What books would do pretty good as movies...even though movies based on books are ussually flops sweatdrop ?
Imo, i think the Wind on Fire trilogy would do well if it were done by Hayao Miyazaki...

I normally do not want books turned into movies but I would like to see the Lost Years of Merlin by T.A. Barron made into a movie.

The Moonriders by Theresa Thomlinson. It's about the Greek Amazon warriors and the descriptions of their life are so vivid. Visually it would be a beautiful film - the Amazons have special tattoos, jewellery given by grateful farmers and villagers for whom they perform their sacred dances. It has plenty to say about war, life, death, growing up - it follows the journey of a girl beginning her seven years with the warriors before she returns home - and even a little magic. As well as battles and a great scene where they rescue stolen horses...
Also a must-read.

Doom - Knee Deep in the Dead. And Doom - Hell on Earth. By Dafydd ab Hugh and Brad Linaweaver. I haven't seen the Doom (3) movie yet, but I also haven't even played Doom 3... Anyway, I recently read the first two novels in the Doom book series based on the original game (I don't intend to read parts 3 and 4 becuase they got very very bad reviews..). I'd like to see these two novels get turned into movies, it'd be really good, the story always keeps you on the edge, craving to find out what happens to Corporal Flynn "Fly" Taggard of the Marines next. He's just so much like I expected him to be in de game, even though he didn't really have any personality. xD
It just keeps very true to the game and I like these novels a lot.
