You'll want to cycle it first, if you haven't yet. If you want to do it with fish then I'd recommend getting something hardy like zebra danios, though fishless is best.

If you have cycled, I still wouldn't get the otos for a while. They're pretty sensitive in the first month or so of being in your tank so an established tank is best (been going for several months)

Cherry Barbs are great fish, I have 8 (had nine but he died :C). It's fun to watch the males "dance" with eachother and the color of the males depends on breeding and their diet... I like to use them as my indicator of a good diet cause they can dull out really quickly if they aren't eating right.

Is your tank a Long, Tall, or Standard size 20 gallon? That defiantly can limit on what can go in it.

Well since its a long, that gives you more options. Any Corry 3 inches or less, more Tetras then a standard, ect... What do you have in mind?

I suggest 2 male cherry barbs and 3 (or 4 w/e) females, and 3 or 4 julii or pygmy cories, then maybe a bristlenose/clown pleco or a few otos smile maybe some ghost shrimp as well

Riiight lol I forgot about that! >.< Cherry barbs should be ok. I was gunna get some for my 20long, but I decided to just go with the fish I already had lol. Black Skirts should be ok, but remembers Tetras can have attitudes. Ottos will have to wait untill your water parameters are stables for atleast 6 months, as they are wild caught, and very sensative. I dont have any experiences with BN Pleco's, but I do like them. Long Finned Albinos are very cute 3nodding Bloodfin Tetras would also be good. So would a small Gourami (Honey, Dwarf, Sparkling, Croaking), a small school of medium-sized Corries (I think Pandas are the BEST!! heart )

Sounds good 3nodding if you notice you Tetras having an attitude, you may want to rearange the tank when you bring your ottos home

what do u mean by attitude? and what r the attitudes?

Some Tetras just dont like certain kinds of fish, and to make it worse, it depends on the individual on what it does and does not like. I have Bloodfins that were just fine with a Gourami and terrible with my Guppies. I think it would be ok if they were added after the other fish

I think any livebearer would be fine, even with the Tetras. Just make sure what ever you doesnt have really long fins, or just have places to hide incase the Tetras ever bother them. You should get a males and a couple females, that way every few months, your fish get an exrtra yummy treat of fry 3nodding Or if you dont want fry, you could get all males or all females
