The sky thundered overhead but the lioness stalking across the darkened ground did not seem to notice. Her ears made no twitch of acknowledgment and her eyes remained locked forward. It was cold, the rain clung to her thin fur in beads and rivulets but again, she did not notice. It felt like a strange sort of home for her and her mind had wandered in a trance. Why did she love it? She couldn't have told anyone that had asked. Whether that was because she did not know or because she did not often speak remained a mystery.

Another night she might have sat out and enjoyed the weather, but this night she was exhausted. Instead she sought shelter, but it seemed to be in short supply in these parts. She did not recall where she was or how long she had wandered to get there, it was not important. After walking some time further she noticed a cave, small but suitable for a night's rest, and made her way toward it.

It was storming out, and the disheveled lion sat near the back of the cave. He had been within the confines of the cave almost all day, having stumbled upon it earlier that day when the sun had been hot and uninviting. Nemanja had collapsed in a heap of feathers and fur, and hadn't found the heart to get up since. For awhile he had napped. . . . But the growl of thunder and echoing gusts of wind had caused the black and white lion to stir.

Rain.

He couldn't recall if it was something he enjoyed or something he disliked. In fact, as the lion stared at the mouth of the cave from the position he sat, he realized he felt . . .nothing . . .for the weather. Like everything else in his world, he felt no feeling, no emotion, no amont of care to bring life to his soul.

He recalled that it hadn't always been that way, that he had felt things during his youth. But such wasn't the case. Thinking about his emotional demise didn't bring pain or hurt or relief; thinking about what he had become allowed him to feel nothing. . . . Which proved he had fully embraced his domain.

Rain. Thunder. Lightening. The disheveled god stared out at the world from the cave. It was unlikely the lioness approaching would notice him in it until she herself fully entered, but once again, he didn't care. Whatever happened would happen. . . anothers approach meant nothing.
