PacManFan
I've decided to release another ALPHA version of the PSPSOne emulator as a demo so everyone can see how much the speed has progressed.

No BIOS is required for this demo, I'm using the internal HLE Bios built into the emulator. This is the same Paradox demo I released last year, except this runs much faster.

Some techinical info:

-This version is running with the interpreter CPU core, not the recompiler.
-This is running with full 256x256 textures (I can get better speed with 64x64 or 128x128 textures)
-No sound
-Partial debug loggin enabled
-partially optimized build

I'll add a fps counter to all future versions so you can see speeds for yourself. Remember that this Paradox demo was designed to test the very limits of the Playstation.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, This ALPHA demo is hardwired to play a single psx demo file that I have provided, It will NOT run a game in it's current state. I plan to release a playable BETA version very soon that has a GUI, mapped controls, and the ability to select and load psx/bin/bin.gz files.

Also, would someone with a 2.0 check to see if it works?

Amazing, truly amazing. A PSone emulator (Though it won't load commercial games yet) is MANY steps up.

Imagine, your sitting on the bus home, and you whip out your PSP to play some FF or Chrono trigger or the other billion RPGs on the PSone Library. Or the classic Twisted Metal, or the legendary Spyro the Dragon. Maybe some Crash Bandicoot will be your liking?

Not only that, but it works with 2.0 (Eboot Loader)

Sony's not going to be happy about this.

I have 2.7 ( I think) so it probably won't work for me. Will the final version have sound?

The nice part about this is, ever for people who don't use emulators, is that Sony will havfe to launch an update with a good feature if they want to make sure people won't use the emulator.

Sonys update is only as high as 2.6 right now, Uber ;P

But anyway, yeah, I won't be usin this, even if I could. I'm runnin the top firmware version. Besides, I'm still choose OFFICIAL and real games over fakes and all that s**t. It's what ******** up my ancient N64, Ps1 and Ps2 on numerous times, it won't be happenin to my Psp. Besides, I'm happy with what I have..

I enjoy homebrew.

Its what helped me love my PSP.

I don't like many of the games out so far, and the very few games I like are 1.5 games, so theres no need to update.

@Uber - Actually, I don't think Sony has to make an update. Well, for the emulator anyway. Though, they probably will make an update once the new memory sticks hit shelves.

@DR - I haven't messed up any systems with homebrew. Though writing to the flash could cause some serious trouble. But your happy with what you have, and thats what matters. 3nodding

This is indeed the holy grail for PSP homebrew.....wow, I support homebrew but currently I'm not using homebrew in my PSP but this may change it!

It'd be awesome with a PSOne emulator on a PSP... just thinking of the games I could play makes me chuckle.

Although I am currently running 2.6, so well, that won't go for me.
And I won't really stop updating.

Omg actualy, the power to play one of the best games I have ever played on the Psp? Incase you're wonderin what I mean, Vagrant Story! ******** love it. The game that originaly merged Final Fantasy with a free roamin combat system on the Ps1 made by Suare. Still, I'll resist the unhuman temptation whee

Oh Blinx, that's another thing. Why the ******** can the Psp play music, games, videos, store s**t, have home made extras on it (optional and may vary) and even have a broswer, but not play Flash? @_@

I wish I could have homebrews on my PSP. I have 2.6 on mine and I wish that I could play like the old NES games such as megaman and the good old SNES games.
