If she was a companion of the 11th, 12th, or 13th Doctor, how did she recognize him as the 10th?

She may have been shown images of all of his past selves. I mean, Peri knew about all (or a lot) of the Doctor's past companions. At least enough to recognize them by name, and to know Jamie. And to recognize Jo's picture in a little, dirty locket (which is impressive.) So River would probably know even more, especially if she really is his future wife.

Something tells me that she's not the Doctor's wife. I really think she likes making him think she is, maybe so it actually happens in a future to both of them. Note: she didn't try and convince him at all in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead. I'm guessing that she thought it hopeless to try. Either that, or she was just too busy trying to get him to remember her. Also note: She has the TARDIS book thing. It seems to have everything about the Doctor in it. Who wrote it, why they wrote it and why they gave it to Riversong is a total mystery but my bet is that whoever they are, they're a timelord. Just my input Look! It's a person turning into a pyrovile in fast forward! -------> burning_eyes <--------

Didn't it say that River Song wrote it?... as a journal of her adventures?

She told him in Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone that she has pictures of all his faces.

[Swift] She told him in Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone that she has pictures of all his faces. Which, you know, isn't creepy at all, even for the Doctor. /sarcasm Some sneaky feeling in the back of my mind loathes River and tells me she's not who she said she is. I wouldn't be surprised if she was some sort of ploy by other unknown Gallifreyians to kill the Doctor.

Yeah, I always found that theory interesting and very possible. I don't really like it, just because I love Romana so much and I'm pretty content with her role in Big Finish and her (I believe) fate in the Time War, but the idea holds merit. I certainly think it could be.
Personally, I support the theory that River is the Rani. She probably won't be, but in my canon that's who she is.
(Also, I've posted a pretty interesting potential-spoiler on the 6th Series discussion thread. If you're interested, you might want to check it out. It's very 'whoa.')

Asuka Hayata If she was a companion of the 11th, 12th, or 13th Doctor, how did she recognize him as the 10th? If I remember correctly, in one episode she said she had pictures of all the Doctors. She just didn't know the right order. Future Doctors may still elude her leaving the list incomplete. Personally, I still support the Amy Pond/River Song theory.

I think that River and the Doctor aren't going to get together,River just gets a kick out of letting him think so.

Dreamweaver38 Sammy495 Personally, I still support the Amy Pond/River Song theory. Do explain. In this theory, Amy Pond travelled with the Doctor and eventually left him as all companions do. She somehow ended up in the turbulent 51st Century, probably because that is where she chose to stay. While in that time, she got into trouble and changed her name. Pond and River both have something to do with water. For this theory to work, Rory's fate will have to be explained. Pond/Song might even be somehow responsible for Rory's death.

I would go along with that Rani/River thing. Mostly because I think River is more stalkerish than anything and the Rani loved to mess with the Doctor. And I don't like River. So she has to be someone that isn't cool. Romana was decent even though she loved messing with the Doctor too. I want Donna to be a time lord too, she'd be more of a Romana than anything simply because of how she was with the Doctor. Haha. I'm going bonkers... so yeah...><

I wonder if River could be a Time Lady? She does seem to know a heck of a lot about The Doctor and how to properly fly the TARDIS, but I suppose any companion could. I still wonder because none of the other companions seem to have such knowledge. Rose, Donna or Martha didn't know what she seemed to. /mycrackpottheory
