. Accept this fact and listen to the different views.
#3. Intolerance of a person for their race, sex, age or geekdom is not tolerated. You will get ONE warning and the chance to clean up your act. If you fail to heed this warning and continue being intolerant you will be banned.
#4. Specifically singling a member out due to a personal vendetta is not accepted, even if the person doing the singling is a moderator. ONE warning and then out.
#5. If you have a problem with another member or moderator PM me and I will look into it.
#6. Reports of bullying or any of the above can be made in this thread or directly to a mod.


#1. While it is understandable that sometimes RL will get the better of us all if your account has been inactive for more then 6 months and no reason has been given then a PM will be sent and your name flagged as inactive.
#2. If after 3 months the PM has not been responded to then we will assume you have left Gaia and remove you from the guild. You will be shown to have left.
#3. If after this time you return and wish to rejoin you may and you will be marked as an active user.
#4. If for whatever reason you choose to leave Secret Geeks please send a PM informing either myself or one of the other moderators of your departure. You may include a reason for leaving if you wish.

Further rules will be added if/when they are required.
If you feel that there are any more rules that need to be added then please post into the thread and I will look into it.
