So basically I have this coven of vampires, capable of walking in daylight (weakness is Holy Magic) and who are very deadly. The only reason I have them around is for the invasion, it gives everyone something to do since its going to be an entire army of vampire NPCs and a few lycan servants.
I already have it planned out how the attack itself starts out and how it'll spread outward, but I need your opinions on if you'd like to go through with it. Also the mains/RPCs of the coven are in the profile section, they'll be harder to kill than some random number of NPCs.
If your wondering if slashing the NPCs to bits will also work, the answer is yes, as long as you destroy the brain or cut them so badly they can't move.
As far as invasions go, this will seem probably big, but compared to what others have in mind, it'll be rather small, plus I don't try to bore people will extremely long quests.
As far as victory goes, you'll have to fight through the horde all the way back to the coven's mansion, all the way to Leon.

Not many people possess holy items of magic to defend themselves against a horde of day walkers.

That he did. Like repeatedly stabbing them. Also, setting them on fire works. And of course decapitations.

Well that's rather rude. If you wanted to then why didn't you just stick up a forum? I was just going over it the way the rules were set up. No reason to be spiteful. gonk

I ain't spiteful. Just annoyed. We've gone from The Two Towers to From Dusk Til Dawn and that's not really a good thing when this is a Fantasy RP. Moreover, Daywalkers means that there is no safety, no period of rest, recovery, or any chance to strategize. The Vampires will be hunting constantly and the town will be depopulated in probably a few days. You see, one of the chief reasons for the Daylight weakness is to allow for epic battles between Vampires and Humans to possess tension and drama. When the sun goes down its oh s**t time, and the final battle with the Vampire lord occur in the wee hours of dawn: will the heroes survive long enough to defeat the head Vamp while he's weak? Furthermore, the Daylight period allows people to, as I've said, heal and plan. Right now? No. Vampires will just beat down doors and walls and drag all the helpless townsfolk away to drain and turn them. There's no stopping them, and while mortals will get tired, Vampires never will, and there will be more and more of them.

Like I've said, I've planned out how this will work in. Why do you have to assume that I'm just going to go apeshit senseless day in and out? You and Vuur do contradict each other and both turn out wrong or right, why is it you feel that your right without even knowing what I plan on doing?
I was just trying to give everyone something to do. Like I've said, you've been in the guild longer, you should've known to do something like this instead of talking about it. I'm not trying to be rude or come off rude. I'm just stating a fact.
Its not best to assume of things you don't know. If you feel so strongly about it I'll just drop the whole thing Cale, I don't want to do something that is such a problem. After all it wouldn't be fun if at least one person had a problem with it.

Because I know what makes a good story, and because I do not know what you've planned or how you plan to do it, or your particular GM style, I am forced to assume the worst. Defend your idea. Prove me wrong. Don't go wishy washy all of a sudden just because you're taking criticism. Convince me that this is a good idea, and I may go along with it. Otherwise, in my opinion, this is going to shape up to be just another Gaian Vampire RP, where the Vampires are misunderstood and really powerful but nice people, as opposed to the pants-shittingly terrifying lords of horror they once were.

The problem with the hobgoblin army is that no one seems to have any kind of panic or preparation going on for this invasion.
I mean someone blow a bugle, bang a gong, do we have anyone looking out over the walls?

He's got a good point. The people aren't preparing for invasion of any kind.

Exactly, as far as telling you what would happen, no. I can say that I was planning on giving a week (RPwise) to prepare. As far as nice people, yeah I'm nice, but screw my balls senseless if I ever would do something like that.
The reason I choose not to defend is because I've seen how this has gone before and I'm not one to bicker of petty "He's right, your wrong, Your right, he's wrong." crap. As far as GM style, not sure what you mean (Unless it means Guild Master), the fact is, I've never played D&D or anything similar.
Though I have been capable of planning things through and seeing their effects, not just because I think about a lot of things or RP a lot, but because, even though video game mechanics don't always suffice, some do give a good idea.
Soul Calibur 3 has a campaign mode, before I got a comp, that's where I learned about things like Infantry and Calvary, your basically moving around trying to usurp the enemies fortresses without having your own burned to the ground or your forces killed. What made it even more tricky was meeting enemies inside the fortresses, because on their turf they got bonuses, such as being able to freeze you if they successfully land a blow.
Once again, I'm not going to use Soul Calibur's mechanics, just used that as an example. Picture an army, as big as the army of a kingdom, filled with many diverse branches, spears, swords, glaives, lances, etc. First wave coming in will be a small group of soldiers, followed by Lycan servants.
Then the real strike, the greater offenses and defenses lined up, while the best stay behind to fight off those foolish enough to carry on towards them instead of resting. Then again, resting to long causes allies to turn into enemies. Never said you couldn't rest, but its not going to be such a long, booo hooo I need a band-aid rest.
Besides, they are all NPCs save for the mains, if your character doesn't find ways to improvise, like hmm, I don't know, make traps, or have archers strike down the few they can. That's not my fault, because after all if you pin one to the ground with a giant spear, unless an idiot goes and messes with it, the thing is practically screwed until someone beheads it. You talk of armies and forces, I give you a week to defend yourself, enough time or not, you could try to make it work.
Now as far as Hobgoblins go, by all means, put it up. Display and present, that way we either can say this idea or that, and if either doesn't work out still have the other to fall back on.
