Username: X Midnight Falcon X Character name: Fellan Bird: Owl Species: Northern Hawk Owl Special markings: Her eyes have markings somewhat like the Eye of Horus. Some say she was born with eyes like that, some say she painted them there, and others say they're scars. The feathers around her talons are sooty and charred from years of catching embers and coals in them. Curiously, the feathers around her beak are not charred or sooty. Talents: As a Hawk Owl, she is extremely fast and agile. Her body is built somewhat like a kestrel or falcon, making her cut through the air like a knife through butter. She is even faster in a dive, because of her smaller facial disk and larger forehead than most owls. She also has silent flight, like most owls. She is also particularly sensitive to wind changes, and changes of her speed. Chaw*: Colliering Position*: Ryb of Colliering Chaw, Knight Bio: She came to Ga'Hoole as a chick in her mother's talons. Her father died during a forest fire, and her siblings died with him. Her mother knew no other place to go, other than the great tree. Fellan grew up at the great tree, and she has always been fascinated in the arts of blacksmithing and colliering. When she was old enough, she loved the weather interpretation and colliering classes. She got into both chaws. She was especially good at colliering, and rose to the rank of Ryb after the previous Ryb retired. Pic:  She has marks like the Eye of Horus on both of her eyes. Underlining the bottom of her eyes (like eyeliner) is black lines, connecting to the red one. She has one thick scar going diagonally across her left eye. Talents: As a Barn Owl, she can locate and acquire a rodent in total darkness, thanks to a keen set of eyes and an even keener pair of ears. A barn owl's "satellite dish" face helps pick up the faintest leaf rustle or mouse peep from hundreds of feet away. His ears are positioned at about eye level, just behind the ridge of facial feathers. One ear is positioned higher than the other as part of a cool 3D hearing system. She also has the ability of 100% silent flight, perfect for hunting or sneaking up on an enemy. She is a master at all chaws, especially at smithing, colliering, tracking, weather interpretation, and, most of all, battle skills. She was attacked by a St. Aggie's patrol, but she managed to escape, leaving only the one scar across her eye. Though she has heroic blood in her, deep inside she, too, craves the dark power of the Silver Moon. She always wears a specially-made pair of battle claws, no matter what. She's afraid that when the Rise of the Silver Moon happens, she will be pulled by the force and become an enemy. Username: X Midnight Falcon X Character name: Selimarre Bird: Owl Species: Greater Sooty Owl Special markings: She is sooty, and her once silvery chest feathers are covered in soot, char marks, and small burn spots. She has a scar right below her facial disk. Talents: She is a talented blacksmith, but she almost never leaves her forge. As a species of Barn Owl, she can hear incredibly, however, she can fly semi-silently, because some of her plummels have been burned off. Position: Rogue Smith of the Forest of Tyto. Bio: Although she never reveals her whole past to anyone, as a rogue smith, not even her name often, it can be pieced together if many owls come together. Selimarre has always been different in the Forest of Tyto. Echoes of the pure ones have kept going on in Tyto. The Greater Sootys were never treated as well as any other species of barn owl there, and Selimarre was never treated well by anyone except for the past rogue smith of Tyto. He was a rather large masked owl, and was like a second father figure to Selimarre. Selimarre grew into a talented rogue smith, and the masked owl, the last rogue smith, gave Selimarre his forge. Selimarre has never heard from him since. She makes a verity of things, and many traders sell for her. She has been a slipgizzle for the guardians, once, but otherwise, she has always been on neither side of the Guardian's countless battles. Talents: He main hunting technique is perch-and-pounce, they are agile birds with a swift, goshawk-like wing action and the ability to manoeuvre rapidly when pursuing prey or hawking for insects. Chaw*: Weather interpretation Position*: ryb Bio: Sandsays was born in the Shadow Forest. But when got older, he decided to go and check out the Beyond the Beyond, And while he was there, he was attacked by a wolf and was knocked out. When he woke up, he saw Fay, and she helped him heal. One day, she was out on her own when she saw and owl being attacked by a wolf, and he looked badly injured. So Fay got rid of the wolf and took the unknown owl back with her. his name was Sandsays and they became good friends. She made a promise after that to keep their friendship a secret. Species: Tyto Alba (Barn Owl)
Special markings: Coal's feathers are black, a mix of grays, and brown. Quite rare for barn owls. The reason why it would be rare is because most black barn owls are either killed by their mothers or kick out of the nest. Coal got lucky.
Talents: Coal has the ability of Firesight. It means that when he looks into the flames of a fire he is able to see pieces of the past, present, or the future. However Coal hasn't quite grasped this fact as of yet. Nor does he understand it much at all. He is a natural in his colliering chaw as well. Also, for some reason Coal seems to be stronger than other barn owls with normal barn owl coloring. He doesn't get sick very often either.

Biography: Two years ago Coal's parents, two normal barn owls, stood around the last egg that had yet to hatch. Both of them watching with anticipation as their little egg began to crack. However their anticipation turned to shock when Coal hatched from his egg. Instead of an owlet covered in white down, here was an owlet covered in black fluffy down. His parents were flabbergasted to say the least of their newest arrival. They turned their backs on their newest hatchling. Coal wasn't even given a name by his parents. When it was feeding time his mother skipped him completely. If it hadn't been for their nestmaid snake, Coal probably wouldn't have survived those first few days of life.
Eventually though his mother knocked him straight out of the nest on purpose. Getting rid of the "strange" owlet. So there he was. Sitting on the ground, very vulnerable and an easy catch for any raccoon that came along. Or some other creature. Instead of meeting that kind of fate, Coal was picked up off the ground by a great gray owl. This owl carried him all the way to the Great Ga'Hoole where he was taken in, fed, and he was even given a name. Coal, because of his black feathers.
Specific description of character looks: Coal himself is a rarity among his kind. As anyone can easily see he is not covered in the usual molt of gold, brown, and white or cream colored feathers. Instead his feathers are made up of black, dark grays, and brown. Obviously he is different compared to other barn owls.

Bio: Kyler was told great stories of the Guardians when he was young. He wanted to be just like them. He has trained most of is life, just he hasn't yet mastered the flying. Kyler's parents were warriors but they had died defending an owl kingdom from the pure ones.

Username: X Midnight Falcon X Character name: Ayba Bird: Owl Species: Eagle Owl Gender: Female Special markings: Her eyes are a dark reddish orange, but her left eye has a streak of gold and her ear tufts are bigger than most eagle owls, as well as being solid black. Talents: She is one of the largest species of owl. She is strong and good at search and rescue. She has really good eyesight. Chaw*: Search and Rescue Position*: Knight Bio: Ayba grew up and lived in Ambala for the beginning of her life. She lived a nice life there for a while before she appeared at the Ga'Hoole tree for the first time. Although her reasons were unknown, all suspicions of her were erased once Ayba became such a loyal guardian. However, there are still questions of Ayba's loyalty. Pic:  Specific description of character looks: Ayba is big, with a small, brownish-grey facial disk, topped in tall black ear tufts. Her beak is an incredibly dark grey.  Username: Nezul Character name: Rizgael Bird: Owl Species: Collared Scott Owl Gender: Male Special markings: none Talents: Flying without seeing (trusting in his gizard Chaw*: Navigation, Weather-interception Position*: Student Bio: Rizgael was born to a nomadic clan of owls who flew across great seas to different islands. Their clan does not have any warriors since their very small size does not constitue for much fighting power, thus they utilized their ability of knowing their direction without seeing the stars nor seeing any landmarks to show them the way. Unfortuanately though, they made landfall on what seemed to be an endless island and were met by a group of owls who called themselves the Purians. The Purians attacked the small Owls Of Rizgael's clan causing all the young to have to scatter and flee as the adults attempted to fight but were crushed with ease. Rizgael escaped by burrowing into the ground underneath the roots of a large tree. Rizgael stayed their throughout the rest of the day and the entire night, with the coming of the new day he then headed out in search of the rest of his clan but found none, not even any bodies from the battle were there. So he followed his insticts and just flew on eating what ever he could find, until he came to the sea to fly across the ocean. He was met by a group of scouts from the great Tree of Ga' Hoole, he told them his story and was brought to the great tree. From there he has served as a navigator using his clans abilities to find his way leading the Owls of Ga' Hoole home from missions that lead them into hard weather and low visibilty.
